Chapter 690: The Tiger Lured from the Mountain
"We’re just doing our job. My men have hit your people, and now you’ve returned the favor. We owe each other nothing, let’s end it here today."
The leader seemed to compromise, but his eyes remained full of malice.
Yang Cheng knew that people like him were snakes—either kill him today or scare him enough so he wouldn’t dare mess with him again, or he’d be trouble in the future.
He smiled and said, "Sure, I’m an easygoing person, but I have one condition."
Seeing Yang Cheng smile, the leader breathed a sigh of relief and said, "I know, I’ll move these herbs back into the car; I won’t trouble you. Let’s pretend we never met today."
Yang Cheng nodded, signaling him to hurry and move the herbs, then walked to the car and untied Wen Xu and the bodyguards.
Inside the vehicle, Kong Lingwen saw Wen Xu’s head covered in blood, anxiously got out of the car, and rushed over to support him.
"Uncle Wen, hold on, I’ll take you to the hospital right away."
"Missy, I’m fine. Just a minor injury."
Wen Xu forced a smile, but his face was unusually pale.
"Let me see."
Yang Cheng leaned over, checked the wound on Wen Xu’s head, and then placed a large hand over it, injecting a strand of True Qi; the bleeding wound instantly healed.
"Hey? It doesn’t seem to hurt anymore."
Wen Xu looked surprised, touched his wound, and found it had scabbed over.
"The wound is a bit deep, put some ointment on it when we get back, it’ll be fine. You and Lin Wen wait in the car, I’ll go handle this."
With that, Yang Cheng turned and walked over.
The leader was busily moving the herbs, loaded the last box into the car, and casually closed the trunk.
"Huff huff! Can we leave now?"
He breathed heavily, looked around, his men were all lying on the ground with varying degrees of injury, and as their boss, he couldn’t just leave them.
"No."
Yang Cheng shook his head.
The leader’s face sank, he snapped, "What do you mean? I’ve moved all the herbs, what more do you want."
"Moving the herbs was your idea, and my condition is for you to kneel down and apologize. After all, because of your carjacking, I rushed from the hospital and delayed treating patients, someone might die because of it. Kneeling is already very merciful."
Yang Cheng spoke indifferently.
"Fuck you! I’m not kneeling, don’t push me, or we’ll go down together!"
The leader, full of resentment, suddenly pulled out a gun from his waist, aiming at Yang Cheng’s head.
Yang Cheng chuckled lightly, earlier this guy had a pretty good attitude, he had no reason to do anything, but now with a gun pointed at him, it was justified.
Seeing his smile, the leader’s face changed instantly, he felt chills down his spine, his palms were sweaty, and his wrists trembled uncontrollably.
"I’m telling you, this is real! If you’re smart, let us go, or I’ll kill you!"
The leader forced himself to threaten, but sweat dripped from his forehead, revealing his inner fear.
Yang Cheng’s lips curled into a cold smile, suddenly grabbed the leader’s wrist.
The leader trembled in fear, instinctively pulled the trigger, Yang Cheng tilted his head to dodge, and the gun spouted a stream of water.
Yang Cheng’s expression cracked, it was his first time seeing a robber use a water gun to commit robbery.
Had to admit, the water gun was well-made, he hadn’t looked closely earlier and thought it was a real gun, no wonder the man kept insisting it was real, turns out he felt guilty!
Yang Cheng twisted the wrist forcefully, snatching the water gun, it was a nice tool to bluff people.
The leader opened his mouth wide in pain, letting out a pained howl, but Yang Cheng didn’t give him a chance to breathe, kicked his knee, causing his legs to go numb, and he fell to his knees.
Yang Cheng then grabbed the man’s collar, slammed his head to the ground.
Bang bang bang!
After several dull thuds, blood seeped from the man’s forehead, and his body lay limp on the ground.
Everyone around was stunned, their boss had high combat power and used to box, but in front of this young man, he had no fighting strength.
"Please...don’t kill me, I was wrong."
The leader pleaded hoarsely, his body trembled violently.
Yang Cheng stood in the middle, looked around, everyone kept their heads down, no one dared meet his gaze, fearing they’d be next to be hit.
The kid’s fists were too hard, one punch could shatter bones, they hadn’t gotten up since being floored earlier.
"I won’t kill you, but remember, if you dare cause trouble again, I’ll twist your heads off."
Yang Cheng said coldly, then kicked the leader on the backside.
"Get lost, a bunch of worthless waste, really wasted my time."
Initially, he thought they were tough guys, planned to kill one to scare them, turned out they were just a bunch of petty thugs.
Cao Ruibin must’ve been out of his mind hiring such small-time thugs to carjack?
Yang Cheng guessed if not for these folks wielding guns to intimidate, those in the car likely wouldn’t have been tied up.
Thinking of this, Yang Cheng’s heart skipped a beat, suddenly realized something was off.
This was clearly a tactic to lure the tiger from its domain!
He didn’t dare waste any more time, told the bodyguards transporting herbs, "Follow me and quickly get the car to the hospital."
"Yes!"
The bodyguards were already impressed by Yang Cheng’s earlier display of beating the thugs, looked at him with eyes full of admiration.
Yang Cheng quickly hopped back into the car, started it, and drove toward the hospital.
Seeing his worried expression, Kong Lingwen couldn’t help but ask, "What’s wrong? Is there something wrong with the herbs?"
"The herbs are fine, but something’s certainly happened at the hospital. Cao Ruibin sent these people to hijack, just to lure me away. Someone’s definitely causing trouble at the hospital."
Yang Cheng slammed the gas pedal, the car roared.
Kong Lingwen’s heart sank, immediately dialed Kong Jingshan’s number, but it was unreachable.
She called several times, couldn’t get through, gritted her teeth and said, "Cao Ruibin, the bastard, is he crazy? Those people are all wealthy or noble, if they really die, he gains nothing."
"I can’t understand, they were in-laws before, even if relations sour because of Cao Yumei, he doesn’t need to go this far, if he really kills, he’s involved."
"I think someone must be instructing Cao Ruibin, not sure what their motive is, but they must be enemies with the Kong family."
Yang Cheng had long thought it strange, Cao Ruibin, despite being a sudden rich man, has a significant business, isn’t stupid, no need to fight the Kong family to the death.
