Chapter 700: Laying a Trap
"Damn! Are these people crazy? Where did they get so much money?"
Gao Peng was furious. He had already borrowed seven hundred million, and he didn’t know how to ask for more.
But he had carefully looked just now; the two women he liked were the dancers who had just performed a striptease. Their figures were extraordinary.
Large breasts, slender waists, full hips, and long beautiful legs. Just the thought of these two women servicing him in bed made him swallow.
He was already in fifth place now. If he didn’t continue to raise the stakes, he would have to give up on these two stunning beauties. He was really unwilling to do so.
"Hao, could you lend me another five hundred million?"
Gao Peng couldn’t resist asking, looking at Cao Zhihao with some anxiety.
Cao Zhihao’s lips curved into a cold smile. He had already guessed that Gao Peng would definitely ask, so he didn’t even bother to persuade him.
"As expected, he’s useless, can’t even walk straight when he sees women."
"I can, but do you have anything else to offer as collateral?"
Cao Zhihao looked helpless.
"Xiao Peng, how about letting it go? At worst, just go to another club and find a few pretty girls to accompany you."
"No, Hao! Ever since I enjoyed the club’s service last time, I can’t muster any interest in those ordinary girls."
"How about I mortgage the house at home to you? Our family still has a villa, and with the things inside, it should be worth a few hundred million."
Gao Peng didn’t own any property himself, so he’d have to do it behind his dad’s back. After all, it’s just a formality. Once he earns money, his dad will definitely praise him for being capable.
Cao Zhihao feigned difficulty, but eventually nodded and had someone add to Gao Peng’s stake.
In an instant, Gao Peng was back at the top, having bet thirteen hundred million in total, surpassing Yang Cheng and becoming the one with the highest bets in the venue.
"What an idiot!"
Kong Lingwen curled his lip; even Gao Liang was a smart person, but how did he raise such a foolish son?
Soon, the final round of betting was over. Gao Peng felt extremely excited but also very nervous.
The second half of the competition began. This time, another brawny man took the stage. He was burly and powerful, but his opponent was a gigantic wild bull.
The wild bull was just released, and the brawny man charged at it, landing a punch on its neck.
"Moo..."
The wild bull let out a piercing cry, then completely enraged, lowered its head and charged at the brawny man.
The bull, though large, was somewhat clumsy. It not only failed to counterattack but was hit again, blood oozing from its neck.
Seeing this scene, Yang Cheng squinted his eyes, displaying a mocking smile, and said in a low voice, "That wild bull may look intimidating, but its combat strength isn’t all that great, and its neck is injured."
Hearing this, Kong Lingwen widened his eyes, surprised, and said, "Isn’t this cheating?"
"Cao Zhihao set this up as a trap for Gao Peng. I guess once Kuang Niu is on stage, it’ll end miserably for him."
Yang Cheng spoke with certainty.
There are six contestants in total. Cao Zhihao cheated to let the fourth contestant win, so the highest-betting Kuang Niu must lose. This would bring the greatest profit to the club and also allow them to swindle the Gao family’s company and house.
"Gao Peng is so naive; he wouldn’t even know if Cao Zhihao played him to death one day."
Kong Lingwen sighed, realizing that during the second betting round earlier, many people chose the fourth contestant, apparently having received some inside information.
She regretted that if she had known the situation earlier, she would have placed some bets too.
In the ring, the man and the bull were still entangled, but the man’s movements were effortless. With a flip, he mounted the bull and started punching its face.
Kong Lingwen furrowed her brows and turned her head away. She wasn’t afraid of beasts attacking people but couldn’t stand people beating animals, especially when the wild bull was very gentle by nature.
The man provoked it repeatedly and was the first to strike, which incited the bull’s rage.
Sure enough, at the end of the showdown, the wild bull lay dying on the ground, the man stood covered in blood among the crowd, his face full of a satisfied smile.
"Congratulations to the winner of this match, and congratulations to all the successful betters present!"
The host spoke with a cheerful smile, and cheers erupted from the scene.
Not many people bet on this guy, but those who did invested little and gained much. Spending a little to try their luck, who knew they’d actually win.
Now, many people looked a bit upset, regretting not choosing this brawny man, as the odds were much higher than those of Kuang Niu, doubling the prize money.
As the wild bull was carried off by the staff, the fifth warrior walked out, the one everyone eagerly awaited, Kuang Niu.
Amidst the cheers of the crowd, the robust Kuang Niu entered the ring, a confident smile on his face, and his sharp eyes fixed on the two wolves just released from the cage.
He had encountered these demon wolves before while exploring the mountains, and though they looked menacing, dealing with them was not difficult.
With a command, Kuang Niu struck first, launching a punch at the two demon wolves.
But the two wolves had already sensed his ill intent and leaped to the side, avoiding danger.
"Howl!"
The two wolves raised their heads and howled, after which the male wolf swiftly lunged at Kuang Niu.
Kuang Niu scorned them, thinking to kill the male wolf with one punch when it got close.
But he underestimated them, unaware that the female wolf was covertly approaching, taking a bite out of his rear.
"Ahhh!"
Kuang Niu cried out in pain, swinging his fist to send the female wolf flying.
"Awooo!"
The male wolf let out an angry howl and charged forward frantically, sinking its teeth into Kuang Niu’s arm.
Kuang Niu never expected the two small demon wolves to be so formidable, actually managing to injure him. Luckily, the bite wasn’t in a vital area and wouldn’t affect his fight.
At this moment, the female wolf had blood trickling from its mouth, lying dying on the ground. The male wolf, thoroughly provoked, bared its sharp fangs and charged at him.
Initially, Kuang Niu thought the two small wolves were simply insignificant, but now he felt a bit uneasy.
He immediately activated his Cultivation Technique, channeling True Qi within him, wishing to quickly end the fight to avoid any mishaps.
The crowd widened their eyes, expecting to see Kuang Niu smash the two demons with a single punch.
Just as True Qi was converging in his palm, he suddenly felt a stabbing pain in his abdomen. This fleeting distraction allowed the male wolf to clamp its jaws onto his arm, refusing to let go.
"Ah!! Beast, let go!"
Kuang Niu screamed, ready to smash his fist on the male wolf’s head, but the stabbing pain from his Dantian became even more intense, causing his legs to buckle, and he knelt on the ground.
Seeing this, the crowd couldn’t stay calm, as they had placed heavy bets on Kuang Niu’s victory.
