Chapter 703: A Gentleman Judges by Deeds, Not Intentions
Long before the Vajra Ape went on stage, Yang Cheng had already used his X-ray Vision to check it out in the iron cage, pinpointed its fatal weak spot, and gave Wu Ji a way to attack.
Sure enough, this kid was sharp; he got it in one go, seized the chance and went all in for the kill, not holding back in the slightest.
Back when he was this age himself, he didn’t have this kind of courage; he had to admit this kid was really worth taking in, bound to become someone big in the future.
"Holy shit! No way, this kid is actually gonna win!"
"How’s that even possible! That beefed-up Vajra Ape got turned into a total wimp after just a few punches from him, are they taking us for idiots?"
"And they still say this isn’t rigged? This is obviously gifting money to No. 66. I was wondering how he could just throw out ten billion like nothing—turns out he already knew this kid would win."
Everyone was fuming inside, especially the group who’d just taken a huge loss betting on Kuang Niu; all their eyes were viciously locked onto where Yang Cheng was sitting.
Kong Lingwen felt the hostile gazes coming at them from all directions and asked nervously, "Yang Cheng, all these people are staring at us. They’re not planning to make a move, are they?"
Yang Cheng chuckled lightly. "They wouldn’t dare. This is the Jile Clubhouse. Anyone who dares cause trouble here is basically booking an early one-way ticket to bliss."
As soon as he finished speaking, a deafening boom suddenly came from the ring. Kong Lingwen shuddered all over from the scare and hurriedly looked toward the stage.
They saw the Vajra Ape lying on the ground, thick blood slowly flowing out from the back of its head. Its chest was still faintly rising and falling, but it clearly had no fight left.
Wu Ji raised his foot and kicked hard at the Vajra Ape’s heart. Beads of sweat trickled down his forehead one by one, and his expression was twisted and ferocious.
Only when the Vajra Ape completely stopped breathing did he flop back onto the floor, gulping for air like he was about to drop dead from exhaustion.
Wu Ji lifted his gaze toward Yang Cheng and gave him a slight smile.
He knew perfectly well that without Big Bro’s reminder, there was absolutely no way he could’ve beaten the Vajra Ape.
Maybe Big Bro did it just for the money, but a gentleman judges by deeds, not intentions—either way, he was his lifesaver.
The arena fell utterly silent; everyone stared, eyes bulging, like they’d just seen a ghost.
If Kuang Niu’s death had already been unexpected, then Wu Ji managing to defeat the Vajra Ape was basically a pig climbing a tree.
A scrawny teenager beating the Vajra Ape until its head was covered in blood—this was way too outrageous.
"No, seriously! How the hell is this possible? How did he even pull that off?"
"That’s a Vajra Ape—its hide is tough enough that even knives can barely cut it. And this kid just used his fists to beat that beast to the ground. Are his fists made of iron or something?"
Everyone stared straight at Wu Ji. He slowly climbed up from the floor, wiped the sweat off his forehead, and bowed in Yang Cheng’s direction.
"Yang Cheng, you said you were going to help him just now, but he won the match all on his own."
Kong Lingwen hadn’t noticed Yang Cheng make a move at all. He even thought he had good eyes, spotting this young kid at a glance and getting Yang Cheng to bet on him.
"I helped him as soon as the match started. I used True Qi to transmit my voice and told him the Vajra Ape’s fatal point. Didn’t you notice his punches were all aimed at the back of its head?"
Hearing this, Kong Lingwen looked utterly shocked, then pressed his lips into a smile. "So that’s it. You’re something else—just one look and you figured out the Vajra Ape’s weak spot."
Everyone in the arena was looking really sour, because out of the whole crowd, only Yang Cheng had placed a bet on Wu Ji—and he’d gone in with ten billion in one shot.
It wasn’t just the others who were pissed; even Cao Zhihao’s face had gone dark.
The original setup was that only one person would survive in the end, and then the people who’d bet on that brute would split the prize money according to the odds.
They just hadn’t expected a "No. 66" to jump out halfway, dropping ten billion on Wu Ji, and the kicker was—he actually won.
"Motherfucker! That kid really hit the jackpot. Even something like this falls into his lap."
Cao Zhihao was seething, his face so dark he didn’t even spare the beauty beside him a good look; he just shoved her away with one hand.
No. 66 had bet ten billion, and he’d picked Wu Ji, who had the highest odds. That meant he was unquestionably the biggest winner.
"Hao, do you know who that kid is? Ring any bells?"
Gao Peng asked curiously.
"No idea. Maybe he’s some rich kid from a big city. Anyone who can casually throw out ten billion is no ordinary guy. We’ll go over and get acquainted later—might even be able to pull an investment for the family company."
As soon as Cao Zhihao finished, Gao Peng’s eyes lit up.
He couldn’t sell Yunmei Company, so right now he could only hit up friends for money. But even if his friends pooled everything together, it’d only amount to one or two billion at most, so he was hoping to borrow from No. 66.
Off that final match alone, that kid had made a killing. Ten billion probably didn’t mean much to him at all.
Gao Peng finally saw a glimmer of hope and let out a long breath of relief, already plotting how to cozy up to No. 66.
The results of tonight’s matches were so far off the expected script that some people broke down completely. After it ended, they started screaming and yelling in the arena.
Yang Cheng, as the biggest winner of the night, was invited to the Supreme VIP suite of the clubhouse to enjoy the top-level service.
Not long after, there was a knock at the door. The manager walked in with three women, all dressed in skimpy bikinis that perfectly showed off their curves.
Before betting, everyone had picked a "crush," and these three were the ones Kong Lingwen had casually selected. Standing together, they were like a hundred flowers blooming, each with her own distinct kind of beauty—two of them had that skinny, bony aesthetic, while the other one was slightly plump and voluptuous, with two mounds of Soft Jade on her chest that were about to spill out.
Yang Cheng’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He had to admit, they were really stunning. Taking them home was out of the question, but a night of springtime fun would be more than enough.
"Sir, these three are the crushes you chose. When you leave the clubhouse, you can take them with you."
The manager said with a squinty smile, then the three women began swaying their hips as they walked toward Yang Cheng.
They were quite pleased with this client. After all, his build was tall and robust, no beer belly in sight, and just from his voice and the visible skin, they could tell he was a young, handsome guy.
More importantly, he was the biggest winner of the night, having just pulled in tens of billions. Tagging along with this hottie, they could live a life of luxury from now on.
Just as the three were about to get close, Kong Lingwen stepped in and blocked them, saying with clear displeasure, "Who said you could come over? This is my man. I just picked you three at random earlier—it was never possible for him to take you away."
At those words, the three of them froze on the spot. Their beautiful eyes immediately filled with tears as they looked pitifully at Yang Cheng.
"Sir, you really don’t want us?"
"We’re already yours. If you send us back, we’ll have no way to survive."
"Sir, we won’t cost you much. Just feeding and housing us is enough. Please, take us with you."
