Chapter 687: Medicinal Herbs Hijacked

The next morning.

Yang Cheng woke up refreshed, picked up his phone and saw a message from Tao Qianqian.

"I’m sorry, Brother Cen. I understand your attitude, and I won’t disturb you anymore."

Below were a few pictures of hers—not overly revealing, but still enough to make one’s heart race.

Yang Cheng couldn’t resist saving all of Tao Qianqian’s pictures, then got up to dress and prepare to go downstairs for breakfast.

When he arrived at the dining room, everyone was already seated, including Kong Lingchuan, who had never had much presence.

Kong Jingshan’s face was grave, filled with worries.

"Uncle Kong, I can cure all the patients today. You don’t need to worry. After we resolve this issue, we’ll think of a way to deal with them."

Yang Cheng gently comforted him, completely unconcerned about Kong Lingchuan.

After all, even if he didn’t mention it, Cao Ruibin should know he was about to fight back. No person, no matter how mild, can remain tolerant forever.

Kong Jingshan sighed: "Xiaochen, the police just called. They’ve confirmed that the substances found in the hotel are the source of the poison, but based on existing evidence, they can’t prove who did it. So now they can only issue a statement declaring that someone deliberately poisoned."

"That’s enough; at least it proves that the Kong Family is innocent. Plus, we’ve done our best to treat the patients, and we can use it to advertise our Cooling Scar Cream."

Yang Cheng had long known that if Cao Ruibin could do such vicious things, he wouldn’t leave any evidence. Getting the police involved was just to prove the Kong Family’s innocence.

The conflict between the Kong Family and Cao Family is already out in the open; even without evidence, everyone knows it will affect Cao Ruibin’s reputation.

"You’re right; it’s better to retaliate quickly than try to prove oneself. Xiaochen, do you already have a plan?"

Kong Jingshan asked curiously.

Yang Cheng smiled and nodded: "Of course, but you don’t need to worry. I’ll handle it myself."

The two tacitly avoided discussing it further. Kong Lingwen understood and didn’t ask much, but Kong Lingchuan was anxious, eager to know his real intentions.

If he learned Yang Cheng’s plan, he’d immediately inform his uncle to be cautious and not fall into a trap.

After breakfast, everyone got in the car and drove toward the hospital.

"Uncle Kong, you’re familiar with Gao Liang from Yun Mei, right? Tell me about him."

Yang Cheng asked.

Kong Jingshan nodded and then spoke slowly.

"Gao Liang is not a local from Zhonghai, but his family has a significant background. He leveraged the Gao Family’s influence to open several companies in Zhonghai; most of them failed, but Yun Mei persisted, growing increasingly successful."

"Over the years, Yun Mei has completely taken over Zhonghai’s cosmetics market. Whenever new companies try to enter, he suppresses them. So when he learned that the masks you and Lin Wen produced were selling well, he started causing trouble."

"Gao Liang is vindictive. After I warned him on the phone last time, he held a grudge. Conveniently, I offended Cao Ruibin, and these two sneaky individuals joined forces, causing a lot of trouble for me recently."

After hearing this, Yang Cheng understood his character—it was someone with no morals, willing to use any means for profit.

"Do you know anything about his family situation?"

Yang Cheng asked.

"Gao Liang is quite lecherous, with many mistresses. But he seems to have some health issues; despite having many women, he only has one son and one daughter."

"His son, Gao Peng, is a good-for-nothing—always indulging in drinking, dining, entertainment, gambling. It’s said that over the years, Gao Liang has paid off numerous gambling debts for his son. But with only one son, he can’t bear to discipline him and can only pamper him."

Upon hearing this, Yang Cheng’s eyes suddenly lit up, and he conceived a plan.

Kong Jingshan noticed his thoughts and asked curiously: "Xiaochen, have you figured out what to do?"

"Just wait and see. I’ll first deal with Gao Liang, then with Cao Ruibin—one by one—and none will escape."

Yang Cheng smiled cunningly, clearly plotting something.

Seeing him so confident, Kong Jingshan’s mood improved significantly; however, he felt slightly burdened, unsure whether to share something with him.

He decided to wait until these annoying matters were resolved before speaking, so as not to affect Yang Cheng’s mood.

The car quickly arrived at the hospital. Yang Cheng just went upstairs and saw a group of patient relatives standing in the hallway.

"The doctor is here!"

"Everyone, make way. Don’t block the path."

The crowd hurriedly cleared a path and welcomed Yang Cheng into the ward, where he began treating patients.

With yesterday’s experience, he was faster and more adept in his treatments.

After treating several patients, Yang Cheng remembered something important: they were running out of Cooling Scar Cream, and quickly asked: "Lin Wen, have all the herbs I requested arrived?"

Originally, they wanted to produce Cooling Scar Cream last night, but they were missing an ingredient, so they had to temporarily source it from a nearby city; thus, they could only make it today.

"They’ve arrived in Zhonghai; the driver is on the way. We’ll borrow the hospital’s space to make the medicine later, saving some time."

Kong Lingwen had called early in the morning to confirm the herbs’ arrival in Zhonghai, which relieved her.

Yang Cheng nodded, preparing to go to the next ward when Kong Lingwen’s phone rang.

She immediately answered, asking: "Uncle Wen, where are the herbs now?"

"Miss, several cars are blocking our path up ahead—they might be Cao Ruibin’s people. Our people aren’t a match for them; quickly send someone to assist us, or the herbs might not be safe."

Kong Lingwen knew these herbs were crucial, so she had sent her most trusted butler, Wen Xu, but she hadn’t expected Cao Ruibin to be so well-informed to send people directly to intercept.

Her expression turned dark, and she took a deep breath: "Uncle Wen, send me your location; I’ll dispatch people immediately. Hold out a little longer, and don’t let them destroy the herbs."

"Understood."

After hanging up, Kong Lingwen quickly approached Kong Jingshan to explain the situation, urging him to send his trusted people.

"All my people are dispatched across various companies; they can’t be summoned back quickly."

Kong Jingshan furrowed his brow, realizing that he could only hire additional security guards from the agency, as he had a few bodyguards with him.

At this moment, Yang Cheng suddenly spoke: "Uncle Kong, let me go."

"You go? That’s impossible—you need to continue treating the patients here!"

Kong Jingshan widened his eyes; these patient families weren’t easily appeased, especially Madam Gong.

If Yang Cheng left now, Young Master Gong would have to wait until tomorrow for treatment, and that rich lady would likely throw a fit again.
