Chapter 923 - 908: Bring the Liquor

After about two hours of dead sleep, Old Xu suddenly sprang up from the chair, the abrupt movement really gave Lin Junfu a fright.

Only after confirming nothing was wrong did Lin Junfu turn his head back with a wry smile and say, "It’s still early, Old Xu, keep sleeping. Tang and I are on watch, it’s fine."

"No! I was only thinking about tonight’s operation just now, there’s something big I totally forgot!!"

Their talking woke Derek from his dreams as well. He stared blankly at everything in the car, as if he still hadn’t figured out where he was.

"What big thing?" Lin Junfu asked nervously. He knew anything that could make Old Xu say "something big" was definitely no small matter.

"Heh, actually it’s nothing much." Old Xu also realized he was making a fuss, and hurried to explain, "This time we came out, we came out with a mission."

"A mission?"

"Heh, those bratty little Japan kids told us to haul back three packages of supplies. Look at me, actually forgetting something this big. If I slept till the afternoon, then we’d really be in trouble." Old Xu patted his own forehead, obviously annoyed at his own carelessness.

"Tang, how much stuff did we bring out in total this time?" On hearing this, Old Lin immediately pressed him.

Tang Xiaoquan thought for a moment: "Uncle Zhao prepped a week’s rations for us. Filling three backpacks is no problem."

For this trip, with Old Xu and Derek, the action team had eight people in total. Just the rice on the truck alone weighed 20 jin.

At this, Old Lin immediately followed up: "Since that’s the case, Old Xu, take as much as you can. We’re moving tonight anyway, no point in us holding onto it. You guys haul more back now, then later you’ll be able to hold out longer at the school."

Best of both worlds—who would’ve thought the original split-team plan would end up working like a charm now.

Old Xu also felt it made sense, so he didn’t refuse. After all, the more stuff they took back, the easier it would be to break down the Japan students’ guard.

You know how it is—someone who’s been poor too long suddenly gets rich, it’s real easy for them to get giddy and lose their head.

And that was exactly the feeling Old Xu wanted to give the Japan students. The happier they were, the smoother things would go tonight.

All three backpacks were stuffed bulging full, and Old Xu was very satisfied when he saw them.

Tang Xiaoquan, however, couldn’t help feeling a bit worried. Seeing this, Old Lin asked curiously, "Tang, what’s with the long face?"

"Oh, I was thinking, with that much stuff packed, won’t it be a pain for Old Xu and the others to climb back up the building?"

That was indeed a problem. On hearing this, Old Lin immediately furrowed his brows and turned to look at Xu Renjie.

Xu Renjie waved his hand indifferently. "This stuff is nothing. Compared to wartime weapons and gear, it’s a lot lighter."

But after saying that, as if something occurred to him, he turned his gaze to the still-groggy Derek. "Derek, you up for it?"

"One is no problem, two might be a bit..."

"Heh, one is enough, I’ll handle the rest."

With the supplies issue settled, Old Xu’s last worry was gone.

"Oh right, Old Xu, you said Zhao’s running a fever—should we bring some medicine over?" Remembering Old Xu mentioning Zhao Lina’s condition, Lin Junfu felt it was necessary to send Uncle Zhao’s daughter some meds.

"Yeah, Old Xu, Wei Yang just put together a med kit for us. She labeled and sorted all the basic meds and left them in the car, so..."

"No point! It’s not that those Japan students don’t have medicine, they just won’t give it. Even if we bring some, it’ll get confiscated!" The now fully awake Derek cut off Tang Xiaoquan’s suggestion.

But Tang Xiaoquan didn’t give up. "Bring just a little, keep it on you. They’re all pills, they probably won’t check that carefully."

Old Xu lowered his head and thought for a bit. "Where’s the med kit? Bring it here, let me see."

"Over there, under Derek’s seat. Derek, hand it over!" Old Lin pointed at Derek’s feet as he spoke.

Once he fished the med kit out, Derek handed it to Xu Renjie.

Old Xu opened the box and, sure enough, just like Tang Xiaoquan had said, Wei Yang had arranged all the bottles and vials neatly.

And the "little missy," to make it easier for everyone to pick meds for emergency treatment, had even carefully written the basic uses and dosages for each medicine on paper for everyone to reference.

But none of that was Old Xu’s focus right now. He scanned through the med kit and finally fixed his eyes on a small pill bottle.

"Good, with this it’ll be easy to handle!"

His muttering was heard by Tang Xiaoquan at his side, and the young man couldn’t help asking curiously, "Old Xu, what’s good?"

"Oh, here’s the situation..." He went over how he’d gotten the pill for Zhao Lina, and after hearing him out, Old Lin and the others were all seething with righteous anger.

"Motherfuckers! Those dogshit bastards, they’re really something, huh. Company commander, tonight let me help you teach them a proper lesson!"

"Hmph! Of course we’re going to give them a good lesson! Thirteen! Not a single one of those thirteen is walking away!"

Listening to Old Xu and the others, Derek unconsciously clenched his fists as well.

Jiang Kou!! Just you wait for tonight!!

Old Zhao took out one pill and slipped it into his pocket.

Old Lin felt his old buddy was being way too stingy, grabbed the pill bottle, and tried to stuff a few more pills into Old Xu’s hand.

But Old Xu refused them all. His reason was simple: Jiang Kou had only given him one pill at the time, so if he had one in his pocket, even if it was found, he could say he hadn’t taken it yet. But if he had more than one, he wouldn’t be able to talk his way out of it.

After explaining all this to Old Lin, Old Lin stopped insisting. Fine. With the preparations for supplies done, that phase was basically wrapped up.

But they’d barely rested for a short while when Tang Xiaoquan, who had been staring blankly out the window, suddenly turned his head. "Old Xu, I feel like you should bring some more stuff back."

The abrupt, out-of-nowhere remark left Old Xu clearly not keeping up with the younger man’s train of thought.

"What else do you want me to bring? Don’t tell me you want me to bring those ’things’ those animals asked for and hand them over to them!?"

This time it was Tang Xiaoquan’s turn to be stunned. He’d never done anything in bed, so of course he didn’t get what Old Xu meant by "those things" at first. But after a brief daze, he recalled what Old Xu had mentioned before. He immediately gave a bitter smile and waved his hands repeatedly, denying it out loud: "Heh, Old Xu, what are you thinking? How could I tell you to bring that crap to further harm our Huaxia people?"

"Then what do you mean?"

"Liquor! I think you should bring liquor back! Think about it, you guys bringing back all these supplies today—the Japan students are definitely going to be happy. A big feast and extra portions are a given. And if there’s strong liquor on the side to keep them company, heh, I’m sure they’ll drink themselves silly. If we get them to go ’not going home till they’re drunk,’ then tonight’s operation..."

At this point, there was no need for Tang Xiaoquan to say any more. Old Xu didn’t even have to think before slapping his thigh and exclaiming, "Great idea! We should definitely bring liquor!"(To be continued. If you like this work, you’re welcome to go to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation tickets and monthly tickets.
