Chapter 926 - 911: Kiln Factory Turmoil (Part 2)
The saying goes, hardships and pain make one grow. Though Wang Qiang hasn’t reached full enlightenment because of his "green hat" incident, some changes are becoming apparent in the details.
Thumbs up, Hua Biao, after confirming the situation in the guard room, gave Wang Qiang a thumbs up.
"One move to kill the enemy, pretty impressive, Qiang Zi!"
Solemnly nodding, Wang Qiang did not become arrogant or boastful. He picked up his bow and returned to his original position. This made Hua Biao somewhat awkward.
Watching Wang Qiang savoring the moment, Old Lin lightly exhaled. The heart that was hanging finally settled down a bit.
"Trouble" approached, and Old Lin led the team to infiltrate the factory area.
Using the factory buildings as cover, the group of survivors gradually crept towards the depths.
After moving about 5, 6 meters, Old Lin raised his hand to signal a halt.
Without him needing to say it, everyone could deduce from the increasingly clear footsteps that zombies were approaching.
Hua Biao moved forward again. When it comes to assassination, apart from Li Xiaoxin, no one here is more skilled than him.
Since the creature was just around the corner, and its facing direction was unknown, Hua Biao couldn’t peek to confirm, but this didn’t stop him from using other means to identify.
Hua Biao gently raised the steel blade in his hand, then with a very slow speed, extended the blade out.
When the length was right, he slowly rotated the blade surface, then using the reflection on the blade, he saw a zombie staggering towards them.
Whether or not it heard their movements, Hua Biao wasn’t sure.
But even if it did, it didn’t matter, because Hua Biao was already prepared to kill it.
He signaled the group to press against the wall. All the survivors stood straight, trying to align their bodies with the factory wall in a straight line.
Soon, the shuffling footsteps of the zombies got closer. Hua Biao, emotionless, drew a short blade from his waist.
Almost simultaneously, as he drew the short blade, the creature’s head appeared in an aligned position.
Stay calm!!
Hua Biao wasn’t in a hurry to act. He continued to maintain his position against the wall, even adjusting his heartbeat to its slowest state.
The zombie, deprived of sound guidance, was like a fool, walking straight forward, completely unaware of the human presence just 50 centimeters beside it.
But after moving half a meter, the zombie finally sensed something amiss. It sniffed the air as if smelling prey, instinctively pausing, ready to turn around.
However, at this moment, Hua Biao, already poised like a lone wolf hunting, leapt from the wall, close enough to grab the zombie’s neck with his hand, then stabbed the creature’s temple with a knife.
Blood flowed down along the blade, and Hua Biao dragged the creature’s corpse back to the wall, with Old Lin’s help, gently laying it on the ground.
The survivors had once again dealt with a creature.
The team moved forward, then using the same method, they successively eliminated 5, 6 solitary zombies.
But when they reached the cargo stacking area, a new problem emerged before the survivors, over ten zombies gathered in one place. Expecting to lure them one by one seemed unrealistic; a "group brawl" appeared inevitable.
After discussing the situation with everyone, Old Lin divided the team for action: "Team one handles the zombies on the left, team two handles the ones on the right. Work together! Wipe out the creatures!"
Regarding how to kill zombies, the survivors, having been through countless battles, needed no instructions from Old Lin.
So once the tasks were assigned, the survivors immediately emerged from behind the wall with their respective weapons.
"Whoosh!" Wang Qiang fired an arrow first, but unfortunately, his aim was slightly off. Although he hit the target, it wasn’t enough to kill it.
But it didn’t matter. Leading the charge, Old Lin rushed forward. Without wasting words, his knife rose and fell, and the zombie whose forehead had been hit by the arrow dropped to the ground with a "bang."
The dull sound wasn’t loud, but in the quiet factory area, it was like an invisible "amplifier" that immediately caught the attention of the surrounding zombies.
Those creatures, previously hanging their heads doing nothing, upon raising their brows and seeing the survivors, showed great "enthusiasm."
The battle started, with two teams each selecting targets, beginning close combat.
Wei Dazhuang’s two scythes danced up and down. Despite two months of "peace," his anger towards the creatures responsible for his "broken family" hadn’t diminished.
Zombies cut down by Wei Dazhuang were almost immediately killed. In a matter of seconds, no less than three zombies fell to this honest farm lad’s scythe.
Wang Qiang was equally brave, though he lacked the wildness of past battles, he was now more calm and rational.
As for Hua Biao and Li Xiaoxin, there was no need to elaborate further; wielding blades and guns is their specialty.
Even with months of "cold hands," they couldn’t be stopped from using the skills that had become their automatic bodily instincts.
The situation on the field was somewhat beyond Old Lin’s expectations. What he originally thought would be a prolonged and brutal battle was now clearly a one-sided slaughter.
Creatures fell one after another to blades, as survivors closed from both sides, gradually forming a circle.
But just when they were about to "win a great victory," a scream broke the sky and rang above their heads.
"Damn it! Climbers!!"
Indeed, because of the commotion at the stockpile area, zombies active inside the factory were inevitably drawn out.
And the first to arrive were the climbers, unrestricted by terrain.
Within visible range, Old Lin spotted at least three climbers on the rooftop.
Faced with these evolved and mutated bloodthirsty creatures from above, the survivors all felt a chill from the depths of their hearts.
"Quick! Quick! Dazhuang, Qiang Zi, hurry and deal with the remaining zombies! Everyone else, watch the rooftop, be cautious of those guys launching an attack."
At this moment, Old Lin couldn’t worry whether Wang Qiang might react impulsively due to emotional instability.
Right now, he needed Wang Qiang and Wei Dazhuang, the two "kill masters," to quickly clear out the zombies within the encirclement, otherwise once the climbers initiate their attack, the trouble would be significant.
As soon as the order was given, Wang Qiang and Wei Dazhuang wasted no time, both wielding their blades charging into the enemy formation.
But just as they started, the climbers also launched their offensive simultaneously.
With powerful leg muscles kicking off the building, the climbers shot forward like cannonballs directly towards the survivors.
Watching the climbers quickly approaching, Old Lin urgently shouted, "Get out the way! Get out the way! Everyone move!"
Undoubtedly, if a creature collided with them head-on, the consequences were unimaginable.
But as Wang Qiang was now entangled with the zombies, he couldn’t escape in time. In his desperation, he used all his strength to pull over a nearby zombie, and aimed a powerful kick towards the direction of the incoming climber. Using the momentum of the kick, he retreated, while the zombie he pulled over accurately met the airborne "cannonball." (To be continued.
