Scholar’s Advanced Technological System
Chapter 173 European Conference on Nuclear Research
At the end of the month, the European Conference on Nuclear Research was held as scheduled in the largest ladder room on the R1 floor.
Early in the morning, Dr. Lu looked at the watch and looked at the new feeling sitting next to him. He asked: “Where's your brother? ”
Yan Xincheng was also confused and shook his head: “I didn't see him. ”
Running to the door early in the morning, nobody opened the door and didn't know if he was awake or where he was going.
The meeting is about to begin, and although such a meeting would not be as credit-signing as a school lecture, it would undoubtedly cost more than losing a few credits if a large number of bosses were to come to the high-level meeting to report on the results.
Sitting next to Yuanping Gao, Mizuki University, he saw that there was an empty seat next to Master Lu and said with a smile: “Lu, listen to you blow your apprentice every day, why didn't you bring him here? ”
Master Lu shook his head: "Who knows what the boy's been up to all day, no matter what. ”
Soon after, the staircase room was quieted down and Lynn Evans, head of CERN, walked up to the podium in front of him and read out the opening remarks of the meeting.
“Thank you to the collaborative team of institutes and laboratories from all over the world for their contribution to this experiment. After years of continuous exploration, we have finally discovered Five Quark Particle PC +. After 12 years of experimentation, the building of the standard model faltered, and we found that our proud theory did not explain everything, but luckily, this time, the standard model predicted once again its existence...”
“… the physical properties of the PC + particles have been completed by the LHCb International Research Cooperation Group. I will not talk about the excess nonsense, please ask the heads of the cooperation groups to come forward and report. ”
A round of applause sounded in the room, Evans nodded slightly and gave the microphone to the long-awaited head of the LHCb International Research Cooperation Group.
The high school attendant sitting under the stage slowly rose and nodded at the Lou Academician sitting next to him, crossing the sidewalk and walking towards the back of the conference room.
As head of the China Research Group, he will speak on behalf of researchers from China to report on the analysis of the whole spectrum.
Walking to the back of the conference room, just as the high scholar was about to ask someone when to enter, he suddenly found a somewhat familiar face in the room.
Apparently, they also saw him, smiled kindly at him, stood up and took the initiative to say hello.
“Hello, High School! ”
“Hello, are you…”
“My name is Ark! ”
Walked up to say hello to the High Academician and the Ark grinned and laughed.
Though his heart was full of tension, his emotions were well controlled, at least not on his face.
No way, it's completely different from the Princeton Academic Conference. Almost half of the big men in theoretical physics are sitting here, and several academics of theoretical physics are here in the country, not to mention the big men who won the Noble Prize.
Neither level nor specification, such an international reporting conference is comparable to an academic conference of an interactive nature.
Not to mention, this is a different state.
“Ark... Are you a Master of Arts with Master Lushen?” Gao Yuanping's face suddenly appeared, but soon it came as a surprise, "how did you get here? ”
The Ark laughed and sighed and said: "... that's a long story. ”
However, just as he was preparing to explain the matter in detail, a CERN staff member suddenly pushed in.
“Is Koyuenhei here? ”
“It's me." The high school attendant nodded.
The staff respectfully said: "It is your turn to report immediately, please come with me… I wonder if it is convenient for you now? ”
“… of course, take me there. ”
He nodded at the staff member, and the High Academician finally looked strangely at the ark, but said nothing more, and followed the staff member away.
……
Standing from the rostrum, the High School Scholar routinely reported on the work of the China Cooperation Group in the analysis of the whole spectrum and answered the questions of several questioners.
Back in the backstage lounge, he was about to talk to that interesting master's student, and it turns out he's gone.
“… unusual. ”
With a full stomach of doubt, the High Academician left the lounge, went back to the venue and sat down in his place.
Looking at the empty position next to his old friend, the high school teacher whispered in a chatty tone.
“Guess who I just ran into in the lounge? ”
Master Lu looked at him doubtfully.
“Touched who? ”
The high school teacher smiled and said, "You're a student. ”
Master Lu looked next to him and found Yan Xin Xin still sitting there, then looked back at him with a strange expression.
“You mean... the guy from the ark? ”
“Yeah.” The high scholar nodded.
Master Lu asked in surprise: "How did he get there? ”
The High Academician shook his head: “I was wondering, too. I was just about to ask the kid what was going on. When I got back, he disappeared again. ”
Master Lu raised his eyebrows slightly and always felt something was wrong, but he couldn't say where.
Soon, however, he set the matter aside.
Because the meeting has moved on to the next stage.
The results of the full spectrum analysis of the "PC +” particles and the reports on the physical properties have been completed, followed by reports on the findings in the LHC experiment.
The people who came to the stage were essentially the researchers involved in the experiment, mostly from the CERN side, as well as the research units and laboratories of the LHC.
After all, when it comes to collision experiments exploring certain particles, not all of the experimental data generated is necessarily about the target particles, and in random collisions of proton beam streams, there are always interesting new discoveries.
Some of these new findings are useful, some are useless, and whether they are useful or not requires discussion by theoretical physicists to determine.
It is even possible to say that the second half of the meeting was most interesting to the researchers present in the project than the previous part of the report on the various studies that had already been completed.
If a new discovery is identified as having significant value, it may even change the CERN's established research plan to become the next experimental direction for the Hadron Collider.
I touched a little book in my pocket, and Reverend Lou wore glasses and was about to remember something.
However, at this moment, he suddenly stunned.
He's not the only one standing still.
And the new sense of sitting next to him, sitting on his other side of the high school, as well as the PhD students of Shui Wood University, all researchers of the LHCb China Cooperation Group...
Because the person standing on the stage is not someone else.
It was his student--
Ark.
……
On the other hand, Peter Higgs and Frank Wilzek are sitting together and chatting about what just happened at the debriefing.
“Do you think LHCb's recent discoveries could produce a Nobel Prize? ”
When asked by an old friend, Peter Higgs thought about it and shook his head: "Undoubtedly, this is the most valuable research of the year, and the Nobel Prize nomination may be enough, but I'm afraid it's still a little difficult to win. This year's medal should be awarded to neutrino oscillations. Why should next year's medal take care of condensed state physics? The Nobel Committee owes Solis too much medal, this time it shouldn't be delayed... Want to start a bet? ”
“Cough, no,” Frank whispered embarrassingly as soon as he heard the bet, "I quit recently, at least don't come to me this month. ”
“I can't believe you quit. What happened?” Peter Higgs looked at an old friend in surprise, he didn't go on Twitter often, and he didn't know what had recently been fired very hot.
“Nothing, just a little unpleasant happened, don't talk about it,” Frank cleared his voice, turning the subject off, “pay attention to the next debriefing meeting, the next is the headlines. ”
“Oh? Anything else to look forward to?” Peter Higgs asked casually.
“Of course, I'm sure you'll be shocked by that discovery," Frank grinned and smiled slightly, “I bet $100. ”
