Scholar’s Advanced Technological System

Chapter 354: Science Is Endless

Founded in 1923, The Age was one of the first news weeklies to emerge more than half a century ago, with considerable influence both in North America and internationally.

As Times evaluates itself, its coverage of various fields is not dedicated to experts in the field, but to all readers who wish to learn about the world through the window of Times.

The business card was taken from the lady and the ark turned to the front.

Under the iconic word "TIME," printed her name - Julie Drake.

Think about it, said the ark.

“If it doesn't take long. ”

Julie smiled. “Don't worry, it won't take you long. ”

With the consent of the Ark, the interview began soon.

Turn on the pen and Julie asks the first question.

“The majority of the public's knowledge of you stems mostly from the Goldbach Speculation and Crawford Awards and thinks you're a mathematician, can you ask what motivated you to look at chemistry? ”

The first question was interesting, and the Ark gave its own answer after a while of serious thought.

“The public likes to label a stranger based on their common sense, which helps them understand quickly. In fact, however, this labelling is often one-sided. The more research involving frontier areas, the more difficult it is to categorize a problem in the same way as primary education. ”

“For example, my research on modified PDMS films is undoubtedly a material problem, but also an organic chemistry problem, and it involves the analysis of its physical and chemical properties, as well as the physics of condensation. And it can also be a mathematical problem, considering the computational modeling I have used myself. ”

Julie asked, "So why the battery? ”

The Ark laughed and gave an uncertain answer with a half-joking tone: “Probably because my phone is always powerless at critical times, so I want to make it stand by longer? ”

After hearing this answer, Julie and her assistant couldn't help but bend their corners.

After a pause, she continued, “Is that really the reason? ”

Ark: “That's all I can think of if I have to think of a reason. In fact, however, many people, including my colleagues at the Institute of Advanced Studies, do not have any particular motives for doing research. If I had to, because that's where the problem is, and it just so happens to interest me. ”

Julie's eyes lit up: "So you think interest is the best mentor? ”

The ark nodded: “Kind of. ”

Turn the notes you carry to the next page and Julie continues to ask.

“The next question may be more sensitive and I wonder if you would suggest talking about issues related to personal assets? ”

The Ark thought about it and said, "It depends on what the problem is, but I hope it doesn't involve a specific amount...”

He's not sure how much Starry Sky Technologies has made for him so far.

After all, for him, the number on the card was a tool to help him achieve his purpose, not the purpose itself. Unless research requires a lot of money, he generally rarely pays attention to the company.

Julie laughed understandably: "Don't worry, the interview certainly won't cover that. ”

After a pause, she continued.

“Startech has earned you hundreds of millions of dollars because of the patent for modified PDMS films, and it is predictable that the birth of lithium-sulfur batteries will also make you one of the biggest beneficiaries. ”

“There is no doubt that you have lived a life of envy to all scientists, studying topics of interest to you as you please, without having to worry about funding for research. Many people describe your research career with success, so how do you rate yourself? ”

The question was not very well answered and the ark had been thinking for a long time.

After a while, he answered openly.

“What I enjoy more than the wealth that patents bring me is the pleasure that science itself brings me. As for the numbers in the bank cards… they are certainly useful. As you said, with them, I can do whatever research I want without thinking too much about its economic, cultural and political value. ”

“As for success,” paused for a moment, the ark laughed and continued, “… I think science is endless. I'm far from worthy of this review until I'm completely unable to think in bed. ”

After more than 20 minutes of interviews, Julie asked him a lot of questions about life, research, and teaching the job, and Ark responded selectively.

At the end of the interview, Julie asked the last question.

“May I ask your plans for the future? ”

“In the future," the Ark raised its head, closed its eyes for a while and carefully pondered the question, giving me an uncertain answer, "possibly physics. ”

Julie: “Physics? ”

“Yes,” the ark nodded, "theoretical physics has always been an area of interest to me, because it is the closest to mathematics, and in fact I have been involved in a lot of research in this area. And most importantly, there is a problem that still haunts me. ”

Signal for 750GeV.

While mainstream views have become more and more prevalent that this is just a beautiful misunderstanding, the Ark believes that his calculations will not deceive his eyes.

Behind that signal must be an amazing secret.

Julie smiled, “This is a very bold decision, and I sincerely wish you success, and there is one last thing you need to do. ”

The ark and Yan Yue said: “What is it? ”

“If you don't mind, we'd like to take a photo of you as a cover for the next issue of Time Weekly. But not here. When will you have time tomorrow? ”

That's it.

Well said.

The ark smiled and nodded with joy.

“Absolutely not. ”

He has always been very confident in his handsome manner.

Julie left with her assistant and photographer when and where the cover was set.

As she said, the whole interview did not take up much of his time.

From the beginning, the club members hiding next to each other finally leaned over after they had left.

The first one was Jimmy, and the freckle-faced boy was curious, “Coach... who are those people? ”

The ark answered casually: "Reporter. ”

A Mexican fellow wondered, “Are you going on the news? ”

“Kind of.” Looking at the worshippers, the Ark laughed and said, "Come on, if you win the championship, I'm sure a lot of people will be willing to interview you. ”

The Mexican guy asked with interest, "May I ask, which television station are those reporters from? ”

“Not a TV station...” Actually, the Ark was wondering why they were carrying a camera, obviously just paper media.

To capture the moment?

After hearing that it was not a television station, there was a lack of interest.

Excited for nothing.

I couldn't get on TV.

However, at this point, the Ark made up for half of what it had said.

“It's just Time magazine. ”

"“ … "

The word "just” has nothing to say.

Ultimately, it was Jimmy who broke this silence.

Seeing this young man, he whispered.

“… Time magazine will not interview a drone race in the district. ”

This statement speaks for all members of the Princeton Drone Club.

Their advisor is anywhere, and the only thing that's missing in beauty is being too pretentious.

And every time they pretend, they keep their mouths shut.

The ark laughed, didn't rate Jimmy's spit, clapped his hands and ended the conversation.

“Stop wasting time and hurry up and train. This is probably the last time I've coached you before the official game. ”

Jimmy immediately asked, "Coach, what are you doing next week? ”

The ark nodded.

“Starting next week, I'm going to visit Germany for a while, maybe a week or two, or more if it's a long time. If you need lab equipment, you can contact my assistant, Connie. ”

patted the young man on the shoulder, the ark laughed and said.

“I hope to hear about your victory when I get back. ”
