In early April, a major event took place in the mathematics community.

The resolution of the Horn Valley conjecture was announced in a paper published in the latest issue of the Yearbook of Mathematics.

The so-called Corner Valley guess is to arbitrarily write a natural number N, and if it's an odd number, the next step becomes 3N +1. If it is an even number, the next step becomes N2. After a limited number of cycles, it inevitably falls to the bottom of the valley of [4, 2, 1].

This digital game was popular in North America in the 1980s.

Prior to that, natural numbers under 1100 billion had been tested by over-counting and it had been determined that, regardless of the extent of digital expansion during that period, the curse of "421” could not be broken.

Because of this magical characteristic, this conjecture is also known as the "hail conjecture”, because the fall of numbers is as rapid as hail and unstoppable.

And now, Vera et al. 's paper, in mathematical language, gives a definitive proof of this proposition ——

That is, the Cape Valley conjecture was established.

Once published, the paper received wide attention.

Not only is it proof of Horn Valley's speculation that surprises the outside world, but the main completeer of this thesis is a student of the Ark.

As is customary, proof of this significant mathematical conjecture is often not available in a single paper. In addition to the accreditation of authoritative journals, certifiers need to be recognized by the entire mathematical community.

Usually it should be Princeton who arranges a presentation for Vera et al to report on relevant research findings and answer questions from scholars in the field.

But August coincided with the quadrennial International Congress of Mathematicians, which was replaced by a more authoritative international coalition of mathematicians.
