Chapter 553: The Last Difficult

“It turns out…”

Quickly browsing through the code on the screen, a sudden look appeared on the face of the ark.

With his ability to code, it may be difficult to completely eat through the algorithm, but if you understand the logic of the implementation of the entire plasma control program from just a few key command lines, it's no problem for him.

In short, this algorithm is probably a machine learning product.

Based on the mathematical model he left behind and the control scheme edited by Professors of the Software Academy of Jinling University, computational simulations of the primitive motion trajectories in the plasma were carried out in countless experiments, culminating in the modification of the imaginary model to set additional parameters to make it as close as possible to perfection.

In the field of application, when the imaginary model develops to the extreme, it doesn't really make much difference from a simple, pure theory.

At least it doesn't make much difference.

As with the empirical formulas in hydrodynamics, it is unlikely that they will be fully explained by existing theories, but this does not prevent people from using them on aircraft wings, engines, etc.

Collecting such data and revising existing control schemes in constant computational simulations may take years or even decades if they are done by people.

But for Eddie, who is boarding in the over-count, it may be enough to have the simulator run a few times to fix the control plan in the first place.

In this sense, the algorithm of the plasma control scheme isolated from the small AI master program also seems to be an AI developed by machine learning technology.

But this AI is undoubtedly much lower than Em's.

If you think about it, does it count as a child for him and Em?

Yet this terrible idea just flashed away.

The moment it just came out, the ark hurriedly threw it behind its head and turned off the computer.

It always felt like he couldn't look directly at the guy on the computer if he thought so.

……

The matter of the plasma control programme is over, and once the demonstration reactor project has been overbuilt, the backup procedure can be migrated to the past.

The next morning, the Ark got up a morning bed, called Wang Peng, and asked him to bring a cage of soup bags when he came. Drinking soy milk and dipping in ginger and vinegar for breakfast, he left for the STAR Institute.

In addition to the plasma control programme, the final design of the liquid lithium neutron recovery system was another major objective of the Ark's return.

Although his work at the STAR Institute had not stopped during that period on the other side of Oceania, the progress over the past month had been no different from that of the previous month, at least with nothing to describe as a gradual outcome.

This systematic scientific research project is like a bucket of water, and no piece of wood can hit the water if it's too short.

Now that the first wall material has been solved, a series of devices, from core traps to heating components, are steadily advancing under the work of other institutes, yet they, who are responsible for the most core part of the project, have not made substantial progress so far.

Even if no one presses, they are still under a lot of pressure.

Now that the Ark is back from Haizhou, everyone is relieved.

Looking at the ark that appeared at the Institute, I haven't slept well for a few times this month. I laughed a bit.

“When you finally came back, I wondered if you wouldn't come back, I'd come to you. ”

Ark: “Thank you for your hard work. ”

“Not too hard," grabbed some sparse hair, the Constitution sighed richly, "are just a few key problems that cannot be solved, trying to make people bigger. ”

Since joining the institute here, he feels his hair is getting thinner and thinner.

The look on the face of the ark is also a little embarrassing to hear.

He suggested this technology route, but he himself has been busy with other subjects, not this way.

But there's no way, after all, nobody thought it would be so much trouble at first. He thought the plans were so detailed, and the engineers from the nuclear industry group cooperated with them. The problem shouldn't be so great, so he focused on LPC-1 materials.

Turns out, he still underestimated the difficulty of the subject.

“Have a meeting with the people in the assembly center," nodded and the ark gave the order, "I'll get to know the situation first. ”

“Okay, I'll be right there. ”

Nodded, Sheng Xianfu turned and quickly walked towards the office.

After ordering the meeting, the ark first went back to its own office and retrospective the plan to retrieve the liquid lithium neutron recovery system, and then rose to room 1 of the Institute.

Not too long to wait, and soon the rest of the house will be here.

Researchers and engineers from the STAR Institute were brought together, and the Ark held a brief meeting to learn from various departments.

According to the heads of several departments, the research at this stage is still essentially based on the idea he developed before heading to Oceania.

That is, with the LPC-1 material of the first wall passing through and slowing down the neutrons, the subsequent liquid lithium circulation device absorbs the neutrons and releases tritium, and the beryllium reflecting layer coated outside the liquid lithium layer bounces back the incompletely reacted neutrons.

The recovered tritium is present as a gas, recovered at the top of the unit, and re-injected into the reaction chamber to participate in the reaction.

Sitting at the conference table, Professor Li Changxia from Hua's side said, "… tritium trapped in the liquid lithium is collected and solved, just put a filling port on it and inject it into the reactor, like separating helium ash to the filter inside the reactor, or adding a separating device in front of the feed port is theoretically feasible. But now the key is the thickness of the liquid lithium layer, and we did a couple of experiments, but it didn't work very well. ”

The thickness of the liquid lithium layer is a critical issue, either too thick or too thin.

Too thick can trap large amounts of tritium inside the liquid lithium, reduce recovery efficiency, and greatly increase engineering difficulty, while potentially affecting the safety of the entire reactor.

Too thin and natural, it directly affects the rate of tritium growth. After all, the half-life of free neutrons is only about 10.6 minutes, which means that they have to consider neutrons' own decay as well as other elements.

Ideally, neutrons are recovered with liquid lithium before secondary reflection occurs at the beryllium metal interface. However, it is not easy to do this.

Ark: “Did you bring the experimental data? ”

“Here. ”

Sheng Xianfu nodded and immediately handed over a document.

The ship picked up the file and looked closely at it.

Time goes by, and all you can hear in the conference room is the sound of a ticking clock hanging on the wall.

The ark did not speak and the researchers sitting at the conference table waited patiently.

Finally, after reading the information in hand, the ark closed the document.

He acted unexpectedly when everyone thought the big man would come up with an idea.

“The research approach is correct, and these data are important, but some methods are missing, which is why the desired results have not been achieved. You've done a good job this time of year and haven't had much rest in the past month. ”

“This is where the meeting will take place. You can go back and start today with two days off for all departments, and come back the day after tomorrow. ”

The end of the meeting and the holiday arrangements were announced, and in the face of that unexpected sight, the ark lightly photographed the information on the photo table.

“I take this thing back and think about it. ”

“Three days later, I'll give you a result! ”
