Chapter 832: Lehman's Thoughts

Inspiration is often born unintentionally.

Earlier in class, the Ark remembered many of the details that he had overlooked when studying the issue by speculating about Lehman's previous and present life combs.

While these details are often irrelevant, even when remembered, these irrelevant leads can play an astonishing role at critical moments.

Upon returning to the office, the ark sat at the desk, removed the draft paper from the drawer and wrote down what it had previously thought.

“Lehman speculation is the speculation put forward for the study of π (x) functions. Lehman's pioneering work is not to put forward Lehman speculation, but to elevate the study of π (x) from a straight line to a composite plane by introducing the Lehman zeta function. ”

The tip slipped gently across the paper and the ark smoothly wrote down a line of formulas.

[π (x) = ● dtlnt + O (x ^ (12 + ε)) …]

“Lehman guessed the equivalence,” stopped the pen in his hand, lightly lit the paper with the tip of the pen, the expression of the ark gradually appeared a contemplative weight, if thoughtful self-talk, “If Lehman guessed that the gradual formula was established as well, and in turn this gradual formula could also launch Lehman guesses...”

“The key to solving the problem should be in the π (x) function itself! ”

The mind gradually developed a little understanding, but it always felt like something was missing.

It's like a piece of pieces scattered next to a puzzle that has been puzzled up to a third, and it seems like nothing is missing but the most critical key.

If you find it, you can connect all the clues together, and if you don't, everything seems to be just talk.

I did it in front of my desk for an hour, until my stomach sounded a "grunt” and the ark suddenly came back to me.

And when he moved his gaze away from the desktop towards the dusk of gradual distance from the window, he unexpectedly found himself sitting at the desk for so long.

“I couldn't help but call you when I saw that you were too focused." Almost at this time, Assistant Lin's voice came from the side, "Are you going to go to the cafeteria later? ”

Retracting his gaze from the window and climbing up to the sky at night, the ark looked at Lin's assistant standing at the door and thought for a moment: “If you plan to go to the canteen, bring me dinner. ”

He was probably going to stay in the office for a while, and he was going to come back a little later in order not to interrupt the hurry.

Lin Yuxiang blinked and asked: "Do you want to grill the meat? ”

The Ark accidentally looked at her.

“... how did you know I was going to say this? ”

”Lin Yuxiang smiled.

I don't know why, looking at her face and knowing what she looked like, the ark felt a goose bump all over her, and she coughed softly.

“Suddenly I don't want to have a grilled meat mixer tonight. Bring me some braised chicken rice... Thank you. ”

After standing still for two or three seconds, Lin Yuxiang grudgingly glanced at the ark and turned away.

Didn't wait long for kung fu.

Sitting in front of the desk, the ark continued to compute on the draft paper for a while. Lin assistant, who had eaten in the dining room, quickly came back with a box of yellow stewed chicken rice and delivered it to the table of the ark.

Removed the lid of the packing box, the rich chicken juice flavor suddenly poured out, watched the tender yellow chicken and the red and green chili, Ark Zhou suddenly the index finger shouted, three times five times apart to tear the disposable tableware, spoon a spoon of soup poured on the grain full of white rice, the wolf swallowed the tiger.

Perhaps because of its busy schedule, the Ark finds itself seemingly uniquely attached to fast food. When I was in Princeton, I used to go to a bacon sandwich, and when I came back, it wasn't barbecued rice, it was something like barbecued rice.

Although this diet is not very healthy from a nutritional point of view, it is cheap and cheap and satisfying, like instant coffee.

Anyway, how does he eat the kind of meat that doesn't last long, plus the metabolic power of the system, doesn't seem to hinder the diet at all?

Dinner was solved in a hurry, the ark turned on the computer, and a moment later, the ten fingers knocked quickly on the keyboard, transforming what had previously been conceived into a row of papers.

While these things may be only minor ideas, every substantive advance in zeta (s) research has a great impetus to the study of the theory of prime distribution, and so even more insignificant ideas have their value.

Whether or not these things resonate with other scholars and wipe more intense sparks in the collision of ideas, the ark intends to hang them on ARXIV.

After a while of reading other scholars' papers online, when the Ark was about to shut down its computer and pack up and go home, it suddenly received an unexpected video call.

The video request came from his former student, Qin Yue.

Pressing the button on at random, he looked at the familiar face appearing at the end of the screen, and the ark laughed and greeted him with a greeting.

“How have you been? How was your lecturer job in Princeton? ”

The background in the video is AM.

The man sitting in front of the camera, he looked the same as he did four years ago. It's just a little less mune and a little more calm than it was four years ago.

Looking at the mentor sitting in front of the camera, Qin Yue smiled and said: "Very well, remember the members of Ivy Club? The second year after you left, I got it. ”

“They wouldn't reject a mathematician who had proved the Cape Valley's assumptions," the ark joked, paused for a moment and continued, “What's the matter with calling me all of a sudden? ”

Most mathematicians had no curved bowels. They also spoke more directly. They pushed down the glasses on the nose beam, and Qin Yue opened the door and asked.

“Have you been studying Lehman's assumptions lately? ”

Ark: “… what is it? ”

Qin Yue smiled somewhat embarrassingly: “Nothing, I just saw an extra transcript on your academic resume from your personal homepage, related to Lehman's guess, so I was curious. ”

The Ark couldn't help but laugh: "… have you noticed all this? ”

Mom, yeah. Is this about watching me?

General review records such academic curriculum vitae, not to apply for a job at a research institution or something, who would normally stare at this thing?

Looking at the astonishing ark, Qin Yue made a helpless expression: “I dare say that more than half the scholars in the entire mathematics community are watching your movements, and I definitely am not the only one doing this. ”

Though it always feels like there are slots everywhere, the ark doesn't know where to throw them up for a while.

He opened his mouth and nodded his head, endorsing Qin Yue's guess.

“… I have been studying Lehman speculation lately. ”

As soon as I heard that my old mentor was really trying to break through this century-and-a-half problem that haunted the mathematical world, Qin Yue's face suddenly appeared interested in the divine color and sat up and asked.

“Any clues… I mean, do you need my help? ”

Halfway through, he suddenly realized that his request was somewhat presumptuous to a scholar and immediately changed his mouth.

But the ark didn't really care, just laughed and said.

“There are some clues, especially after reading Molina's paper, and I'm even more certain of my speculation. ”

Qin Yue: “What guess... am I convenient to know? ”

“It's not inconvenient, if you can prove Lehman's guess in my way, I'll be happy for you," the Ark laughed, continuing, "To put it right, based on my observations, or speculation, there may be more interesting conclusions to be drawn by pushing forward the lower boundary estimation of the zero-point ratio on the threshold, but it's not realistic to solve Lehman's guess itself through this method. ”

When he heard this, Qin Yue's expression gradually got more serious.

By advancing the method of inferior boundary estimation of the zero-point ratio on the threshold, it can be said that it is one of the mainstream methods currently studying the Lehman conjecture, and the current results on the "best” of the Lehman conjecture are evidenced by this method.

Yet the Ark now says that this route may not be possible. Although his status does not make this sound frightening, it does surprise Qin Yue a little.

“You mean…”

The ark said in a serious tone: "Perhaps we need to go back to the π (x) function itself in order to find the last piece of puzzle to solve this problem. ”
