Scholar’s Advanced Technological System

Chapter 1033 Champagne of Victory

Algebraic and geometric unification has long been a topic.

In fact, this is not a real research direction, and even the general trend towards mathematics is “contrary” to the development of this discipline.

After all, it is well known that as the vast majority of disciplines move from shallow to deep water, the more prosperous and complex the branches of research become, like branches in the bushes.

The same is true of mathematics.

If two centuries ago, an all-powerful and all-around scholar like Gaussian could be found, even a genius like Tao Zhexuan now would simply be able to achieve a limited range of all-powerfulness, as well as a limited range of mastery.

And for the majority of people, not to mention a scholar who is proficient enough to comprehensively master knowledge in a certain direction and to make certain results on it, is already a one-sided scholar.

With the exception of the vast proposition of unified algebra and geometry, where few geniuses suddenly come up with similar ideas, almost no one is bored to think about something more unrealistic than proving a mathematical conjecture, let alone treating it as this year's issue report.

However, it is precisely for this reason that these tasks, which can only be accomplished by a few, have become precious in a long history of mathematics.

Looking back at the times of Descartes and Fermats, geometric graphics were studied through Descartes coordinates, and for the first time, algebra and geometric methods were organically combined.

Imagine how surprised he would be to shove a lighter into the hands of a primitive man and tell him that pressing a button would replace his ten-minute work with a stick?

Although this is the knowledge that even junior high school students can use so far, for the mathematical community at the time, the sensation was arguably groundbreaking, and analytical geometry thus dominated the mathematical community almost for centuries, until 1857, when a genius named Lehman proposed algebraic function theory and the first absolutely invariant variable in the history of algebraic geometry - "deficit”. Algebraic geometry was born to end the old era.

Later, countless geniuses continued to invest in this great cause, constantly adding bricks and tiles to this bridge between algebra and geometry.

By the twentieth century, the three main structures proposed by the Brbaki school captured the entire structure mathematics, and any segment with structural features in mathematics could be defined as consisting of the three parent structures “algebraic structure”, “topological structure” and “sequential structure”.

Grotendik's “theory of concepts" on top of this has ushered in a new era of algebraic geometry, and his lecture in the discussion class, called "The Basics of Algebraic Geometry," was therefore embraced as a bible for secretaries and academics.

Many have invented a novel mathematical tool and many have begun a discipline, but few have been able to connect these intertwined knowledge together to find their unity.

As can be seen clearly by all, the subdivision of disciplines is trending, and later branches of mathematics will grow with the development and prosperity of the discipline and flourish with the efforts of countless ordinary or extraordinary people.

But likewise, people have to do the work that goes on...

In fact, many attempts have been made by new-generation mathematicians after the Grotendic era.

For example, the Hope Moon New Year's theory, in addition to the "cosmic discipline theory" - the "Tessimilar theory” - proposes a “unique and obscure” approach that unites algebraic elements with geometric elements, although few other students can understand what he really wants to do.

And Schultz, for example, his P number and perfect spatial theory, have become popular in recent years and have been widely regarded as one of the most likely theoretical tools to unify algebra and geometry.

However, mathematical methods do not exist in isolation, but are born to solve problems.

And those mathematical assumptions are like test stones, and the mathematical tools and methods that are created can only be accepted by the mathematical community if they really solve the problems that actually exist.

Now Lehman's guess proves that the ark is undoubtedly the closest person to the Holy Grail above the crown.

If, like the Fermata Theorem in Wiles, Lehman's speculative merit had pushed him from the throne of the mortal to the throne, then, one step further, touching the Holy Grail, he would hopefully define new rules for the post-Grotendic era.

Alternatively, renaming the new era by his name would not be a problem.

At the same time, the Ark speculated that it would be necessary to upgrade the mathematical level to LV10 and take the first step on the road to the future to complete this successive task.

Even if the system did not give any prompts for the time being, he could clearly feel this.

After all, if there is any merit beyond what Lehman thought.

I'm afraid there's only one possibility left.

……

The report will be followed by a questioning session.

Because a lot of people haven't eaten their papers yet, even after listening to his explanations, it takes time to digest that huge amount of information.

Apart from Tao Zhexuan and Shultz standing up to ask some interesting questions, the vast majority of the fields of research and scholars farther away from this direction are very silent and cautious. Even when asked, they ask questions that are not very relevant to the proposition of the Lehman conjecture itself.

For example, what exactly is meant by the phrase he said at the last minute of the report - unity of algebra and geometry? Is he already studying the subject, or is he just saying it casually?

The Ark, however, did not want to answer this question, especially since it had little to do with the proof of Lehman's assumptions, so most of the questions about this piece were put to him.

But to be honest, the ark that stood on the stage to answer the question was quite unexpected. After spending so many days at the IMU convention, he didn't find Professor Tao here.

Of course, he didn't know that Professor Tao came overnight from Los Angeles after reading a pre-printed copy of him hanging on Arxiv. Until then, he had no intention of coming to St. Petersburg...

The questioning session did not last long, or even much faster than I had imagined, and in a single round of applause, the ark bowed slightly, ending this landmark presentation.

And it's over, this historic moment.

Unpaused, Professor Holden, Secretary-General of the International Union of Mathematicians, walked up to the podium with a bottle of champagne and handed it to the Ark.

“It is a gift from the Hotel Clinchia and the heart of all of us. Open it, this century-old journey has finally reached its end, celebrating with wine. And this glory of history belongs to you! ”

In a round of applause, the ark took the champagne and sincerely placed the lower part.

“Thanks.”

“You're welcome… By the way, if you intend to publish your results in your paper, I recommend Mathematical Inventions to you. In fact, I sincerely suggest that you do so, because you've published enough articles in the Mathematics Yearbook, and if you keep doing that, you're going to have to remove three of the top four. ”

In the second half, Professor Holden spoke in a voice that only two people could hear, but also in a joking tone.

After hearing it, the ark stunned slightly and laughed and said.

“I'll think about it. ”

In the eyes of all, the ark followed Professor Holden's instructions and swayed vigorously before opening the champagne. Sweet bubbles are like wings, ceilings, and a lot of front-line listeners.

Originally trying to apologize to these unfortunate guys, the Ark saw that instead of being angry, they were sprayed with joy, standing up with a laugh, pulling wet marks on their chests and showing off their friends. Instead, they were not sprayed with the expression of envy and remorse on the faces of several professors.

So, what I'm sorry for, I just did.

The atmosphere reached its peak.

A glass of wine was poured into the high foot cup handed over by the hotel staff, and the ark raised its glass to the audience throughout the room, after which it was returned to Professor Holden along with the rest of the champagne, waving greetings and walking out of the hall.

At this moment, journalists outside the report hall have been waiting for too long.

If the guards at the door hadn't blocked them, the moment they heard the applause and whistle coming from the report hall, they'd want to rush in and find out.

So when the report hall door opened and saw the ark appearing at the door, a group of journalists immediately surrounded it like a shark smelling a smell.

“Professor Ark, has Lehman's guess been proven?! ”

“Would you like to go to the French Academy and collect a one-million dollar bonus from the Clay Institute? What will you do when you get your bonus? Will it be donated to those who need it? ”

“I hear your research was influenced by your student, Ms. Vera Puyey, is this true? ”

“Does Lehman's guess that being resolved mean that the rules of modern cryptography will be rewritten? Is our card and social account no longer secure? ”

“Professor Ark...”

In the face of a crazy microphone reaching out to him, and the questions spilled like beans, the ark did not answer a word, and under the escort of a group of big men, the footsteps continued in the direction of the elevator.

Just a few minutes ago, the transfer was arranged.

Visas and other formalities have been completed.

If not unexpectedly, Vera will be able to fly directly from St. Petersburg to Shanghai today on a transfer plane, where experts from Hospital 301 will take over the care work.

And his flight back home, before the closing ceremony tomorrow morning.

Instead of answering those boring questions, there are a lot of things waiting for him to do...
