Scholar’s Advanced Technological System

Chapter 1143 “Natural Disasters”

Exceptional silence in the reporting room.

More advanced civilizations emerged within the horizon.

Members of parliament here face to face, exchanging surprises in each other's eyes.

The problem is very difficult, because there has never been a similar situation in the history of the Empire, and the only intelligent alien creature they have discovered is just an uncultivated bipedal lizard on a frontier planet that can't even start a fire and can only use some natural tools.

The Coffee Empire is not interested in establishing diplomatic relations with alien races, let alone in the interconnection of alien races, and is able to produce and satisfy all consumer goods needed by its citizens. Once diplomatic relations with mutually recognized coordinates have been established, it means that they must redevelop armaments that have been phased out for many years, guard against possible threats and face the risk of a clash of ideas.

And it is certain that backward civilizations must be at a disadvantage in the conflict of thought.

They do not even need to do anything extra, relying solely on the passive output of values can create great uncertainty for their societies.

Just look at the trouble that the widely spread Oracle has caused so far.

Panic sounds everywhere.

Sensitivity to information is both a virtue of Cocaine civilization and an imperfection that they cannot remove.

Two fingers pressed against his forehead and the consul was caught in contemplation.

This is a common habit for Cocaine people to think about issues, which makes them feel like they are infinitely closer to the spirit of the great universe. Yet even the Spirit of the Universe could not answer the questions in his heart.

The silence lasted about 10 minutes.

He said.

“You said he contacted us on his own initiative. ”

“Yes,” Dr. Ryan nodded in the face of the questioning consul and said earnestly, "at first we thought that the strange drip was some kind of detector, or some kind of weapon capable of destroying the planet, but after careful research, the results were unexpected by all of us. ”

“As I said, he leaves an intermittent trajectory on our gravitational wave detector like a bunch of soap bubbles, and the information contained in each bubble is highly coincident. ”

“It is obviously impossible to be a detector, because in theory there is no information - at least the way we know how to disseminate it - that can keep up with its speed. ”

“At the same time, it can't be a weapon, and no weapon will tell you so loudly that I'm on my way. Even lengthening the hyperspace channel can increase its secrecy by countless times. ”

“So we deduced that it could be something similar to broadcasting, with some kind of hyperspace medium releasing constant fixed gravitational wave signals around it. ”

The crows in the chamber were silent.

Everyone frowned.

Though complex physical theories may be difficult for them, Dr. Ryan has made the theories superficial and understandable.

And this is true under the general logic of war, which, if it were a weapon, would surely do everything possible to conceal its existence without the need for such a high profile.

The Minister of Science and Technology frowned and asked.

“You said it was broadcasting… but how do you understand their language? ”

Dr. Ryan looked at him and responded calmly.

“Physics is the universal law of the universe, and mathematics is the universal language of the universe, and all we need is a right angle triangle and a simple line of formulas like 'a ² + b ² = c ²' to let each other know that civilization exists here. And all we need to do is build on these two pieces of information and take on a mathematical proposition that we've just solved, or have not solved, so that we can give each other a rough idea of our civilization… because, to a large extent, the mathematical level is positively related to the development of the latter. ”

Consul: "… so? ”

Ryan: “They did something similar. ”

“By analyzing the information transmitted in gravitational waves, we get a series of complex mathematical expressions, similar to cryptographic tables. It took us a while, but we finally figured them out..."

The fist resting on the table was squeezed tight, the Secretary of Defense said immediately.

“What did the news say? Diplomatic request? Or declare war? Or ——”

“Neither,” Ryan shook his head, "and they showed us their civilizational level openly and then conveyed to us… that ‘message’. ”

Aerial light blue light particles float slowly and converge into a group of images made up of special arithmetic characters. These images stopped slightly in the air and quickly dispersed into countless photoparticles to regroup again, replacing them with three short lines of text that could not be ignored.

[‘Natural disaster' is approaching.

[Our universe is facing an unprecedented crisis.

[Stay alert!

Such warnings are, in a sense, more chilling than simple declarations of war.

What the hell is a natural disaster?

What is an unprecedented crisis?

What do you need to be vigilant about?

Only the most critical part, not a word left.

Looking around the loud chamber, Dr. Ryan said in a positive tone.

“Gentlemen, this is what I call an 'oracle’. ”

“Although there are only three lines of information from which we can translate… I believe its content is enough to attract our attention. ”

“Now, do you still believe that rumors about the ‘Oracle' are just a rumor? ”

Nobody answered.

Even those members of parliament who had previously watched him “perform” with a frightening gaze, at this moment, were in a panicked state of mind and could not even look at him.

Looking directly at the scholar under the stage, the consul remained silent for a long time.

Finally, in a serious tone, he asked slowly.

“One last question, did you answer them? ”

“No,” Dr. Ryan shrugged his shoulder softly, "even if we wanted to, there was no way we could keep up with the slow signal. ”

The consul was relieved to hear that.

Almost the vast majority of people are relieved, not just consuls.

Imagine the distance of tens of thousands of light-years, even if they already have the secrets of hypervelocity communication, they can't get the message that far away in a short time.

Not to mention, that weird drop is moving faster towards the center of the entire galaxy.

The expression was obviously much easier, and the consul leaned back gently against the chair, looking at the scholars under the stage and continuing to speak.

“Whether it's true or false, you have no right to disclose it without permission. ”

Dr. Ryan nodded heavily, as he seemed to expect the consul to say.

“I know it's my problem, but it's also the choice I have to make. Because I know exactly how weak our civilization is under a strong shell. Someone has to come out and do something to keep things from going to the worst. ”

He raised his chin slightly, seemingly dissatisfied with the scholar's words, and the consul raised the volume and said.

“So what do you think we should do? Believe in an unknown broadcast? Believe in the goodwill of those ugly alien species? And destroy our centuries-old peace? Who's to say it's not a trap? Besides, if they face unprecedented problems, why not solve them themselves? And entrust hope to a civilization weaker than them? ”

“If they are truly benevolent, they should at least tell us what ‘natural disaster’ is! ”

Dr. Ryan shrugged his shoulders.

“This possibility is not excluded, but, with all due respect, it is unlikely. If it's simply persecution, I can imagine that they have at least a hundred more efficient ways to do that, like flying that strange drop straight to us. ”

Speaker: “Maybe they don't know we're here. ”

Dr. Ryan laughed haha.

“Cut the crap, a world so big and circled around the stars, even the blind know what's here. ”

“Enough!” The consul stared at the scholars standing under the stage and said word for word, "You have been arrested on charges of incitement, subversion of the State, your academic title will be withdrawn, and the prison of Yong-night Star will be your final destination. ”

Dr. Ryan: "When did the trial begin? ”

The consul said expressionlessly: "Before you came here. ”

The death penalty had long been abolished in the Coke Empire, and the maximum penalty was deportation to the outermost prison of the Empire, where he would spend the rest of his life.

In a sense, it is a more painful punishment than death. After all, for the vast majority of the Coke people, death is nothing but the embrace of the Spirit of Return to the Universe, but permanent exile means enduring at least a hundred years of suffering.

The shoulder was slightly relaxed and Ryan was silent for a while and said.

“This is the worst option, but it doesn't matter. ”

Turning slightly to the consul, he surrendered his hands to the guards who walked beside him.

“Put it on, my mission is over. ”

There was again a disturbing noise from the floor.

Pretending not to hear, the consul's eyes were full of haze, staring at the man who was suddenly handcuffed under the stage, not knowing what he was thinking.

Before being taken away, Dr. Ryan, standing underneath the stage, suddenly raised his head and swept aside, looking again at the consul sitting at the head of the conference.

“Before sending me to Everlasting Star, I have a request. ”

Consul: “Go ahead. ”

“With regard to the disposition of my property," continued Ryan, "I have no children or other surviving immediate family members, and I wish to dispose of my property before I am incarcerated. ”

Imperial law protects private property.

As long as the proceeds are not illegal, they will not be confiscated, even if they are heinous.

The consul exchanged sights with the Attorney General, who nodded and turned to Dr. Ryan.

“Your request is reasonable under the laws of the Empire, and you can identify the heirs before being sent to the Everlasting Star. ”

Lifting his already handcuffed hands, Dr. Ryan had little hesitation, pointing to an ark on the side of the hall.

“I wish to give him all my possessions. ”

“At least he sent me here safely. ”

At a glance at the blind little figure standing on the side of the hall, the consul lifted his fingers and dashed in the air.

Two holographic ID cards popped up, and as his index fingers moved, a stream of data quickly passed from one of the holographic panels to another.

“Reinhardt, is it? From now on, you inherited all of Dr. Ryan's property. ”

At the time of his departure, Dr. Ryan looked at the ark in surprise, as if he had not told himself his "real name”.

But he didn't say anything and followed the sentinel very obediently.
