Chapter 1371: Mysterious Missing Cracks?

Mid April.

A paper signed by a research institute from the Office of the Firing Program was published in the latest issue of Future.

Mysterious geological formation found on Mars!

Earthquake cracks mysteriously disappeared overnight!

Immediately after its publication, the paper attracted widespread attention from the international community.

Mars has always been understood as a dead desert planet with no complete ecosystem and no intense geological activity. Some are just raging red sand and rugged landscapes from billions of years of ancient geology eroded by sand and dust storms.

This discovery, however, undoubtedly subverts people's intrinsic impressions of the planet.

Not only is there suspected to be relatively new geological activity on Mars, but there may even be special geological phenomena not found on Earth!

At least on Earth, no one has ever heard of the earthquake cracks that have formed, that can be repaired overnight, as if nothing had happened.

At an international forum of renowned astronomers.

As early as the very first time the paper was published, it was translated into English and reproduced here, and soon sparked a massacre-scale discussion.

“WTF? Mars' geological structure is still active? Doesn't that mean it's possible to repair Mars magnetic fields and transform the Mars atmosphere? ”

“Yes, possibly, just possibly infinitely close to zero. Actually, I'm more curious how that crack actually disappeared, and the picture looks strange, but it doesn't look like P. ”

“Could it have been aliens? ”

“Ha ha, don't rule that out! Maybe the fracture is actually a passage to Mars civilization? ”

“Your brain hole is a little big...”

“I thought of a video where I'd seen it before, a Martian walking in front of the Curiosity with a painting... maybe what we've always known about Mars is what people who live there want us to see. ”

“I think it's a little more likely to be a P-chart than the unreliable Martian view. ”

Hot voices can see similar discussions not only on amateur forums, but also on Facebook and Twitter, although to a relatively lesser extent.

Combined with earlier reports in the media about the capture of extraterrestrial civilizations, many are wondering if the earthquake crack would actually be a trail left by aliens.

This speculation, though unreasonable, was surprisingly popular.

Given the widespread public interest in the matter, BBC reporters quickly found the NASA High Resolution Imaging Science Laboratory.

As another international "Mars authority" besides the China Manned Fire Office, their strength in theoretical research cannot be diminished, although their conditions are slightly inferior to those of the former, which has already sent scientists to Mars.

“We are now interviewing Professor Camilton, a graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Planetary Geology and currently working at the NASA High Resolution Imaging Science Laboratory…”

The young reporter politely continued, pointing the camera at Professor Camilton sitting in the chair.

“Hello Professor Kermiton, as an expert in planetary geology, what do you think this seismic structure would mean if it existed? ”

Faced with questions from BBC reporters, Professor Camilton said after a moment of silence.

“This is an interesting question. ”

“In fact, around April of '19, our Insight probe had observed a faint seismic signal on Mars, although that signal was so faint that we could not understand not only the internal structure of Mars, but even determine whether it was reliable. ”

“If that particular geological structure discovered by the China Manned Fire Office was really formed, as they say, in the last hundreds of thousands of years, it would undoubtedly be an unprecedented discovery, and it would even refresh our understanding of Mars. ”

A key message from Professor Kermiton was captured with acumen, and the young journalist immediately asked, “Do you mean that this discovery is important? ”

“There is no doubt about the importance. ”

Reporter: "But now there's another point of view… Could those pictures be forged? ”

“This possibility is not excluded, but it is very, very small. In fact, I had doubts about it, but I quickly dismissed it. After all... since they have all arrived on Mars, they should not be bored enough to joke about this issue,” With a half-joking tone, Professor Kermiton pushed his eyes down on the beam of his nose and paused for a moment to continue, “In fact, in my opinion, compared to the appearance of the earthquake structure, it is even more interesting why it suddenly disappeared. ”

“Whether or not it really is, as rumoured, caused by Martians living underground, or some particular bacteria with a repaired geological structure…”

“I think it would be much more important if the reasons for this were clarified than it would be to figure out how that earthquake crack was formed! ”

After the interview.

The post-clip video of the interview was released as a documentary by the BBC and soon uploaded to video websites such as youtube, sparking extensive discussion among web friends.

In fact, Professor Camilton's point of view is the mainstream view of academia.

That is, that earthquake crack should be real, formed by geological motion on Mars, and from the picture set, it shouldn't take very long to form.

What just doesn't make sense to everyone is why a crack so long disappears overnight.

With regard to the causes of this phenomenon, the views of academia were, as expected, divided into two factions.

One party's view is relatively conservative, arguing that thermal expansion and cooling, possibly caused by a huge diurnal temperature difference on Mars, results in fracturing of porous rock formations at fracture tectonic stage, resulting in a restorative inward contraction of the fractured surface.

Add the landfill effect of wind and sand to fill the subtle cracks in the surface of the fruit exposed to make that particular fracture structure appear to disappear overnight.

As for the view of the other faction, it is a biological cause that some iron phage bacteria living on the red iron ore have eroded the red iron ore veins at the bottom of the fracture structure.

Coupled with the sampling of water sources at the nearby Mars Science and Research Station in China, the collapse of the structure in the area was triggered, leading to the disappearance of the fracture structure.

However, there is no valid theoretical basis for either side's views, and no one can convince anyone between them.

In addition to these logically reluctant and self-explanatory speculations, there are some totally illogical speculations.

For example, about Martians.

A small group of people believe that this “mysterious” phenomenon can no longer be explained by pure geological movements, but can only be attributed to man-made factors.

And that's probably Martian work!

Scholars holding this view have even further promoted it.

For example, after losing the protection of the atmosphere, Martians moved from the surface to the ground, and that crack was not actually an earthquake, but rather an entrance and exit for Martians to the surface.

In short, there is a wide variety of opinions.

In the face of this incredible phenomenon, everything seems to have gotten lost.

And at this moment, something unexpected to everyone suddenly happened...
