The size of an effective economic zone is often determined by a combination of factors, such as technological strength, industrial size and area of distribution, and at present the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter is the boundary of this "effective economic zone”.

Extraction of resources from the world beyond the asteroid belt, processing on Mars and transporting processed manufactured goods back to Earth would make the supply chain beyond the limits of an effective economic zone seem unprofitable, so few companies would put the world beyond the asteroid belt into their own plans after cost estimates had been made.

Since the author of this study is a distinguished professor of economics at the Pan-Asian Academy of Sciences, it is still very influential in the field. Although Li Guangya was not born to study finance, he believed that the future of pan-Asian cooperation was in distant space, and there had always been interest in such research.

After reading that study, the idea of building a space elevator arose in his mind.

Trans-Asian cooperation, which is currently excessively prosperous, has begun to show signs of inner convolution, not only in terms of the people's well-being, but also as an impetus for progress in society as a whole.
