Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts

Chapter 261: The Frigid World

"No shouting in the train car. Or you’ll face the consequences."

A dark green Smoke Person floated over to issue the warning. Seeing that no one was speaking loudly anymore, it floated away again.

Faye Yardley was in a foul mood. Sitting beside her, Cole Kensington was staring at the back of the Piranha-folk’s head, already planning how to make his move in The Frigid World.

Meanwhile, the Tigerman had pulled Eamon into an earnest conversation about everything he’d heard from a friend about The Frigid World, getting more and more excited as he talked.

The little train departed soon after.

This time, it didn’t travel over the sea’s surface but took off directly, speeding through the air.

Faye Yardley glanced down at her watch. Without her realizing it, it was already 10:00 AM.

Twenty minutes later, the small train came to a smooth yet abrupt stop.

The moment they stepped off, a wave of cold washed over them, making them shiver uncontrollably.

An orange Smoke Person drifted by and said, "Everyone is welcome to purchase a warm clothing set from our shop. They’re guaranteed to be lightweight, warm, and very affordable."

Faye Yardley had her own set in her backpack, but Cole Kensington and Eamon didn’t. So, without Faye even having to ask, Eamon spoke up. "One set for each of the three of us. And warm shoes, too."

Some of the races unfazed by the cold had already scattered in all directions to explore The New World on their own.

The items here were indeed very cheap. A pair of warm shoes cost only 100 copper coins, and a full set of warm clothes was 200 copper.

Faye didn’t refuse Eamon’s kind gesture. She figured he must have plenty of money; he’d casually spent hundreds of Gold Coins before, let alone mere copper.

As for the others who couldn’t even afford 100 copper, Faye didn’t spare a thought for what might happen to them. She simply picked a direction and quickly departed.

"What the heck? Who’s that woman in the mask? Why does she have money?"

"ACHOO! Who cares who she is? Just because she looks human doesn’t mean she is one." The speaker hugged his arms and stomped his feet. ’I must have been out of my mind. Why was I so interested in The Frigid World when I’m dressed so lightly?’

When Cole Kensington saw that Faye Yardley had chosen the same direction as the Piranha-folk, a warm feeling spread through his heart.

Faye didn’t hide her intentions. "If you have a way to track him, go after him."

She had already asked the system in her mind. As long as no one saw, killing a person or two was nothing to make a fuss about.

As for how to determine if they were being watched, Faye had no idea. She just figured that as long as they stayed far away from the Smoke People, it should be fine.

The moment her feet touched this land, even with the thick layer of ice beneath, she could feel it clearly: this was Aquaria.

She had originally thought she would cry upon truly realizing this was her own world, but she didn’t.

It was as if her emotions had been gradually frozen by the bone-chilling cold.

The Legendary Island Order lying in her backpack showed no reaction, so Faye had no choice but to give up on that hope.

But since this was Aquaria, she wanted to dig up her own home and take it with her.

If possible, she also wanted to go to the cemetery, dig up her parents’ urns, and take them too.

Coincidentally, the direction the Piranha-folk had chosen was exactly where she needed to go.

Her luck was undeniably good. The small train had stopped on the sea’s surface, not far from the eastern coast of Veridia.

Although it was the sea’s surface, it wasn’t a vast, flat plain of ice. Instead, the terrain rose and fell, and there were even colossal waves frozen in place.

She knew without a doubt that if such a giant wave had struck, the city she used to live in would have been destroyed and submerged.

But since the wave was frozen here, the city behind it might still be perfectly preserved.

She hoped that the people who came here last time hadn’t dug her house out from the ice.

Faye Yardley tried to summon Bella, and to her surprise, Bella appeared with ease.

Amidst the astonished gazes of the others, Faye vaulted onto her horse and galloped toward the giant wave in the distance.

Cole Kensington grabbed Eamon and began to dart rapidly through the shadows. Eamon felt like he was about to suffocate. ’I don’t need this much excitement, really!’

Riding her horse, Faye’s speed was naturally extreme. She surpassed the others who had set out earlier, even overtaking the Piranha-folk. As she passed, Faye fired two Crossbow Arrows at him, both striking his fish-like head directly.

However, the fish head was surprisingly tough; the ordinary Crossbow Arrows only inflicted a tiny amount of damage.

Of course, for the Piranha-folk, the damage was minimal, but the insult was immense. His fishy eyes instantly turned red.

Just as he was about to give chase and kill that detestable woman, he was suddenly split clean in two from behind.

And so, his body was collected by Cole Kensington as a trophy.

This all happened in the span of four or five seconds. Many people only felt a blur before their eyes as a figure vanished without a trace.

And because of the extreme cold, not even a trace of blood was left behind.

Before killing the Piranha-folk, Cole had thrown Eamon forward like a ball. After the kill, Eamon was still tracing a parabola through the air.

"AHHHH!"

Eamon felt that if he fell from this height, even his lightweight warm clothes wouldn’t protect him from injury.

Waaah!

’If I had known, I wouldn’t have been so stubborn about following Faye. I could have just stuck with the kids’ group!’

The instant before he hit the ground, he was yanked up by the collar and thrown forward again. As Eamon was launched back into the air, his tears froze into beads of ice, rivaling the pearl-like tears of a Mermaid.

What kind of visual impact does an entire city frozen in ice have? As Faye Yardley stood atop the giant wave on Bella, gazing at the city before her, her nose tingled and her eyes grew hot, only for the feeling to be forced back by the biting wind.

Familiar yet foreign. Faye’s emotions at this moment were incredibly complex.

After a moment’s thought, she had her system take pictures, making a simple panoramic recording.

’At first, I thought I had simply transmigrated into a book, but...’

’It turns out I’m a Veridian from Aquaria.’

The land beneath her feet had raised her, but how helpless she was. It had become the possession of another, and the people like her who had lived on it were all passively turned into game players.

’Is this Aquaria’s way of finding a chance of survival for us insignificant humans?’

’Will I one day be able to take this place back from Nightfall Citadel?’

’I will!’

’I know I can!’

Gazing at the city before her, Faye Yardley’s eyes gradually filled with determination.

No matter what Aquaria ultimately became, it should never be just a playground.

"Bella, let’s go down."

Bella let out a neigh and leaped directly from the great height.

"Ahh! Lord Kingston, save me!"

Eamon’s voice was about to break. It was too high this time, way too high! He would definitely be crippled if he fell.

For a moment, Eamon was level with Bella. But then he began to plummet, while Bella was somehow able to tread on the air itself.

Just as Eamon thought he was done for, a grappling hook caught him by the back, and he was left dangling in the air like a kite.
