Chapter 259: Appointments and Various Tickets
I had just hung up with Master Veridian when Zephyr Sterling’s call came in.
"Mr. Zephyr Sterling, are you also after that Black Sea Water?"
Zephyr Sterling shook his head. "That’s not what I’m calling about. Aren’t you growing some red grass over there?"
"Yeah, I am. You need some?"
"I do. This red grass can be used to make High Level Talisman Paper. We just got a recipe for it, and the main ingredient is red grass. I remembered seeing it on your raft, so I thought I’d ask you."
Faye Yardley hummed in agreement. "Alright, I’ll send a batch over to you later."
"Also, give that old man a little less of that Black Sea Water. He’s been acting possessed ever since he got back from that island yesterday. He claims he’s had a great epiphany and has been holed up in his room researching ever since. The explosions from his room even woke me up in the middle of the night."
"Ah, but I just promised the Master another batch."
Zephyr Sterling sighed, then asked, "Did anything special happen when you were on the island this time?"
Faye Yardley thought for a moment and briefly described the changes in the village. "The Master didn’t participate in the trade directly. He went to look at that Array in the village that needs Energy Stones to activate. When he came back, he said he was greatly inspired."
"’Greatly inspired’ is an understatement. He’s about to tear my raft apart."
’For the ever-steady Zephyr Sterling to complain like this, it seems the Master has really been causing a lot of trouble since he got back yesterday.’
Not long after she hung up with Zephyr Sterling, Zachary Pierce’s call came in.
’Seriously? Did they all plan to call me today?’
"Yardley, about that Black Sea Water you gave us before. Our research has yielded two promising applications. One is as a stimulant that can temporarily boost a person’s Spirit, and the other is as a type of truth serum. I’ve sent you a Red Envelope, don’t forget to accept it."
Faye Yardley exclaimed, "Wow, that’s amazing! It can even be made into a truth serum? The event in Nightfall Citadel is in two days, I wonder if I’ll get a chance to use it."
Zachary Pierce fell silent for a moment before saying, "Be cautious. If you use it there, don’t let anyone find out."
"Don’t worry, I won’t use it carelessly. So, do you guys still want that Black Sea Water? I’ve been using it to cultivate seeds, and it’s been so successful that the Black Sea Water area is actually shrinking. It might be all gone at some point."
Zachary Pierce reacted immediately. "Those Brambles on your raft?"
"Yep."
"Please, you must save some more of that seawater for us."
Faye Yardley laughed. "Sure, sure. Just prepare your own wooden barrels to hold it."
’Just as I thought. My method is direct, simple, and crude. The Master and Mr. Pierce’s groups are too complicated, though their methods have their own merits, of course.’
Faye Yardley then said, "Bramble, give the rose some room to live, will you? You’re about to squeeze it to death."
The Bramble obediently crawled down a little from the nearby wooden fence.
She stood up and looked at the Black Sea Water area. It really had shrunk by a whole circle. The Bramble’s greed was truly beyond imagination.
Especially now that the Bramble knew two other parties were competing with it for this patch of sea, it stretched out two more thorny branches toward the water.
’It really wanted to just crawl in and occupy the entire area for itself.’
Unfortunately, this thought could not be conveyed to its master.
After staying in one place for so long, Faye Yardley felt that the treasure chests were respawning much more slowly.
’I’ve been fishing for two hours and only pulled up three chests. This is really not normal.’
She got up to stretch. Just then, Bella came out of the stable and approached her. Faye Yardley patted its head. "Bella, are you all recovered?"
Bella nodded.
Faye Yardley walked to the planting room, harvested a batch of red grass, sent it to Zephyr Sterling, then leaped onto her mount. She rode Bella away from the Black Sea Water to go look for treasure chests.
This time, Bella sped across the surface of the sea, heading in the exact opposite direction of the Black Sea Water.
"Bella, find a good spot. I’m going to put down the small wooden boat and start fishing for chests."
After two straight days of diligently fishing for and opening treasure chests, Faye Yardley was starting to suspect her Luck Value had dropped.
But she had checked her Attributes several times, and they were still normal. There was even still an upward-pointing arrow.
’Why am I getting the same old things over and over? Nothing new at all.’
She had even taken the return train tickets and traded them with her brother’s and Zachary Pierce’s teams for other types of attraction tickets.
She didn’t know what Nightfall Citadel was really like, but it definitely wasn’t the kind of amusement park Dungeon where one ticket gets you access to everything.
If you wanted to experience an attraction, you needed a ticket for that specific attraction.
Even the modes of transport each required their own different tickets.
In her hands right now, she had tickets for Nightfall Citadel’s internal mini-train, sightseeing car tickets, bicycle rental vouchers, animal ride tickets, and bus passes.
Tsk tsk, just these tickets alone were quite a collection.
She had also found some child-care vouchers, all of which she’d tossed to her brother.
’Who told them to have so many little babies, anyway?’
’Actually, it wouldn’t be a problem even if her brother’s group didn’t have the vouchers. After all, they still had money.’
’But could a single city really hold all the humans from the entire Aquaria?’
Although the total population had dropped significantly, the base number was still huge.
The thought was fleeting. Today was the 8th. Since waking up and washing, Faye Yardley had been on her small balcony practicing the Health Care Scripture.
She was trying to keep herself in the best possible condition.
It was only during breakfast that Faye Yardley noticed on the public channel that many people still hadn’t found a sea train ticket, which meant they couldn’t even go to Nightfall Citadel.
No one knew what would happen to these people if they were stranded on their rafts.
After all, there had never been an event with prerequisites for participation before.
She calmly finished her breakfast, then checked the items in her backpack again.
When she opened the door, Bella ran over. Faye Yardley patted its head, took out a vine leaf to feed it, and then stored Bella in the mount system.
Cole Kensington and Eamon walked over together.
"I told you about Nightfall Citadel two days ago. Have you decided if you’re coming with me?"
Eamon nodded excitedly. "Big Sis, I want to go! Please, you have to take me. I can be in charge of buying all the tickets."
"Hmph." Cole Kensington found the shorty incredibly annoying. ’So what if you’re rich? Damn it, he actually is the rich one, and I’m just a broke-ass pauper.’
She gave them each a train ticket and said, "Remember to keep your round-trip tickets safe. If you lose them, you won’t be able to come back."
"Thank you, Big Sis! I’ll definitely keep it safe." Eamon, of course, had his own storage item.
Cole Kensington also nodded solemnly. If he dared to lose track of her, he was certain Island Master Nash would twist off both his and his brother’s heads.
"Alright, go get ready. The sea train will arrive promptly at 8 o’clock."
