Chapter 226: The Hesitant Confession
The poor girl was in for the shock of her life.
She lived downstairs and made a little extra money delivering Namrata’s evening meals.
Since the food came from the same shop she worked with, she received five percent commission of every delivery. It had become part of her routine: bring the tiffin upstairs, collect her commission, and head back down.
Tonight was supposed to be no different.
Then she opened the door.
Her eyes immediately landed on the unfamiliar East Asian girl fumbling with her jeans.
For a moment, she simply stared.
So beautiful.
The girl’s snow-white, smooth legs looked almost unreal under the room’s light. The neighbor’s gaze dropped lower.
A flash of dark red fabric appeared above the waistband before disappearing beneath the long top.
Her eyes widened.
Wait... was that her underwear?
Then she noticed the boy.
He was halfway through pulling his T-shirt back on.
Her mind stalled.
Why are they taking their clothes off?
Then she saw Namrata.
Her friend was sitting in nothing but a bra and shorts, her head resting against the boy’s lap, her hair spilling across his legs. Three empty beer cans lay nearby.
And the boy was wearing nothing but his boxers.
The neighbor’s thoughts derailed completely. ’Oh my God.’
Her gaze dropped again.
The shape beneath his boxers was unmistakable, practically touching Namrata’s head.
Her face went scarlet. ’She’s actually doing it?.. and that too over the fabric. Is she drunk or what?’
Rohit raised one hand. "It’s not what it looks like."
The neighbor stared at him.
Then at Namrata.
Then back at him
’It absolutely looks like something.’ She hurried inside, keeping her eyes firmly away from the bed, and tried to place the tiffin on the nearest surface. "Sorry. I didn’t know. Please, do your thing. I’ll go."
Seo-yeon immediately tried to help. Her broken english causing more confusion than help.
"No.. No you misunderstand, we three were doing fun. Just some beer." She paused as it sounded worse.
Then, apparently deciding there was no way to recover, she added more in awkward English, " Want to join us?"
The neighbor’s hand went slack.
The tiffin slipped.
The container hit the floor, spilling its contents across the tiles.
Her face turned an even deeper shade of red. "Sorry about the food! No need to pay!"
She spun around and fled. The door slammed behind her.
Rohit and Seo-yeon stared at each other.
Silence.
Then both sighed.
That had gone far better than it could have.
Rohit glanced toward the door. "Quick. We need to fix this before someone else adds to the story."
Seo-yeon nodded.
Minutes later, Namrata was resting against the pillows while Rohit had dressed himself again. Seo-yeon stood before the mirror, back in her jeans and top, running a comb through her messy hair.
"I think she misunderstood everything," Seo-yeon said fluently in korean. "But somehow, she didn’t realize Namrata had passed out."
"And that saved us from a much bigger commotion." Rohit glanced toward the window, scanning the street below.
Seo-yeon looked at Namrata, her expression turning uneasy. "What do we do now?"
"We wait a little and try waking her up later." Rohit looked back at her. "Leaving right now doesn’t feel right."
Seo-yeon nodded, then noticed the food scattered across the floor. "And we ruined her dinner too. Should we order something?"
"Yeah." Rohit pulled out his phone and opened a delivery app. "We’ll wait here until it arrives. Then we’ll figure out how to leave without leaving her alone."
"I’ll pay." Seo-yeon reached for her phone, but Rohit waved her off.
"I’ve got a cashback coupon that’s about to expire."
She stared at him. "That’s your excuse?"
"It’s a perfectly legitimate financial strategy."
Seo-yeon rolled her eyes, but a small smile slipped through.
While they waited, she volunteered to clean up. Rohit was about to help when something outside caught his attention.
Several girls had gathered on the ground floor. The neighbor who had delivered the food was among them. Worse, a few of her roommates were already animatedly discussing something while looking toward the upper floors.
Rohit’s expression changed. "Seo-yeon."
"Hm?"
"Roof. Now."
"What? Why?"
He didn’t explain. He simply gestured toward the stairs. "Just trust me."
She followed, still confused.
By the time they reached the rooftop, voices were already drifting up through the stairwell. Rohit raised a finger to his lips.
"Quiet."
Seo-yeon finally understood.
They stayed near the stairwell and listened. The girls had come upstairs expecting to investigate what they’d seen earlier. From their whispers, it was obvious they were less interested in the truth than in the gossip they’d already built around it.
Then Namrata’s door opened.
Silence.
Namrata was still lying asleep on the bed. The room was a mess, but there was nothing scandalous happening.
For several seconds, nobody knew what to say. Then came the inevitable blame game.
"You were the one who said there was a boy and girl alongside. But now its empty and she is sleeping. Complete waste of time and—"
"Dont point fingers . It wasnt me. It was her who proposed—"
"Don’t blame me! I simply said what was on others mind—"
Seo-yeon covered her mouth, fighting back laughter.
Eventually the girls left, embarrassed and irritated with one another. Only after their footsteps disappeared did Seo-yeon release the breath she’d been holding.
"Thank God we left early. That could’ve been a disaster." She glanced toward the stairwell. "Those girls are trouble."
Rohit smiled but said nothing.
Then Seo-yeon’s expression changed. "Wait. How are we getting out now? What if they come back and check the rooftop?"
Rohit checked his phone. "8:20."
"And?"
"Relax. We’re safer up here than in that room with Namrata sleeping." He glanced toward the stairwell. "This is the top floor. There’s no reason for anyone to come up here unless they specifically want to."
"And when the delivery gets here?"
"We wake up namrata. Go down together. I’ll handle the rest."
Seo-yeon stared at him. Under the dim rooftop light, Rohit looked annoyingly calm. "You’re... really reliable."
Rohit looked at her. "What?"
"Nothing." But she didn’t look away. Instead, she stepped closer. "You make me feel comfortable when I’m around you."
Rohit’s expression changed slightly.
Seo-yeon swallowed. "Do you think I’m your type?"
The question hung between them.
For once, Seo-yeon didn’t laugh afterward or try to turn it into a joke. Neither did Rohit.
The wind swept across the rooftop.
Then Seo-yeon’s courage seemed to disappear all at once. She turned away and walked toward the railing.
Rohit watched her for a moment. A faint, knowing smile appeared on his face. He could have pulled her back. Instead, he let her go... and then slowly followed.
He stopped a short distance behind her. "What if the answer is yes?"
Seo-yeon’s shoulders stiffened but she didnt turned. She kept her eyes on the city below. "When I was younger, there were people who crossed boundaries with me."
Rohit’s smile disappeared.
"At first, I didn’t understand what was wrong. Then it happened again. And again."
She folded her arms around herself. "Different people. Different situations. Always some excuse to get too close."
Her voice became quieter. "Eventually, I started feeling uncomfortable around men in general. Their eyes would linger. They’d find excuses to get close, and I’d never know whether I was imagining it or whether I was supposed to tolerate it."
She paused. "That’s part of why my family eventually moved so far away."
Rohit remained silent.
Seo-yeon finally turned around. "And then I met you."
Her expression was difficult to read. "One incident, and I couldn’t stop thinking about you."
Rohit frowned slightly. ’Is she talking about the ladies washroom? Why now?’
Seo-yeon continued. "After what happened behind those closed doors, you could have pushed things further. You had the chance."
Her fingers tightened around her arms. "But you stopped."
She looked directly at him.
"But you didn’t tease me about it afterward. You didn’t use it against me. You didn’t keep bringing it up and acted as if it never happened." A faint smile appeared . "You just treated me normally. And keep helping me again and again."
Rohit’s expression softened. ’Yep... definitely that incident. What is she getting at?’
Seo-yeon looked down. "Do you know how strange that felt? Being around a man and not constantly wondering what he wanted from me."
The wind moved through her hair. "Even today... you weren’t exactly obsessed with me."
Rohit’s mouth twitched.
Seo-yeon immediately pointed at him. "Don’t."
"I didn’t say anything."
"You were about to."
"Maybe." Smug smile appeared across his face.
She lowered her hand. Then her confidence faltered again. "I... really liked what you said earlier. About being honest.. about your needs. And I liked that you didn’t pretend you were someone you’re not."
She took a breath. "I just..."
The words refused to come. She looked down at the rooftop floor. Then finally forced herself to ask. "Do you think I’m pretty?"
Rohit’s expression softened completely. ’Ah... the needy thing. Now I get it.’
Seo-yeon’s face immediately turned crimson. She had asked. Now she had to endure the answer. But this time, she refused to move away.
Rohit stepped closer. He gently lifted her chin until their eyes met.
"Very much."
Seo-yeon’s breath caught.
"Like a princess."
Her eyes widened slightly.
Rohit smiled. "Though a troublesome one."
"Rohit—"
He cut her off softly. "Still a princess."
The teasing disappeared from his voice. "Someone who deserves to be loved and cared for."
Seo-yeon’s expression froze. For once, she had no clever answer.
Rohit leaned closer. He stopped just before their lips met, giving her every chance to pull away.
She didn’t.
Their lips met softly at first — careful, almost hesitant.
Then Seo-yeon’s hands rose and gripped the front of his t-shirt.
The kiss lingered.
Then, little by little, her hesitation gave way. The kiss deepened, carrying the warmth neither of them had dared to acknowledge aloud.
When they finally pulled apart, Seo-yeon remained close for a moment, her eyes still half-closed. Then reality caught up with her.
She stepped back, panic flickering across her face. "I... I... sorry. That was a mistake."
She turned, ready to leave, but felt his hand close gently around hers — not tight, just enough to keep her from running.
Her heart raced wildly.
"Please, Rohit," she whispered. "Something wrong will happen."
Rohit looked at her. ’So cute. Now you want to run? Not on my watch.’
Then he loosened his fingers. "If you want to go, go."
Seo-yeon froze.
He let her hand fall free.
She could leave... but she didn’t.
That tiny hesitation told him more than her words had. ’Figures. Her body and mind are acting separately.’
Rohit stepped closer again, slower this time. He moved behind her and wrapped both arms around her waist.
She stayed.
’Yeah... more like it.’ Emboldened, he leaned forward.
His lips brushed her smooth cheek.
Seo-yeon shivered.
Another soft kiss followed, closer to her ear. She closed her eyes, her fingers tightening slightly against his shirt.
He rubbed his cheek slowly against hers, the faint stubble catching lightly against her skin, while his hand rose and cupped her breast over the fabric of her clothes. He kneaded gently, feeling the soft weight of her, and noted with quiet satisfaction the way her breath hitched against his mouth.
’Nice.’
In his mind, he only wanted to guide her — to let her cross the line if she was willing. The response came sooner than expected, though still tinged with hesitation.
Seo-yeon gasped. "This is so wrong..."
Rohit kept his cheek against hers, voice low and close to her ear as he continued the slow, careful pressure of his hand. He could feel the soft, plump curve of her ass brushing against his cock, and he didn’t hesitate to press closer, making his intention clear without forcing it.
"Ssh... what did I say? Right and wrong are just things people decide to believe. Once you understand what you actually desire... the rest is only noise."
Her knees weakened. A warm, tingling heat spread between her legs.
She tried to pull away, but his breath on her skin felt like a quiet spell. After a moment her fingers rose and touched his cheek, and the last of her resistance loosened.
"Oh, Rohit... why didn’t you meet me earlier?"
He smiled against her skin.
Feeling her body soften against him, he slowly slid his other hand downward, intending to explore further. Her fingers caught his wrist halfway, stopping him.
He felt the reluctance immediately and didn’t push. ’She still needs a little more time.’
Instead, he gently turned her so they faced each other again. He lifted her chin and kissed her once — soft and brief — then rested his forehead against hers.
Seo-yeon looked up at him, eyes conflicted, and confessed in a small, shaky voice.
"But Rohit... I’m engaged. I can’t commit..."
He hushed her gently, placing a finger against her soft lips.
"Ssh. You don’t have to decide the future right now." He brushed his thumb lightly across her lower lip, savoring the softness. "You already took a big step by telling me what’s in your heart."
She didn’t move.
’Yes... she believes in me.’
His smile softened. "Let’s just be honest about today. Whatever comes after that... we’ll deal with it when it comes."
She searched his face. "You won’t hate me later? Or call me a cheat?"
Rohit frowned slightly. ’What is she so worried about?’
He shook his head, his smile soft and sure. "No. We’ll still be two people who understand each other’s desires — and the boundaries that come with them."
She blinked, needing the reassurance one last time. "Promise?"
He nodded. "I promise."
Her reluctance dissolved. Her gaze dropped for a second, then lifted again.
Rohit leaned in.
This time the kiss was deep, unhurried, and completely mutual. Seo-yeon melted into it almost immediately, her earlier hesitation dissolving under the slow, deliberate pressure of his mouth.
Her hands slid up his chest and settled on his shoulders, fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt as if she needed something solid to hold onto.
Their lips locked together, warm and searching. Rohit didn’t rush.
He pressed gently against her lower lip first, tasting the soft give of it, then shifted to claim the upper one, drawing it slowly between his own.
The quiet, wet sound of their mouths meeting filled the small space between them. Every small movement felt amplified under the dim rooftop light.
Seo-yeon’s breath trembled against his.
She kissed him back with growing confidence, matching his pace, her body leaning further into his. The cool night air brushed against her bare legs, but the heat between them made it irrelevant.
Rohit’s rough, warm hands began to explore.
They slid down the curve of her back, tracing the line of her spine through the thin fabric of her oversized t-shirt.
His palms moved slowly, deliberately, mapping the narrow waist and the soft flare of her hips before settling there.
He pulled her closer.
She felt it immediately — the unmistakable heat of his cock pressing against her lower abdomen, hard and insistent even through the layers of denim and cotton.
The firm ridge brushed against her with every small shift of their bodies. A quiet sound escaped her throat, half surprise, half something else.
Rohit’s hands moved lower.
He grabbed her ass over the jeans, squeezing once, firmly enough to make her breath hitch against his mouth.
The pressure was possessive but controlled. Then his fingers dipped beneath the waistband, finding the bare, smooth skin underneath.
No barrier. Just warm, soft flesh.
He gave another slow, deliberate squeeze, palms full of her, thumbs brushing along the upper curve.
Seo-yeon’s face turned red almost instantly.
Heat flooded her cheeks and spread down her neck. She pressed lightly against his chest, her voice small and unsteady.
"Wait... it’s too soon."
Rohit didn’t pull away completely. He only broke the kiss enough to speak, his lips still brushing hers as he kept fondling and squeezing her ass. A low, warm chuckle rumbled in his chest.
"Then shall we limit it to the upper-half?"
