Chapter 295 - 282: He Just Looks Fierce, but He’s Actually a Good Person
"Miss Underwood is filming right now. Please wait here and rest for a bit."
"Thank you!"
Tiana Underwood was currently shooting a period drama, so the set they were on was a lavish palace.
Dressed in a splash of red, Tiana Underwood was dancing alone in the center of the hall.
Vivian Sawyer looked around curiously. "Wow, so this is what a film set is like! I’ve never seen one before! Miss Thorne, do you come here often?"
"This is my first time, too!" Georgia Thorne blinked, looking ahead.
Tiana Underwood was spinning nonstop. On the other side of a yellow satin curtain was a man, his figure blurry and indistinct. ’He must be the male lead,’ she thought.
On one side was the quaint elegance of ancient times, and on the other were modern cameras, creating a stark contrast.
The man behind the satin curtain walked out. Tiana Underwood spun, let out a soft cry, and fell into his arms. Just then, Georgia heard Vivian Sawyer shriek, "Wow, Miss Thorne, I can’t believe I’m seeing Brandon Sawyer!"
"Keep your voice down, or they’ll kick you out," Georgia Thorne warned her in a low voice.
Vivian Sawyer nodded repeatedly, covering her mouth with her hand, though it still couldn’t hide her excitement.
’Who’s Brandon Sawyer?’
Georgia Thorne glanced over curiously. It was an unfamiliar male face, but he was quite handsome.
The director was very satisfied with the scene of Tiana Underwood falling into Brandon Sawyer’s arms. He called "Cut!" and announced a break.
Tiana Underwood politely stepped out of Brandon Sawyer’s arms and walked toward her resting area.
"They’re the designers from Archetype Company," an assistant reminded her in a low voice.
"Hello, Miss Underwood. My name is Georgia Thorne, and this is my assistant, Vivian Sawyer." Georgia Thorne extended her hand in greeting.
"Hello, I’m Tiana Underwood," she said with a smile.
Tiana Underwood was a classical beauty. The red dance costume she wore was stunning, accentuating both her fine figure and her gentle charm.
Time was tight, as Tiana Underwood had to continue filming soon. Georgia Thorne took her measurements and listened to her ideas for the dress design.
But there was one thing Georgia Thorne didn’t quite understand. "Miss Underwood, are you leaning toward a luxurious style, or a more natural beauty? There’s a significant conflict between the two, and they create completely different feelings. So, I’d like to ask which style you prefer?"
Tiana Underwood took a sip of water. "Miss Thorne, next month’s Valois Fashion Week will be my first time attending. What I want is to instantly capture everyone’s cameras, you know?"
Georgia Thorne frowned, a little surprised by Tiana Underwood’s bluntness. "I’ll do my best."
Georgia Thorne put away her pen and paper. "After I finish the initial sketches, I’ll show them to you first. If there’s anything you’re not satisfied with, we can make changes."
"Okay, I’ll leave everything in your hands, Miss Thorne!"
The entire process took less than ten minutes before someone from the director’s team came to call Tiana Underwood back to filming. Tiana put down her water and heard Georgia Thorne ask, "Miss Underwood, would it be alright if I stayed and watched for a little longer?"
"I won’t cause any trouble," Georgia Thorne added, noticing her confused expression. "I’d like to understand you a bit more. Watching you act might give me more inspiration."
"Sure."
Tiana Underwood’s expression relaxed. She glanced at her assistant. "Take them over there."
Tiana Underwood went on to film the next scene, once again falling back into Brandon Sawyer’s arms and reciting lines with the man in period costume.
After listening for a long while, Georgia Thorne finally made out what Brandon Sawyer was saying. "Is he Sillan?"
Vivian Sawyer, seeing Tiana Underwood and Brandon Sawyer’s affectionate scene, was green with envy. "Brandon Sawyer is so amazing!"
’He really is amazing,’ Georgia thought. ’To be able to deliver their lines so fluently despite the language barrier... I’m impressed.’
The period drama Tiana Underwood was starring in was about a male and female lead who were enemies. The female lead was a princess of a fallen dynasty, while the male lead was the Great General who had conquered her city and now reigned as the Emperor.
This scene was about the princess preparing to enter the palace to assassinate the Emperor. Tiana Underwood leaped out of Brandon Sawyer’s arms, spun in the center of the stage, and flourished her dance silks, which Brandon Sawyer caught with a smile.
As she drew closer, a flicker of killing intent flashed in her seductive, watery eyes. She pulled a dagger from her sleeve and thrust it at Brandon Sawyer.
At the crucial moment, the director yelled, "Cut!" He was very pleased with their performance.
"That’s a wrap for today. We’ll continue tomorrow."
’No wonder Tiana Underwood won a Best Supporting Actress award for a single movie. Her acting is truly excellent.’
Tiana Underwood put on the warm coat her assistant brought and saw that Georgia Thorne and her assistant hadn’t left yet.
"Miss Thorne, have you found any inspiration?"
"Your performance was brilliant!" Georgia Thorne praised sincerely. Tiana Underwood replied with a customary "thank you."
"By the way, Miss Underwood, is there anything you’re particularly fond of? Flowers, or anything else?"
"As for flowers, I like baby’s breath and things like that."
"Okay, I understand!"
Tiana Underwood’s request was very practical. Her sole purpose for the Valois Fashion Week was to capture everyone’s attention and put herself in the public eye.
’But based on her personality, a luxurious style doesn’t really suit her. A natural style would be a much better fit.’
’The whole point of clothing is to make the person wearing it even more beautiful.’
Watching Tiana Underwood’s performance had indeed sparked some inspiration.
She spent a day sketching out the line art and some color concepts, and only after Tiana Underwood approved them did Georgia Thorne continue her work.
Ever since Elliot Sheridan had taken Georgia Thorne to visit the Sheridan family home, Sharon Ennis had been talking about Georgia nonstop, wanting the two of them to come home for a visit.
Sharon Ennis called Georgia Thorne directly, asking her and Elliot to come home that evening.
The last few times, Georgia Thorne had just handed the phone to Elliot and let him handle it.
But right now, she was at work, so she couldn’t run to Elliot for help.
Having no other choice, she had to agree.
Afterward, Georgia Thorne called Elliot to complain a little. Elliot, however, was in a rather good mood. "I’ll pick you up from your office after work."
"Okay!"
Georgia Thorne was a low-key person. Even after announcing her relationship with Elliot, she had never let him come to her company.
This was a first.
At quitting time, Georgia Thorne had just saved her line art and copied it to her USB drive. Before she could even finish packing, Elliot’s call came, asking if she was on her way down.
"Just a minute, I’ll be right down!" Georgia Thorne said hastily before rushing off.
Elliot Sheridan was usually a low-key person, but today he had deliberately driven a flashy Porsche.
He did it to attract attention, to make sure everyone at Georgia Thorne’s company knew that she was already married.
If he remembered correctly, one of Georgia’s colleagues seemed to have a crush on her.
Elliot Sheridan stood outside the car, dressed in a sharp blue suit with a bright purple tie that was exceptionally eye-catching. Georgia had specifically picked out this outfit for him that morning.
It was the peak of rush hour, and the female employees coming out of Archetype Company were all staring at Elliot, completely smitten.
A man that handsome was usually only seen on TV.
They might be infatuated, but no one had the courage to approach Elliot. They could only admire him from a distance.
Elliot glanced at his watch and waited patiently for a few more minutes before he saw Georgia Thorne jogging out of the company building.
"Why weren’t you waiting in the car? It’s cold out here," Georgia Thorne said with concern.
The weather had suddenly turned colder in the past two days, with temperatures dropping to freezing.
Elliot replied, "It’s not so bad," and took Georgia’s hand. "Why are your hands so cold?"
Georgia Thorne scratched her hair. "Just drive!"
「The Sheridan Residence」
Sharon Ennis couldn’t wait to see her daughter-in-law. She had already called Georgia Thorne twice on her way over.
When they reached the gate, she called again, only hanging up after she heard the car’s engine shut off in the courtyard.
"You’re back! Come in, quick, it’s warm inside!" Sharon Ennis said enthusiastically.
Georgia Thorne sweetly called out, "Mom," which delighted Sharon Ennis. She took her hand and pulled her into the house.
"The weather’s gotten colder these past few days. You need to wear more clothes. Don’t be like those other girls who go out wearing just two layers, you hear?" Sharon Ennis pressed a cup of hot water into her hands. "Look how cold your hands are. Quick, warm them up."
Ever since getting a daughter-in-law, Sharon Ennis had completely forgotten about her own son.
In her eyes, her son wasn’t as obedient as her daughter-in-law, and her daughter-in-law had a wonderful temperament, which she loved.
In the past, Selena had always sung Georgia Thorne’s praises, which made Sharon Ennis’s impression of her better and better.
Besides, her own son had been the one to mess up in the first place; otherwise, she might have been able to see her little grandson by now.
In short, Sharon Ennis was exceptionally good to her daughter-in-law—so good that Georgia Thorne found it a little overwhelming.
Since learning she had Georgia Thorne as a daughter-in-law, Sharon Ennis hadn’t been idle. First, she had Elliot’s room redecorated into a newlywed suite, and even added some of Georgia’s clothes to it.
So much so that when Georgia Thorne entered the room, she momentarily thought she and Elliot were newlyweds. The entire room was an exaggerated and eye-catching shade of red.
"Your mother is so extra!" Georgia Thorne said, dumbfounded.
"She just likes doing this sort of thing. Just let her be," Elliot sighed. He more or less understood his mother.
He remembered when Carter Sheridan and Hillary got married; their room had been just as vibrantly red.
When Georgia Thorne left work, she brought her graphics tablet home with her.
To meet her deadline, she rushed back to their room after dinner to color the line art.
She was completely absorbed, hunched over the desk drawing. On the other side of the room, Elliot suddenly felt a little lonely. His gaze was fixed on Georgia, watching her bowed head and intense focus.
’She’s been working like this for nearly three hours. Doesn’t she get tired?’
Elliot sat on the bed, distractedly watching TV, his eyes frequently darting over to Georgia.
Another half hour passed before he finally couldn’t take it anymore and got out of bed.
He walked over, sat down beside Georgia, and leaned in, his upper body almost completely covering hers. The body heat between them grew, but a certain someone didn’t seem to notice at all.
