"How much did she drink?"

Georgia Thorne glanced at the beer on the table. "About half of that."

Dylan Heston’s brow furrowed. He looked down coldly at the person in his arms, then said to Georgia Thorne, "Alright, I’m heading out."

"Okay, take care!"

For some reason, she felt like she was pushing Nancy Hughes into a lion’s den.

Not long after Dylan Heston left, Elliot Sheridan arrived and saw Selena Sheridan sprawled on the sofa.

"Honey, what do we do now?" Georgia Thorne looked at him, troubled.

"What else can we do?" Elliot Sheridan shot her a glare, then walked over and picked Selena Sheridan up.

Elliot Sheridan’s movements were rough, and Selena Sheridan groggily woke up. She opened her eyes and asked Elliot, "Where’s my drink?"

"Take a good look at who I am!" Elliot Sheridan said fiercely.

Even as a drunk, Selena Sheridan was fundamentally afraid of Elliot Sheridan.

A shiver ran through her. Recognizing Elliot, she called out timidly, "Second Uncle, what are you doing here?"

"It’s a good thing you still recognize me!"

Selena Sheridan, "..."

Elliot Sheridan placed Selena Sheridan in the back seat. Georgia Thorne was about to get in with her but was pushed into the passenger seat by Elliot.

"She could fall if she’s back there sleeping by herself!" Georgia Thorne said worriedly, looking back.

"Then let this be a lesson to her, so she won’t dare drink this much next time!"

When they dropped Selena Sheridan off at the Sheridan residence, Sharon Ennis and her husband were still awake.

"Selena, what happened to her?"

"She drank too much!" Elliot Sheridan carried her upstairs, with Sharon Ennis following behind.

"Why did she drink so much? Look how red her little face is!"

"I’m heading back now!"

"You’re leaving already?" Seeing that Elliot Sheridan was about to leave, Sharon Ennis hurriedly stood up. "You’re already back, why don’t you just sleep here tonight?"

"No, I’m going back!"

Elliot Sheridan strode downstairs. Georgia Thorne was still in the car, waiting for him so they could go back together.

The atmosphere in the car was heavy on the way back.

Elliot Sheridan’s face was cold. He was angry.

Georgia Thorne kept her head down without a word, wringing her hands.

When they got home, Georgia Thorne switched into her cotton slippers and hurried into the bathroom. "I’m going to take a shower first."

She took a quick, hot shower and came out in her pajamas.

She was startled by the man leaning against the doorframe, smoking. She clutched her chest. "I’m done showering. You can go now!"

Elliot Sheridan’s dark eyes looked at her sharply, locking her in his gaze.

’I’m in no rush. I’ll deal with her properly after my shower!’

Curled up under the covers, Georgia Thorne only poked her head out after hearing the door close.

She let out a long sigh of relief.

When Elliot Sheridan came out of the shower, he found the bedroom lights were already off.

’She’s asleep?’

Elliot Sheridan snorted. ’Even if she is asleep, I’ll just have to wake her up.’

He had only taken two steps forward when a cool body threw itself at him.

She was a little scared. Ever since he’d returned her kiss moments ago, his lips had been pressed into a thin line.

Georgia Thorne’s voice grew lighter and softer, seeping into Elliot Sheridan’s very bones.

After being thoroughly worn out this time, Georgia Thorne was completely exhausted and fell asleep.

She slept soundly until the next morning.

’This was all Nancy Hughes’s fault. Why did she have to give her that wedding gift for no reason?’

Elliot Sheridan only left for work after he was done teasing Georgia Thorne.

The part-time housekeeper had already made breakfast. "Sir, breakfast is ready."

"Mm," Elliot Sheridan said, adjusting his tie. "Don’t forget to wake up the madam for breakfast later."

"Yes, sir!" the housekeeper replied.

At first, she couldn’t figure out who "the madam" was, but then she realized the only woman who could come and go freely from this house was Miss Thorne.

’It seems Miss Thorne and the master are finally past the hard times.’

「The sun was high in the sky.」

「The Sheridan Residence.」

Selena Sheridan woke up with a headache. She sat up and, after a moment of stunned confusion, realized she was in her own room.

She had no memory of how she got back last night or who brought her.

A total blackout.

’Did Georgia Thorne bring me home?’

Selena Sheridan ran a hand through her messy hair and felt her forehead. It seemed like there was a bump.

She scrambled out of bed and looked in the vanity mirror. She looked as haggard as a ghost, and there was a small lump swelling on her forehead.

’Did I get into a fight last night?’

She shook her head hard. She couldn’t remember. She couldn’t remember a thing.

She dug her phone out of her bag. Just as she was about to call Georgia Thorne, a call came in.

It was from her father.

Selena Sheridan was still furious. She believed the reason for their divorce was Carter Sheridan’s affair. If a third party hadn’t interfered, her family wouldn’t have been destroyed.

She didn’t want to answer, but the phone rang again and again.

Lowering her eyes, she glanced at the screen, picked up the phone, and answered.

She drew out the word unhappily, "Hello?"

"Selena, it’s me, Dad!" Carter Sheridan’s voice came through. Selena Sheridan responded flatly, "Oh. Is there something you need?"

Selena Sheridan was usually very warm with her parents and always had endless things to talk about with her father.

Even when the two of them argued, they would make up shortly after.

Selena Sheridan’s attitude toward her father was so cold that Carter Sheridan was at a loss for words.

"Selena, girls should drink less. Your grandma said..."

"You don’t need to worry about me. I know what I’m doing." Hearing his words of concern, Selena Sheridan felt a sourness in her heart.

"Selena, Dad was just..."

She cut him off coldly. "If you have this much free time to worry about me, why don’t you go worry about that woman of yours!"

After speaking, she hung up and turned off her phone.

She really couldn’t stop herself from blaming her father. He was the one who had been bewitched by another woman and single-handedly destroyed their family.

In the face of his concern, she couldn’t help but become hostile, unable to calm her emotions.

Her mood was ruined first thing in the morning. She lay back down in bed, wanting only to empty her mind and do nothing at all.

Selena Sheridan refused to eat. Sharon Ennis stood worriedly at the door, knocking, but there wasn’t a single sound from inside.

Her granddaughter might seem easygoing and agreeable on the surface, but deep down, she was a stubborn person.

With no response from the room, Sharon Ennis sighed and had someone take the food away.

Selena Sheridan sulked in her room all day, only coming downstairs in the evening.

Having been hungry all day, she felt dizzy and faint as she walked.

The atmosphere downstairs was a bit awkward. Selena Sheridan called out, "Grandma!"

Coming downstairs, she saw the people sitting in the living room. Her gaze swept over them and landed on one person in particular, her eyes widening.

How could Selena Sheridan not recognize the members of the Sheridan Family?

But who was that woman sitting next to her father!

Sharon Ennis hadn’t expected her granddaughter to come down at this time. She stood up in a fluster and said with a strained laugh, "Selena, you must be hungry. I’ll have someone prepare some food for you!"

Selena Sheridan ignored Sharon Ennis, her gaze fixed directly on Carter Sheridan, her eyes growing redder.

"You and Mom have only been divorced for a few days, and you’re already bringing this homewrecker to our house!"

The anger she had just managed to suppress instantly flared up again.

"Selena, let me explain, this is..." Carter Sheridan strode over, grabbing his daughter’s hand, trying to explain.

Selena Sheridan forcefully shook him off. "What is there to explain? I’m so disappointed in you!"

Selena Sheridan said through clenched teeth, furious. Not wanting to hear what Carter Sheridan had to say, she turned and bolted outside.

"Hey, Selena, where are you going!" Sharon Ennis hurriedly chased after her granddaughter, but she was a step too late. Selena Sheridan had already run out.

She was the only young lady in the Sheridan family, treasured since birth.

Everyone panicked. James Sheridan immediately ordered the staff to go out and bring the young miss back.

In an instant, only Naomi Shaw and Carter Sheridan were left in the living room.

"Your daughter doesn’t welcome me!"

Selena Sheridan ran very fast. When the Sheridan family staff went out to search, they couldn’t find her.

She ran and ran, crying the whole way.

She hadn’t eaten all day and was dizzy.

She stumbled forward. As she passed an intersection, two bright lights suddenly flared up on the dark road.

Selena Sheridan turned her head and stared dumbfounded at the oncoming car. Her brain screamed at her to run, but her body wouldn’t move.

Frozen in place, she watched the car speeding toward her. Suddenly, all her strength left her. Her vision went black, and she fainted.

The car didn’t hit Selena Sheridan. It screeched to a halt just a dozen inches away from her, leaving long skid marks on the asphalt.

The person inside got out, turned Selena Sheridan’s body over, and, with a frown, picked her up in their arms and carried her to the car.

No one knew where Selena Sheridan had run off to, and everyone was frantic with worry.

Naomi Shaw looked at Carter Sheridan’s panicked expression and suppressed what she wanted to say, deciding to wait for a better time.

"You should stay here and look for Selena. I’ll head back first," Naomi Shaw said, standing up.

On one hand, Carter Sheridan was worried about his daughter’s safety; on the other, he didn’t feel right letting Naomi Shaw go back by herself.

"I should take you home first," Carter Sheridan said, taking her hand.

"No, it’s fine. I can get back by myself." Naomi Shaw pulled her hand from his grasp. "She already dislikes me a lot. If she finds out you didn’t prioritize her at a time like this, she’ll definitely hate me even more!"

Carter Sheridan was caught in a difficult position.

Naomi Shaw was right. Selena already disliked her, and if he were to side with Naomi now, it would only increase Selena’s resentment toward her.

His hope was that after he married Naomi Shaw, their family could still get along as they always had.

Naomi Shaw was a kind-hearted person, no worse than Hillary.

"Alright then. Be careful on your way back."

"I know!" Naomi Shaw gave him a reassuring look. "Text me when you find Selena."

"Mm."

Carter Sheridan had the driver take Naomi Shaw home while he went out to search for Selena Sheridan himself.

There were no buses in this area. To get out, one would have to walk a long way to catch a cab.

’Selena couldn’t have run that fast. She must still be somewhere around here.’

However, after searching for four or five hours and covering the entire area around the Sheridan residence, they still hadn’t found her.

No one knew where she had gone.

The places Selena Sheridan might have gone were her great-grandmother’s, or Elliot Sheridan’s.
