Seirei Gensouki ~Konna Sekai de Deaeta Kimi ni~

Episode 42: On Harvest Festival Day

A few days have passed since Rio and the others returned to the village from King's Capital.

At present, harvest festivals are held in the village after late autumn.

A harvest festival is a festival that appreciates the abundance of the year and prays for the abundance of the following year.

It's usually the life of busy villagers, but all this day I don't have a job.

In the village square, villagers were gathered drinking, eating meals, singing songs and dancing from day to day.

Since the kitchen of Yuba's house is the largest of the villages, every year, during this event, women proud of their cuisine gather from all over the village to wave their arms.

There are still a few village women who are moving around and doing their best.

Some of them look like Rio.

The kitchen is a battlefield for women, and there is no such thing as a man's area of entry, but Rio's culinary arm was sometimes inked by Yuba and Luli, who were exceptionally allowed to enter.

Rio was cooking dishes that he never ate in this region.

Right on the side are Luli and Sayo, who are learning how to cook that from Rio.

The dish is apple pie and meat pie.

I've already made pie fabrics, so I'm just creating fillings now.

For apple pie, the winter apples picked in the village are used, and for meat pie, the village cattle are used.

For the sake of making it easier for the villagers to make in the future, I don't dare use sugar, which is a luxury product, and butter, which is not known to be made in this region.

With a slight mix of spices to pick in the region, Rio simmered the winter apples until they were stuck.

"It smells so good. Rio has a lot of cooking drawers."

"Yes, it looks very tasty. Master Rio, it's amazing!

Luli and Sayo flashed their faces down, letting their noses cling to the slightly sweet scent drifting around them.

Embarrassed by their praise like that, he grins like a tease, and Rio cooks.

Place the filling on top of the pie dough you were putting to sleep, plus lay the pie dough on top of it.

After that, use the cauldron to cook it and it's done.

I don't have time to get distracted because I have to make meat pies, and I have to make a good amount of people.

Then, after about two hours of cooking, those who were cooking, including Rio, joined the festival.

The square was able to create an air of festivities that would bring exhilaration.

Rio sat down at the edge of the square and enjoyed a conversation with Dra and Ume single-handedly about brewed liquor, the village's specialty.

I don't make a scene myself, but I enjoy eating and drinking while watching the young people of the village sing and dance with pleasure.

"And it's been about two months since Rio came to this village. It's early."

"It's true. Now it's natural to have Rio."

It has only been about two months since Rio arrived, but among Dra and Ume, Rio was totally part of the villagers.

"Thank you all so much for making it better"

Rio expresses his gratitude as he smiles at Dora and Ume, who seem emotional.

"What is it? This one's in Rio, too."

"Ooh, Dora! Hey, come here!

I was about to say something, and a voice rang calling Dora.

"Oops, it's a call. Well, even this way, Rio takes care of me. You don't have to tell me that. Well, I'm just gonna go."

Laughing sunny, Dora walked away from the spot in a light foothold.

"That's what I'm talking about, Rio. Thanks to you, little by little, life in this village is getting better. Don't tell me that smells like water."

"Yes."

When Ume said so looking behind Dra as he walked away, he grinned lightly and Rio replied.

"And when I think of Rio leaving this village sooner or later, I'm gonna miss him now."

"It's... yes..."

It has been told to the villagers from the beginning that Rio will eventually leave this village.

This is how I've traveled and toured all sorts of places and met a lot of people, but when I say goodbye, it's easy to get a soggy air.

Rio still hadn't found the right way to deal with what to look like at these times, and he had an ambiguous grin.

"And some of the young women in the village are so seriously in love with you. They'll be sad, too."

"Uh..."

With a slightly distracted look, Rio gets stuck in words.

Looking sideways at Rio like that, with a niggle and a grin, Ume went on like this.

"Rio, you even like kids, don't you?

"Huh...?

The words gave Rio a glimpse of a bewildered expression.

I was surprised at the way you said it in your heart.

"You look like you don't know how. Well, it's a woman's idea."

"Woman's Question...... is it?

With a slightly (much) shivering voice, Rio said.

Is there really such a thing?

"Well, Rio doesn't really know what a woman is."

I shook my neck left and right as Ume shuddered that Rio's thoughts had been conveyed.

Feeling undeniable in Ume's words, Rio laughs bitterly.

"They must know somehow, too. So much so that I don't have a chance of winning. You also know that Rio will eventually leave this village."

Rural areas, where simple labor tasks predominate, are hard places for women to live on their own for life, and women must find a man who will support their lives from a young age.

I couldn't get married forever after all the ideals.

We just have to avoid that.

So it becomes imperative for the women to have the skills to see if a man cares about them.

They look directly at reality.

I don't fall in love that doesn't come true, and it's quick to draw.

"So even if I leave you alone, you don't have a single child to talk about excessively."

Ume's story continues.

"Still, you'd be more than welcome to come back from you, so I'm just making an appeal."

"Ha ha..."

With a slightly drawn face, Rio clouded his words.

Apparently, the romantic circumstances of the women in the village society were more cynical than I thought.

"Well, some of them still don't seem to be able to contain their feelings..."

And, as he smiled lonely and added, Ume said.

Noticing that change in expression, Rio once again comes up with a serious look.

"You realize how Sayo feels, don't you?

and Ume identified the person by name straight.

"Huh? Uh, no, well..."

Even as he clouded his words with a confused face, Rio replied close to affirmation.

Of all the bare gestures that have only made me wonder if the girls from other villages are concerned, only Sayo often goes into actions that convey his feelings straight to Rio.

Sayo himself is desperately trying to hide it, but he's not acting as good as the other girls.

So, to the boulder, Rio had also noticed thinly what she thought.

Nevertheless, I'm not sure why she thinks so much of herself.

"She cares about the gift you gave her."

And Ume mentioned the gift that Rio sent her the other day.

Yes, the other day, when he went to Wang Capital, Rio gave Sayo a gift of kanzashi.

Normally Rio would not behave in a manner that might be received if they were willing to do so without darkness to the opposite sex.

Only then, however, was the woman merchant's sales talk more skillfully aired and she acted exceptionally.

As for Rio, it was an act I did not think deeply about, but would it have been better not to give a gift or something without reading the air?

That's what I thought.

"I'm not blaming you for giving her a gift. If you say that, you'll deny people getting involved. I don't get angry if I don't distract people."

……

Rio was listening to Ume in silence.

"It's just that she's a little pure. That house lives with only its brothers and sisters after losing their parents early. Sin can see and be overprotective, so maybe that's disaster and Sayo has a bit of a mental immaturity"

The realistic side of a man's and woman's romantic views and marriage is what parents are supposed to teach their children.

Because Sayo didn't have a mother to teach it to, the adult women around him were supposed to teach it, but he was also allowed to speak excessively in front of his brother Singh.

The result is that Sayo has become a pure girl who has never rubbed much against romance.

So one day, I fell in love with Rio at first sight, coming from outside, and I kept falling in love all the way up to today.

"It would help if you didn't do anything to offend that kid's feelings. I know Rio's not a kid who does that, but I'm kind of crazy."

Say it, ugly ume.

"Well, if you're going to stay in this village, you're welcome to stick with that kid. I'm still hating you, but Sin shouldn't disagree either. No, it's not strange to support Sayo back there."

To her like that, Rio responded with an ambiguous smile.

Rio will soon depart from this village.

That is a fact that will never change.

So you can't choose the future that Rio will live with Sayo in this village.

Should I tell you that fact?

That's what I thought, and that's when I almost opened my mouth to tell him away...

(What?)

Rio noticed that there were some people entering the village's magical juncture.

The number is ten.

I'm not going to hide any signs, and I can't feel any hostility.

There shouldn't be any villagers out right now.

Then be an outsider.

"... excuse me. I'm going to take my seat off a little bit."

When I told Ume that I was sorry, Rio stood up.

I don't think Ume is going to pull it off, either, because she's going to shoot him.

Rio moved on to those who came straight to the village.

There were ten men and women there.

I can see from what I do that each person is not just a person.

It turns out that the strengths of the two men and women, particularly in the expensive garments that are at the forefront, are well off.

Weapons are in the vault of time and space.

If I were to take it out, I would have a flash of time lag.

I'm not hostile to them, but I've never done anything to keep them on guard.

"Can I help you with this village?

They also noticed that Rio was not the only one, which conveyed a slight appearance.

But only the first two responded slightly differently.

To an elderly man with a style as if he were a sardine, a woman of her age, surrounded by a mild and quiet atmosphere, stared at Rio's face as if she had trembled her body.

"Also, what if... Master Rio..., isn't it revealed in Master Rio?

"Oh, yes..."

A completely strange elderly man suddenly called me to look at him, so Rio was taken aback and opened his eyes.

"Oh! Again!

Then a man uttered a voice that was somehow impressive.

"Uh..."

I can't swallow the circumstances, and Rio makes a bewildered voice.

I don't even remember meeting the people in front of me anywhere.

Since he came to this country, Rio had almost stayed in this village, so he must remember every human face he met anywhere else.

"I'm sorry. I don't remember seeing you, but who is it?

With a voice that kept him calm, Rio quietly ascertained the men's identity.

The leading man roared as small as he was impressed by the restlessness of his youth.

"I'm sorry for this! It's in you saga-gooki bastards! This is Saga-Cayoko in the house. The only people behind us are his men."

A man named Goki gave a row of introductions with a grin.

One line is kneeling (kneeling) on his feet on the ground, not tired of his clothes getting dirty.

That was just a courtesy to my subordinates.

"Ha ha..."

Suddenly, Rio stared at the gowks.

Not to much of a sudden, neither does Rio understand the situation on the boulder.

But when you kneel like this, you're sure you're uncomfortable.

"Your clothes will get dirty too, so just get up"

Like trouble, says Rio.

"But..."

With a reluctant voice and in awe, the men continued to kneel on the spot.

"I want to ask you what's going on first, so please really. Let's just get moving."

And I said it in a tone that didn't make Rio feel urgent.

"… Ha, well, I'll be rude in awe"

Rio's thoughts were conveyed, the gowks nodded, and the men slowly rose.

"Then let's come."

With that said, Rio led the men out of the square and called Yuba.

When Yuba saw the gowks, he opened his eyes wide...

"Did Lord Goki come directly to this village after all..."

And with a bittersweet look, I said.

"Long time no see, Lord Yuba. Apparently we're having a festival of riches, but I'm sorry to disturb you"

"No, because it's time to settle down"

Apparently, based on the content of the conversation, the two are friends of the old knowledge.

"Let's just move to our house. Talk to me there."

"Never mind."

"No, this is the one who called. Okay, let's come. Come with me, Rio."

"Okay."

I remain unsure of the circumstances, but decided that it did not seem to be a mere matter, and Rio decided to follow Yuba's words.
