Lesson 65: Gathering Information

The day after Celia began to live in Rio's house, Rio joined Celia in a visit to Amando, a trading city located on the southwestern tip of the Kingdom of Galark.

"I've never been here before, but it's a beautiful, vibrant city."

Celia walks next to Rio, looking around in a way that is attracting interest.

By the way, Celia is changing the color of her hair from white to blonde with magic props made by Rio now.

Celia's atmosphere had changed so much that even Rio could mistakenly see it just by looking at it.

"Yeah, it looks like a man named Leezelotte, the Duke of Cretier's maid, pushed for reform of the city."

to Rio to tell why Amando is flourishing.

"Well, actually, my friend serves the Duke's Lady."

And Celia casually shakes the subject.

"Really?

"Yeah, I was actually the daughter of a prestigious knight in the Kingdom of Beltram, but the house collapsed. I also dropped out of Royal College and managed to serve as a female apprentice at the Royal Castle, but I quit because of the strong wind."

It's not just the Kingdom of Beltram, it's basically an absolute identity in this world's nation of humans.

Not all nobles say so, but there are many who wear their identities in kasas and sprinkle prestige on the unidentified.

This trend is particularly pronounced in places where there are many aristocrats and their equivalents, and places such as the Royal College and the Royal Castle, where Rio was.

"The wind does seem strong when it comes out of a fallen house."

"Yeah. But he was a very good kid. In Royal College, I was the chief of writing and magic, but he was the chief of martial arts until he dropped out."

"That's amazing"

And, as impressed, Rio says.

Women are also supposed to learn martial arts as a minimal form of protection in case something happens at the Royal College, but there are few courtiers who genuinely punch into training.

At best, it is only perceived by the light exercise of body shape making, and there is also an ambience around it, and almost no woman achieves the top grades in martial arts.

Not to mention it would be quite rare to be the chief.

"Yeah, I ended up being an adventurer because I hated the Kingdom of Beltram. My strength is origami, so I think I quickly showed up at the corner of my head. He's been scouted by a warrant lady here for a job in the Galark kingdom."

"Have you had any interactions lately?

"Yeah. Actually, it was that kid who delivered Rio's letter. He exchanged letters regularly until he was placed under house arrest."

"I see..."

Even as I nod small, I find myself strangely uncomfortable with Celia's words.

Rio twisted his neck slightly.

"I did ask the Ricca Chamber of Commerce to deliver the letter..."

I told him, I showed him how to think.

"What's wrong?

Wondering how Rio was doing, she peered into Rio's face from the side and Celia asked.

"No, your friend in Cecilia was bought an arm as an adventurer and hired by this Duke's Lady, right?

Rio speaks as he calls Celia's pseudonym.

Celia is asked to decide on a pseudonym when visiting Amando.

I don't feel a little cheap about Cecilia, but I can't recognize it because it's too different from my real name, so this name was adopted.

gossip.

"That's right. What's wrong with that?

"No, indeed, the Ricca Chamber of Commerce is the breath-taking Chamber of Commerce of the Duke of Cretia, but I wondered if I would let such a skilled subordinate engage in mere courier work"

And, Rio said why he felt uncomfortable.

"Oh, speaking of which, I stopped by Wang Du for work. You said something like last time. Looks like my boss gave me a letter delivery because she's someone I know."

"Were you?"

On the surface he had a convincing voice, but Rio felt somewhat uninterrupted.

Assuming Celia's story, the person who asked her to deliver Rio's letter would have known Celia's relationship with her acquaintance.

I know that a letter to deliver to a nobleman would pick the right person for the courier, but even though I know him, it doesn't bother me to pick a militant person.

Celia's acquaintance is said to be a person who was directly scouted by the Duke of Cretia warrant.

Perhaps the person who asked Celia's acquaintance to deliver the letter is the Duke of Cretia warrant.

I thought of that, and, uh, one girl came to Rio's head.

(No, it's just speculation any more)

Too many indeterminate pieces to see the puzzle pattern.

Think so, when Rio interrupts his thoughts for a moment.

"Aria was moaning about the constant struggle because she was a freelance boss."

And Celia spoke ridiculously.

Apparently, someone named Aria is Celia's friend.

I felt it sounded familiar somehow, but Rio couldn't remember.

Immediately he reconsiders that it might be his fault, and Rio shakes his head (wears it) small.

"Maybe people are rough when it's also the Ricca Chamber of Commerce now. Or is it the Duke of Cretier's Lady who makes people rough?"

I said, Rio had a prank grin to get his mind back on.

"Come on, you don't say much. Noblemen are ears and ears."

While saying so in words, Celia had the same pranky grin as Rio.

Nobility is a creature that cares about honor.

You can't complain about civilians being killed if they insult nobility because they're on the table in front of the public.

These jokes are often whispered in places without nobility, though.

"Cecilia says it weighs a lot."

Rio says bitterly.

"Hey, what does that mean?

Celia asks with a beautiful grin.

Rio stays smiling bitterly.

"Haha. It doesn't mean anything. Is that right, or does Cecilia just want to see her friend?

That's what I said to get off topic, and I watched Celia.

"Um, well, I'd like to see you, but I don't know how things are going so far. For once, Aria serves the nobility of the Kingdom of Galark. Until the attitude of the Kingdom of Galark towards the Kingdom of Beltram is finalized, I will put it on hold."

When Celia said so, Rio grinned satisfactorily.

"Okay. Tell me whenever you want to see me. I'll take care of it whenever possible. I basically leave my decision to Cecilia based on my concerns."

And I told him so.

Even though the political instability is due to the coup d 'état, there can be ample possibility at the moment to secure the identity of Celia, whose friend Aria serves the nobility of the Kingdom of Galarc by the life of the Lord, in order to sell her grace to the Kingdom of Beltram, which is still a friendly country.

It is Rio's heart to want to ensure Celia's freedom of movement wherever possible, although she cannot act naggingly.

Celia can't do that, so she can be trusted.

"Oh, you trust me."

to Celia smiling happily.

"If you let your contact with a friend go completely off, it's no different than being under house arrest like that. There is no reason to restrict Cecilia's freedom of movement if the risk of personal danger is acceptable."

And Rio answers with a flattering shoulder.

"Thank you. Maybe the Duke's maid will be your guardian via the kid, and in case you need to rely on her."

"Well, you're sure it's easier to act with a trustworthy back shield. It's a problem to rely on unilaterally."

"You can use me as a negotiating card there. I'm the kind of magician every country wants."

Celia speaks a little better.

"If the terms are good and Cecilia wants them, I'll have the bargaining materials. Take it easy, Cecilia."

That said, Rio smiled softly at Celia.

"... thanks"

In the slightly stronger morning sun, her face slightly reddened and Celia thanked her.

So, the store you're looking for comes into view.

"Well, it's time to get to the store where you want to be. We should have everything we need there."

And that's what Rio said.

"I knew it was a big store. When it comes to the Ricca Chamber of Commerce, it is also a popular brand store for aristocratic women in the Kingdom of Beltram. I think the price will be there for good quality, but are you sure it's okay with that store over there?

Celia smiles happily as to whether her heart is leaping for a long time out.

"Yeah, because I have a lot more money. Quality objects would be better anyway. Don't worry, Miharu and her clothes are all bought at the Ricca Chamber of Commerce."

"Speaking of which, was Rio being paid a good amount of money by the state? Do you still have that money?

"Yeah, I spent very little other than buying the supplies I needed when I ran away, so I have a few pieces of money for the Demon Gold coin that says it's cash. I also have a ton of demonic stones that I knocked down while I was traveling, so if you sell that, you don't have to work for the rest of your life. I'd rather not run out."

"... aren't you a little wealthier than the nobles around there?

Turn your gaze at Rio like Celia was frightened.

"I don't know how much nobility earns, so I can't say anything."

"If you're a junior nobleman, you earn about forty gold coins a year. If I had a piece of magic gold, I'd make more money that year. That house is much more comfortable than the mansion of a noble man, and his diet is much richer, and he's too worthy."

Celia laughed as she shrugged.

"I told you when I took Cecilia out. There's so much out of common sense."

Rio flaunts his shoulder small.

"Yeah, you were full of things out of common sense in a good way. Thanks to you, I'm enjoying the most comfortable life of my life right now, and I really appreciate Rio."

That's how we get to the front of the store while we're having a conversation.

The two stop and somehow gaze at each other.

Then we noticed that our mouths were welcoming to each other and strengthened our laughter with a hoot.

"Okay, we'll meet up later. It will be for a lot of things, and can I shop for about two hours?

"Yeah, I think if we just get that much time, we'll be fine."

Celia makes sense of the word, so she can ask the clerk if she doesn't know anything.

Some things are a little sloppy, but even if they were aristocratic, they would be more accustomed to shopping than the civilian population, and they wouldn't have a problem because they've given enough money away.

"No, because I have business too. If you stay on the ground floor, I'll pick you up."

"Okay. Then be careful."

"Yes, and Cecilia."

Say goodbye and watch Celia enter the store.

Upon entering the store, Rio began his journey to complete his own use.

First off, it's an unpopular alley.

Take a gentle breath, making sure there are no signs of people around you.

When I meditate my eyes small, Rio's face is covered in light and his appearance changes instantly.

In the next moment, there were adult men on the spot who looked different from Rio.

What Rio did was change due to spirituality.

What you are doing is the same as changing the color of your hair, but changing your appearance is more difficult than comparing.

The technique of change is complicated and difficult to handle the operation of the odd and mana, and since it is necessary to manipulate the odd at all times to interfere with the mana, the technique is solved as soon as it is distracted.

So if you want to make changes permanently, it is more efficient to create demonic or spiritual items, but for making changes temporarily, it is enough with spiritual art.

Regardless during the battle, Rio decided to make a change in spirituality because he didn't have to worry that the technique could be solved as long as he acted in the city.

Taking a small, deep breath, Rio switched consciousness and walked away from the alley.

Rio came to the tavern, a little outside the food and beverage district, among Amando's commercial districts.

Even though it's still daylight, there's a lot of men in the tavern who look like adventurers making a scene.

Rio went straight to the counter without getting lost.

"Ask for recommendations with distilled liquor"

"How do you drink?

"I'll take care of it. It's just a little strong."

"Okay. Leave it to me."

After finishing the conversation with few words, the store owner went to work to make the order liquor.

I was middle-aged when I was a year old, and there is no waste whatsoever in the skill set after years of experience.

"By the way, you're a face I don't see. Are you an adventurer from another city?

The shopkeeper has been public speaking to Rio, who sits in a chair shabby.

"Oh, hey, I was traveling around looking for people. Yes. Do you have any idea who the master is? I'm an adventurer called Lucius."

Changing his usual tone, he pretended to be an unreliable (blah) adventurer, and Rio asked.

Rio chose an adventurous tavern to gather information.

It was decided that the master who runs these taverns would have a similar role as an informant.

"Hmm. How much information do you want?

Expected (bingo).

I was planning on going around those stores from one end to the other until I pulled the hit, but I'm lucky to be able to get to the desired store from the beginning.

Rio laughed tiny and damned.

"If you can find a simple figure, ask for a location."

"... one small piece of silver coin."

"Oh, please"

This is the first time that these activities have taken place, but Rio offered a piece of softly small silver coin on the poker face.

When the small silver coins are neatly placed on hand, the store owner begins to explain them pale.

"Lucius. A first-degree adventurer. Specializing in the mercenary industry. The commanding mercenary regiment Lion in Heaven (The Griffon) is famous enough to count as one of the undefeated and most powerful mercenary regiments. My strength as a warrior is superb. Well, to this point, it's objectively definitive information that's apparently well known."

The store owner hangs up his words once here.

Adventurers are ranked in six levels, with the lowest being the fifth level adventurer, who becomes the top adventurer with every diminution in numbers.

It is the superior adventurer who is above the first level, but with a strong honorary class connotation, the number of which is very small.

Therefore, essentially the first rank will be the highest rank.

Anyway, enjoying the aroma of the liquor offered, Rio was silently listening to the shopkeeper's explanation.

I just throw my gaze at the store owner for not telling me to keep talking.

The shopkeeper continued his conversation as he nodded small.

"I don't know how far it's true because it's normal in this industry to make a hat out of it, but I've heard rumors that he was originally so much a user in the Kingdom of Beltram that he was chosen as a candidate for The King's Sword."

Rio opens his eyes small to the story.

"The King's Sword" is the title given to the Supreme Swordsman recognised by the King of the Kingdom of Beltram.

As far as Rio knows, the former 'King's Sword' should have been Alfred-Emar, the Kingsguard Knights Commander.

I don't remember who 'The King's Sword' was before that.

The store owner perceived Rio's reaction agile and laughed small.

"Well, I mean strong enough to back it up."

And so he added.

"The range of activities has fallen, but there were times when we were operating in the Kingdom of Galark. I don't hear any rumors of activity here these days, but I don't know if it's massive or small, but there's a good chance we're going to be in a war, so I guess if we go to a war country, we'll see each other."

Apparently, he doesn't have much information about where he is.

I'm a little concerned about not hearing rumors of activity these days, but the tip is that it's war.

From what I hear, he's like a war addict.

No, maybe mercenaries are like that.

Not to his expression, Rio smashed his tongue inside.

"I see. So, do you have any idea of a country where war might be taking place in the near future?

Rio stared at the shopkeeper.

The owner shrugged his shoulder.

"Everywhere stinks these days. It is not strange to breast the war in the great powers to the Proxian Empire or the Kingdom of Beltram. I don't know what country they're going to be in, but it could be this country. If you go north of Galark, there will be skirmishes behind the Proxian Empire and the Galark Kingdom every day."

"I see. Thank you."

And Rio thanked him small.

"No, I just did a fee job"

The store owner answers proudly.

Rio laughed thinly and drank out a glass of booze.

"Would you like another drink of this store's other recommendations?"

"Oh, I'll take care of it."

I ordered another drink additionally and Rio continued his conversation with the store owner.

For now, I could hear stories about Lucius, but there's something else I'd like to hear.

Especially information about the brave.

However, the shopkeeper had not yet been able to purchase more information about the brave men.

All I could know was about the direction where the pillar of light stood.

It may not even be possible now that only a few days have passed since the brave summons was given.

"A treat. Booze, you're doing a good job. I'll be back."

"Whoa, good payers are always welcome. These days, there are a lot of idiots who can afford an informant."

He's not going to live long.

"Totally."

Glancing and laughing niggardly, Rio left the tavern with a price on the table.

Then, as we still had time to rendezvous with Celia, we stroll around the city and shop.

When the time arrived and Celia and I rendezvous, Rio went home.
