Section Three: seeping malice

The voice is warm, but warm.

Those eyes are sharp, but gentle.

"Ah..."

Toslin. Appearing before me for the first time in roughly four days, she held a great sword backwards in her hand that made me lay a little rampant on the ground.

"Yeah, I know. It's painful, right? Now... I'll make it easier for you."

That's what I said, poking at the tip of it.

"Heh...... Ha!?

Shortly afterwards, my body jumped on the snow bickering.

"What the hell!!"

"Laplice, it's okay. Be quiet and watch."

Saluena stopped Lapris, who tried to grab him by Toslin.

"Come on, come out. The only way to hide, you son of a bitch."

That's what Toslin said, poking my... sword deeper into the shadows. Then the force fell out of my body, and eventually it became easier to breathe. And freedom returns to the body. I can also breathe. And voices, too.

"Tosling!!

She held me down with her hand when she tried to hold me.

"Oh, sorry. I'm glad Iris can hold me, because I smell a little bit right now, I guess. Besides... we have to deal with these guys, right?"

"... Ah... Speaking of which, I..."

"Oh, hey Iris!! Your shadow!! Something's out of your feet!!"

When Laplice told me to look at my feet, there was my shadow there. But this shadow, it's weird.

"Wow, something's coming out!?"

If you look closely, something, like black smoke, is rising from the shadows.

"Shadow Spirit...... I see these guys weren't undead, they were just manipulating the body"

I was not familiar with the word "shadow spirits" Saluena spoke of. Then Toslin pulled out his sword and held it back in order.

"Oh. These guys dive into the shadows and take away the freedom of their hosts. The corpse, naturally, enters forcibly, if necessary alive, and takes the flesh away after killing it."

"Ebony..."

"Ho ho ho... Ha, ha... Oh, well... So the unicorn magic didn't respond..."

My shadow is stretching long now. Ahead is the wreckage of Snowwolf, which I just defeated. If you get directly into it, you can't prevent it no matter how magical it is.

"You... will receive the reward of tormenting my sister."

There was the figure of the Shadow Spirits, seeping out of the fallen Snowwolf, ahead of Toslin's glance.

"If you don't have a body to move, you guys are just cluttered fish!!"

Toslin packed his time at once and cut to the nearby spirits.

The sword flash stretches straight to the side, breaking both spirits. Then he can't keep himself, and disappears in the wind like smoke.

"Saluenah!! Stand around well to avoid being trampled by shadows!!"

"I know. If you know who you are, it's not a trick."

If Toslin defeats the Shadow Spirit in one piece, Saluena will also defeat him in one piece. And again, again, again.

Saluena always positions the moon as it comes to the front, swording away the spirits trying to dive into the shadows.

On the other hand, Toslin is fine, whether the shadows overlap or are trampled. Wielding a long, thick iron sword like a typhoon, he turned the spirits one after the other into fog.

"I knew it... it wasn't an elf."

"Come on, I can't hear you!!"

He waved his sword down to the last remaining Shadow Spirit as Toslin moved his ears tingly, a hallmark of the species.

"... So that's it? There's no such thing as a misfitting one, is there?"

"Oh, all the spirits that were manipulating these beasts seem to have disappeared. But that armor's handy."

"Right. It didn't mean a lot to the dragon opponents, but this time they've saved their lives several times."

Speaking of which, does Toslin's armor have a special treatment that reduces magic? So were you just left without the interference of the Spirit?

Yeah, but... now it's better than that...

"Toslin... hey, Toslin... Toslin!!"

Stand up with fluttering feet and walk as if swimming through the vision seeping in tears. And... I hugged Toslin.

"So now it's me... oh, already... this kid..."

"Help me, I have... Tosling! Good, Toslin, safe and sound..."

Words that don't get guidelines go out with one mouth after another. Relief, fear, joy, anxiety. Various emotions are swirling in my mind and disturbing my words.

"... yeah, sorry. I almost worried, didn't I? And Saluena, sorry."

Toslin gently slaps my head jumping with a hug so I can forgive you. I miss that feeling so much that every time I'm stroked, tears flood out of my eyes.

"Is there something wrong with me?"

"Why don't you? You went to Auschnell, right?"

"Oh, that's, that's not..."

Face up from Toslin's chest and wet tears. And he explained the past four days to her in the face that understanding was not keeping up.
