Chapter 2049: Zhizhi: If Anything Happens, I’ll Cover for You
Su Yunling nodded. "Everything’s taken care of. We can set off early tomorrow morning."
As soon as Su Yunling finished speaking, Tang Yichen, who was sitting in the passenger seat, turned around to look at Gu Zhiqi. "Gu Xiaoxi, since you were a student of Nine Stars Academy a long time ago, you must have been to Nine Stars City, right? How well do you know Nine Stars City?"
Gu Zhiqi: "Not super well, but not poorly either."
Hearing that, Tang Yichen immediately said, "Then tell us about Nine Stars City."
"Don’t want to."
There was way too much that would need explaining; she really didn’t feel like talking.
Tang Yichen: "..."
After thinking for a bit, Gu Zhiqi still said to Tang Yichen, "When we get to Nine Stars City tomorrow, I’ll have someone take you around for a lap. That should be enough for you to get a feel for the place."
Hearing that, Tang Yichen’s eyes brightened slightly. "Now that’s what I’m talking about."
After a few seconds of silence, Tang Yichen suddenly spoke with a trace of worry, "Gu Xiaoxi, look, there are so many big shots in Nine Stars City. What if I accidentally provoke someone and lose my little life? You know, I’m only at the Fourth-order Middle Stage..."
Once he started talking, Tang Yichen just kept going on and on.
He was born directly into the powerful Tang family in the imperial capital, and after that, his luck was downright ridiculous. He got to know people like Su Yunling, and later, by some freak stroke of fate, he even became one of the leaders of the Ever Winning Army.
Tang Yichen’s whole life could be described as smooth sailing.
He’d basically never had to watch anyone’s mood in his entire life.
Recently, he’d also learned a bit about Nine Stars City and had found out that the place was absolutely packed with big shots.
As a little Fourth-order Middle Stage piece of trash, once he went in, he’d probably really have to live by reading people’s faces.
So, deep down, Tang Yichen was actually pretty uneasy.
Listening to him rambling on, Gu Zhiqi also picked up on the fact that he was feeling a bit unsettled.
So she said to Tang Yichen, "Once we’re in Nine Stars City, just act like we’re still back in Xia Country."
"If someone takes the initiative to mess with you, just let Big Black beat them up. If anything happens, I’ll cover for you."
She’d only known Tang Yichen for a little over a year, but he’d always treated her like his biological little sister.
Before this, whenever something happened, it was also him standing up for her.
Back in Xia Country, he was the one protecting her.
Nine Stars City was her turf, so now it was her turn to protect him.
Once Gu Zhiqi said that, Tang Yichen felt a sour tightness in his chest.
A little bit moved.
He suddenly turned his head to look at Gu Zhiqi, eyes burning. "Really?"
Gu Zhiqi raised her brows and looked back at him.
Tang Yichen stared at Gu Zhiqi suspiciously. "Gu Xiaoxi, be honest with me. Besides being a student of Nine Stars Academy, do you have some other impressive identity in Nine Stars City?"
Gu Zhiqi didn’t answer.
Identity-wise, she did have a few.
But if possible, it’d be best if none of them got exposed.
After all, once she finished patching all the loopholes and finished leveling up Chubby Chiu, she was planning to retire and live out her days in peace.
If her alts got exposed, it would affect her retirement.

The few of them went to Shadow Pavilion to eat.
After eating, Gu Zhiqi didn’t go back to the Wei Family, but went with Su Yunling to the Xilu Villa District instead.
That night, Su Yunling asked Gu Zhiqi for the formation diagram for breaking the Phoenix Rebirth Seal.
"You figured it out?"
Seeing Su Yunling take out a sheet of paper, fit it into several formation diagrams in the middle, and then start writing and drawing on it, Gu Zhiqi asked curiously.
"No idea if it’ll work or not. We’ll have to try."
Previously, he’d asked Gu Zhiqi for photos of the diagrams. He’d been staring at those photos studying the Formation these past few days.
He did have some clues now, but since he hadn’t seen the actual diagrams, he still didn’t know if it would really work.
