Chapter 1769 - 1846: Blocked at the Door Early in the Morning
"Stop, what are you planning to deliver to our team?" This guy is a lawyer, and every time he shows up, it feels like bad luck is around. His visits to our team are obviously up to no good.
"Chen Yingjie, what are you doing here instead of being at the rescue team?"
"None of your business."
"Then you have no right to meddle in my affairs either." Qiao Zhe snorted arrogantly and rushed off to the Special Rescue Team.
*******
Early in the morning at the Family Compound of the Special Rescue Team, Qin Yue was awoken by the noise outside his window. He opened his eyes to find the little cutie in his arms still sleeping sweetly, her delicate eyebrows furrowed, as if there was something troubling her.
Qin Yue gently smoothed An’an’s furrowed brow. The girl opened her bewildered eyes, staring at him a bit dumbfounded.
"You’re awake?"
"Mm! Did you sleep well?" Qin Yue’s voice was terribly hoarse. When he saw the girl nod, he broke into a mischievous smile, "Then let’s do something meaningful together!" Before An’an could respond, he caught her neck in his hand and pulled her in for a deep, possessive kiss.
"Mmph... no." An’an struggled to break free.
Qin Yue reluctantly let her go, "Alright then, I’ll let you off for now. I understand your traditional mindset. Today, we’ll go to your house to propose marriage."
"We?" An’an asked with a smile, her eyes gradually clearing.
Realizing his blunder, Qin Yue quickly corrected himself, "I meant I’m the one with a conservative mindset, it’s, it’s me, haha..." He needed to hurry up and make a proposal, otherwise he’d stifle to death eventually.
To think of himself, a little hooligan, dying of frustration like that; if word got out, wouldn’t it be too embarrassing?
Since when do hooligans get stifled to death? Could that even be considered a real hooligan?
As the two exchanged words, the noise outside became louder and louder. Qin Yue, already full of pent-up anger looking for an outlet, rubbed An’an’s little head, slipped into his clothes, and headed out.
As soon as he pulled open the door, he saw quite a few people standing outside.
Seeing him come out, they nonchalantly continued to stare at his neighbor’s door. Yesterday, when he arrived, the place next door was empty, but why was it so lively this morning?
"Qin Yue, you’re up?" Shangguan Tao greeted him casually, indicating to everyone to keep their voices down.
"Our team came back late last night." Shangguan Tao’s face looked a bit awkward, scratching his nose uncomfortably as he spoke.
The others, hearing this, acted like it was none of their business, but upon closer inspection, their expressions matched Shangguan Tao’s awkwardness precisely.
Qin Yue burst into laughter, crossing his arms, "So, early in the morning, are you all here to see the prisoners?"
"You can’t say it like that; we’re just concerned about the team leader." Shangguan Tao refused to admit it.
The others again displayed a hesitant-to-speak look.
"Alright, alright, you can watch Living Yama all you want, it has nothing to do with me. But bothering me this early in the morning is unacceptable, get lost already."
"That’s not going to happen, if you think it’s too noisy, then move to the guesthouse."
"Why should I be the one to move?"
"Hey! Little hooligan, what you’ve said is wrong; this entire place belongs to our team. What’s it got to do with you? Here you are, yelling and commanding us, who do you think you are?" An impulsive person advanced to hit him, but Shangguan Tao stopped them.
"Shut up, all of you! Say less."
"Yes, Director."
Qin Yue flashed a provocative smile, and suddenly felt a pinch on his waist. That was his sensitive spot, which he usually wouldn’t let anyone touch. Turning around, he found the little cutie looking at him sternly.
