Older than I was when I was alive, but the atmosphere on my face hasn't changed at all.

Probably used immortal magic about ten years after I used reincarnation magic.

"I didn't expect to find out about this place.... unfortunately we didn't see how the battle went, but you must be brilliant to defeat as many as three of the 'Devils of the Earth'"

Through communication magic, Greville can be heard.

The voice didn't sound like he was sorry his people were defeated.

Rather, it even sounds delightful.

"... you're Greville. Why are you doing this?

"I'll see why."

I ask Greville, pretending I just found out about Greville.

But I didn't get the answer.

I don't suppose it's simply the purpose of destroying humans, more than you're purposefully trying to talk to me about.

If you just want to destroy a human being, you have no reason to use this kind of communication magic to tell me about the mastermind.

The communication magic from the other side is not even disguised as the source of the communication.

Instead of being low-skilled and not being able to fake it, it doesn't look deliberately disguised.

It's like you want me to locate you.

"By the way, do you know where I am?

After a little silence, Greville asked me.

"Oh. Perfect."

"That's good.... I'm counting on you guys.... Let's do a three-month prep period. If that passes, I will destroy man. … come and defeat me at best."

Having heard my words, Greville tells us so in a satisfied voice.

And the comms went out.

I'm going to have to punch him in directly and make sure.

"What's the prep period... what do you mean?

Alma asks me that after the comms go out.

It's my first experience, too, when my enemies present me with a Prep Period.

But I can predict from what I said.

"Between now and three months, Greville will mean stopping moving to destroy humans. So in the meantime, punch me in the face."

"... what are you doing that for? If you want to destroy humans, there's no point in doing that, is there?

"Exactly.... so I guess Greville's purpose isn't just to destroy humans"

Greville said to us, "I'm counting on you."

I don't know what you're expecting about... 'expecting' from the human side, etc., is not a statement made by a guy who simply wants to destroy humans.

"Uh... you want to destroy it while you enjoy the fight, or something like that?

"There's a chance of fake, isn't there? Tell him I'll give him time to stay alert, and in the meantime, prepare him or something!

"It's not like you want to enjoy the fight. Possible faux... but if so, I can't explain why the place where the communication magic originates isn't disguised. If it's too easy to detect, you'll be suspicious the other way around."

If it was the Demons who used communications magic, it's no wonder they didn't understand those rushes.

But the opponent is Greville - even if he was a man who was king in his previous life. You can't possibly not understand that extent.

Instead, I suppose he didn't deliberately disguise himself after assuming he was even suspicious.

"I don't want to have fun and destroy it, I'm not fake... then why..."

"I don't know.... but Greville's right, there's no other option but to board directly. He probably really has the means to destroy humans."

So far, Greville doesn't seem to have the will to destroy humans per se.

Or if Greville was serious about destroying humans, humans in this day and age would be driven into a state of devastation.

Because there are so many weapons in the legacy of ancient civilization that we can drive humans into destruction today without using demons or anything else, and Greville knows how to use them.

But after three months of leaving Greville unattended, there is no guarantee that Greville will not bring out that ancient weapon.

I have no idea what Greville is thinking right now.

"... there's a chance you're setting a trap and looking for a payback, right?

"Oh. Naturally, security will be tight where Greville is. Greville himself must be pretty strong."

Sure, Greville didn't have a magical talent, but that's the 'lack of talent' of ancient civilizational standards.

With a proper magic education and a long period of training, anyone can be stronger than the Demons of today.

Even second-school students who are treated like monsters in this day and age haven't studied proper chant-free magic for a year.

But Greville, as an ancient civilization-era royalty, has had a level of magic training well beyond the second school for over thirty years.

If I had been subjected to more immortal magic and continued my workouts, I would have even gone beyond the period of my previous life when I was trained.

No matter how talented you are, there's no way that magic fighters with all that training are weak.

At least Greville is more overwhelming than I am at the strength of magic and magic.

... If you do poorly, don't be more powerful than Zaridias.

Thinking about that...... Lurii raised his voice to the lid.

"There is a hidden door in this room!

"Hidden doors?

That stuff, it shouldn't have been in this room.

With that in mind, I see where Lurii pointed... but there was a hidden door.

Probably a pretty new stash room.

As far as the material on the door is concerned, it's been made in the last ten years or so.

The door was already open.

"... it's too small to fit inside."

"You don't seem to be able to get people in... the bottom is shallow, and that's all the contents"

So Lurii took the box out of the hidden door.

It's not very good to inadvertently move these suspicious things... well, nothing happened, okay?

With that in mind, I look at the box.

"It's so tightly sealed."

"... poison or something, explosive?

"No, it's not like that."

The box was made of magical material.

If this is just 'passive detection', I know what's in the box.

The result is...

"It's a book."
