Chapter 93 - 85: The Jester’s Madness

Sponsored

Luis couldn’t move, only watching helplessly as his mother was kicked and about to be killed. He clenched his teeth as blood poured from his mouth.

"Now, let’s finish this dance." Jester summoned his axe and headed toward Luis as Ariana watched her son about to die.

"Do you know that everyone thinks I’m a psycho? But it’s just that I see things you all don’t see."

Jester raised his axe to Luis’s face.

"Your problem is that you only focused on your own corner of the world and never bothered to look beyond it.

That’s why, when another kingdom got bombed, it became part of your life too, because you will be next.

If you want to protect what you love, you need to protect your own land. To protect your land, you must make sure the lands around you are safe as well.

You lost today because you refused to understand the laws of this world. Even now, you still ask whether it’s fair."

"Haaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaa."

A psycho laugh escaped Jester’s mouth.

"Fairness has never protected anyone.

Justice has never existed without bloodshed.

The world doesn’t change because people wish for it to. It changes because there’s a will of someone who was ready to bear the cost and become a villain in the face of all his enemies.

So before you force your morals upon the world again, back it with power and resources.

You can’t change anything from inside; try to start from the outside.

But as for me, I won’t be a hero or villain for anything.

I am just a gray character.

That’s why they call me the Jester of every stage: servant of none, explorer of all, prisoner of everyone.

So let me finish this."

As Jester finished his words, his axe was pushed down as a gray aura erupted from him as he gave his last warning.

"So, will you give me Pandora’s Heart or not, my monstrous lady?"

"Stop, please. Stop, please. I’ll do anything, just don’t touch my son."

"No, Mom, don’t give it to him."

Luis’s face contorted as blood poured from him.

"Ohhh, big sis has turned pathetic just to protect her adopted son."

"What a pathetic way," Adrian spoke, his voice carrying a hint of resentment toward her.

Jester walked to her as his eyes turned crimson, all the gray having disappeared, and corruption took over.

Without a word, he caught Ariana by her throat and used tarot cards to conjure a tent.

What Jester was about to do was to tame the heart of Pandora.

He began his monstrous torture.

Ariana screamed a scream of despair, and only Jester’s laughter echoed as Luis’s shouts rose. "Leave my mother alone!"

"You bastaaaaaaaaaaard!!!!!!"

"What did we do to you?"

As Luis’s outbursts increased, Adrian answered with more punches.

Three minutes later, Ariana was thrown out of the tent, her body covered in blue bruises, blood pouring from everywhere.

Jester emerged, fastening his lower garments and speaking in an evil tone.

"The taste of the monstrous isn’t that bad, after all."

Yes, Jester had now destroyed her: physically, spiritually, and mentally.

He raised his axe to finish her off and take Pandora’s Heart.

A dark aura burst from Luis as he sent Adrian crashing into the wall.

Jester turned, sensing the corrupted power.

Looking closer, he saw something behind Adrian.

A soul appeared behind Adrian, and it was none other than Lin Noctarine.

And not just any version. It was the version that had awakened with the adaptation instinct.

The big brother had come to discipline his little brother.

Luis had just signed a contract with something mysterious.

He had broken one of the Knowledge Paths and sold his soul to something mysterious that offered him power.

As Jester looked at the mysterious shadow, he remembered the tarot card he had drawn at the age of twelve.

But he had no time to think, because Luis had already caught him by the eyes.

Sending him crashing.

As Jester tried to stand, Luis’s knee drove fast into Jester’s stomach.

Adrian appeared, and a shadow pulse burst from him, aimed to pierce them both.

Jester’s eyes glowed gray again, mad and wild, and his body automatically dodged Luis’s attack. He caught him by his clothes and used a strange move that broke Luis’s body, blood pouring from everywhere, then raised his hand as the axe flew back into his grip.

"Who gave you the right to use his move? Answer me. Who the hell taught you this martial art?"

"I am going to kill you."

"How dare you use this martial art in front of me?"

Jester swung his axe to finish Luis’s head.

"Don’t touch my son!"

Ariana shifted into her monster form, her aura changing. She had overcome everything, so that if she was going to die, she would save her son first.

Using her last arm, she struck Adrian and Jester both with tremendous power. Adrian was sent hitting the wall again, with no chance to react. As for Jester, she kept hitting him until he crashed into Adrian. Then, using the few seconds she had to draw a magic circle beneath Luis, she spoke her final words.

"The Clown... the Ruins of the Gray Masquerade... find them!"

"Moooooooooooom!!!!!!"

With that final shout, Luis vanished from the library, teleported away as every book was drawn into his necklace.

Adrian let out a long breath.

Then Jester dropped from the wall.

His expression darkened as gray energy erupted from his body.

He was now about to do a serious kill.

He pressed both legs down as he jumped high without giving her any time to react as a white wave escaped his leg that paralyzed Ariana and made a massive hole at the place of the jump.

"A jester without wings chose to fly high.

A pursuer of freedom, reaching for what lay beyond the sky.

A gray sun rose through mist and gloom.

The stage fell silent as the orchestra played its final role:

The epic doom of those who dared to defy the Fool.”

"Jesterism martial art: death kick."

As Jester activated his Path, Jesterism, slow motion seemed to envelop his attack area. He rotated through the air as he flipped, his right leg crashing down onto Ariana’s head.

Then he summoned his axe.

A black aura rose from him as he drew borrowed power from the heavenly demon Chunma Jeolmang.

"Now I have become despair, to destroy a world I never had."

His eyes darkened as one of his secrets was revealed.

Sudden cuts appeared from everywhere, sweat and darkness covering Jester’s face. Even Adrian felt fear.

The madness of the heavenly demon Jester surfaced as his scream echoed.

He bowed down and caught her heart, and then it disappeared with him.

Then his axe came again.

And boom!!!!

Cut! Cut! Cut! Cut! Cut!

Several cuts appeared as they cut her head off and disfigured her body.

“Reserve that head of hers... because this kid will try to avenge her, so let it be an insult for his pathetic future.

As for her body, you can feed it to my pet.”

"Should I catch him?" Adrian spoke. "He can’t escape if I make a move now."

"Did I ask you to do that?" A sudden gray energy outburst from Jester sent Adrian a few steps back.

Then his aura began to eliminate everything around him.

"No, Lord Jester."

"Goood."

"One last thing."

"Inform Alena and Serena to prepare for my meeting with Selene Twilight.”

"I’m leaving for now. I have some business to attend to.”

"And so, the White Maharaga had passed through here only to dominate a clown who was not a fool, but merely a reflection of the despair that had been written into the future.”

.......

"So Jester used my power!!!!!!"

A cold voice echoed through a place filled with skulls and blood. A young man had awakened there, carrying an old crimson wine vessel. He poured the wine into a human skull and drank from it.

The corpses surrounding him had been slain only a few hours earlier.

According to the Murim Archives:

He was Chunma Jeolmang, not the Heavenly Demon Chonma.

Upon reaching the Higher Realm, he cast aside all titles, declaring them meaningless.

Why be called the Heavenly Demon when his name alone was enough to shake the whole world?

The Devil was not evil because he was a devil.

But because he was Chunma, the Despair of the Murim World and the catastrophe of the entire martial arts world.

And from that day onward, Chunma was no longer a name.

It became a title for a legend who had devoured devils.

An English Adaptation of My Original Song for Luis.

"O Musician of the Night”

O musician of the night, breaker of hearts,

Watcher of sorrow until the darkness departs.

Grant me, my beloved, a fragment of your song,

A melody to heal this stubborn heart for so long.

O hidden symphony of silent grief,

Companion to tears that find no relief.

My beloved... O Luis,

You are my longing, my sweetest peace.

No matter how far fate carries us apart,

Your name remains the fairest song within my heart.

O boy of Dawadmi,

How often you became my refuge from misery.

Whenever my chest grew heavy with despair,

I whispered your name, and dreams bloomed there.

O keeper of my sleepless nights,

Faithful friend beneath the fading lights.

You were a sword when the world turned cold,

And a sanctuary where my weary soul could unfold.

Then you appeared... O Ariana’s mother,

Within your heart I found a mother’s warmth like no other.

You were not the one who gave me birth,

Yet you embraced every fracture of my worth.

O star of truth, O guiding light,

You planted hope where my heart had lost its fight.

Even if every river in this world ran dry,

Your kindness would still keep my spirit alive.

Whenever I hear your name, longing returns,

Bringing with it the memories my heart still yearns.

I smile while the world believes I’m free,

Never knowing the sorrow hidden inside me.

So forgive the jester who has mastered his smile,

Who plays every role upon the stage with style.

He makes the crowd laugh when the curtain ascends,

Then leaves fate to whisper how his story ends
