Chapter 89 - 81: The Monster’s Philosophy
As the golden eagle muttered his last words, a gold light appeared and blinded everything.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!
A hoarse voice escaped Luis as he covered his two eyes with his elbow, and as ten seconds passed, the golden light slowly faded and everything around Luis changed.
He looked around only to find everything around him had disappeared.
He had become trapped in a strange place filled with mist and fog.
He started searching for anything that could help him in that strange situation, but he only found dark mud and a strange smell carrying bad vibes filling the place.
Luis stood up from the mud as he began removing his hands from it and wiped his clothes, only to see people who were sad and walking, seeming depressed and emotionless.
Luis turned his face up only to see a wooden announcement in front of the village. Its name was written: Viremoor Village.
Then he saw a handsome kid with grey hair and olive and silver eyes, who seemed about five years old.
He was laughing in a strange way, and as he did, his eyes turned crimson. He was roping three children together by their necks, using them as cattle, riding them as if they were donkeys.
When he felt generous, he just threw some candy at them and ordered them to bark.
The candy he threw came in different quantities. He gave six candies to the strongest one among them.
The strong one who got three began walking to Jester and licked his shoes, while the one who took one started a fight with the one who got two.
As the leader who got three walked over and licked his shoes, Jester felt disgusted, kicked the leader's mouth, and stood up from his wooden box.
Then he turned to Luis, who had stopped, stunned by the scene.
"Yooo, blonde boy, why is your face like that? You look like you've seen a ghost." The kid Jester continued his cute smile, tilting his head slightly. His presence alone gave Luis a bad feeling.
He and Luis kept staring at each other.
"Ok, now you are pissing me off."
Jester muttered as he kept staring at Luis, who began slowly walking toward him.
"Why are you doing that?" Luis asked as he moved into action. He had already guessed what this exam was about: to guide this kid, whose real identity he had also already guessed, since he was one of the more interesting characters recorded in the Archives.
He was Jester Graywoods, a child version of him, and this was one of his past recorded events.
Jester looked at Luis as his smile widened. "Isn't that how society works?
People in high society treat everyone else like slaves.
And these slaves love to lick their shoes for connections and money.
I gave one of them five candies. He took three and distributed the rest the wrong way. He gave one boy two and the other one, instead of the two who got less cooperating to take back what was rightfully theirs from the one who stole it.
They are fighting over the small scraps instead of taking what is actually there.
Isn't that funny?
And the big one left them and came to lick my shoes because his greed grew so much he wanted more of the drugged candy I made."
"Drugged candy?"
Luis looked at the small monster and clenched his hands as if he wanted to kill him.
But he already knew his exam was to guide this kid, not to kill him, and Luis had no idea what he should do to guide this evil child, who was worse than devils and monsters.
"Now it is my turn to ask you.
Why is a blond femboy interfering with my actions?
Because now you are pissing me off.
Because I hate men who act feminine.
So I am giving you ten seconds, or things will not turn out well for you."
"I am here to guide your soul to the right path."
"Haaaaaa, haaaaaaa. Guide me about what?
A stupid Twinkers blond femboy with blue eyes, guiding me?
I swear you must be an orphan, or fatherless, because you don't even look like a man to me.
Because no one would give birth to a joke like you and be proud of it.
And what knowledge do you even have to teach me?!
I think your mommy is going to need a new son soon.
Because I am pissed now."
Jester raised a small knife as he turned his short sleeve back and began walking toward Luis.
"Pissed?!
I am the one who is pissed, talking dirty about my mom and my masculinity.
Now I think there is a kid here who was born to die."
As Luis tried to summon magic through his Grimoire, he could not call it forth.
Damn it, this exam is strict. I cannot use my magic against him?!
Damn it!
The kid Jester began running at Luis, his eyes turning a strange crimson. He suddenly appeared in front of Luis as Luis tried to jump back.
Jester kicked some of the mud into the air. As Luis covered his eyes, Jester suddenly appeared right beside him at high speed and tried to flip him using his leg.
But Luis jumped back, catching hold of a tree root, and stood above it.
In that moment, Luis realized that talking to a kid like this would not get him very far.
So he needed to pique his interest.
"How about this, little one. Let's make this an ideology, a philosophy. A battle of laws, and whoever wins gets to apply their laws to the other.
Isn't that a good suggestion?"
"Good." Jester sheathed his knife and put his hands in his pockets.
"This mighty Jester has accepted this femboy's challenge."
"I am not a femboy. I am a real man," Luis shouted at the kid who was enraging him.
"Yeah, my ass. I should believe a young blond haired guy with blue eyes and feminine features, packing a three inch cucumber, is a real man."
"If that's true, then I am the greatest Celestial Supreme Clown."
"Anyway, let's start the challenge.
I will make it two random tests.
But before we start, swear on your life that you will not interfere with my way of making the tests."
"Ok, I swear," Luis muttered, his face carrying a cold stare.
"Good.
And I swear I won't kill you or try to use any weapon on you until the two exams are finished.
Let's start my exam.
But let me remind you that a lamb once entered the cave of a wolf, trying to convince him to become a vegetarian."
"Oh, you think yourself a wolf or something."
"What if what entered the cave wasn't a lamb, but a strong eagle?"
"Then he would be killed, because a wolf does not live alone.
They hunt in packs."
Jester slowly reached his destination, arriving at a butcher named Amrian.
He tapped five times, and Amrian shouted to one of his coworkers to bring Jester his daily order.
"Add to mine some cooked ribs. Make it for one person," Jester added.
After three minutes of waiting, a man with two heads appeared, carrying the order.
He set it down in front of Jester.
As the kid Jester took the order, he spoke suddenly.
"You changed the workers. You got two for half the price.
Do you give him half the salary too?"
A sudden outburst of laughter erupted from everyone. Even Luis pressed his teeth into his lips, trying not to laugh at the man with two heads, who was nearly in tears.
Amrian suddenly snapped at Jester, "Don't bully him."
"Oh, Mr. kind Amrian has suddenly become a noble and kind person.
Stop with the act.
Anyway, I am leaving."
Jester handed the cooked food to Luis and carried the uncooked portion himself.
"Here is your food, so you can't complain when
I test you, since you haven't eaten yet."
"Why the sudden kindness?" Luis spoke as he took the cooked food, curious what this devil was up to with this sudden display of kindness.
