Chapter 247: Rhain’s Wrath

Seeing that incredibly serene, harmless smile on Rhain’s handsome face, and hearing the applause, Lucius’s amber eyes lit up with profound satisfaction.

He let out a magnanimous, triumphant laugh.

"A wise decision, Rhain!" Lucius beamed, completely misinterpreting Rhain’s reaction as submission. "I knew a man of your caliber would possess the foresight to recognize true destiny when it is presented to him."

Lucius reached out, extending his hand to formally seal the deal that would secure him the greatest prodigy and the most perfect cauldron in the dynasty.

"Welcome to the Royal Court, my future Grand Chancel—"

The voice abruptly stopped.

Swoosh—!

An impossibly faint, almost imperceptible breeze brushed past the space between them.

It was so quiet, so perfectly integrated into the natural flow of the world, that it didn’t even stir Lucius’s hairs on his head.

Thud.

A heavy sound echoed in the quiet study.

Lucius’s extended hand remained frozen in the air, but his head had abruptly tumbled off his neck, dropping heavily onto the polished wooden floor.

The perfectly handsome head tumbled through the air, hitting the ground with a dull sound, rolling a few inches before coming to a complete stop near Rhain’s boots.

Rhain remained seated, his hands resting casually on his lap.

He hadn’t even moved a finger an inch.

The harmless, serene smile that had graced his face slowly faded, completely vanishing into the cold air of the private study.

He looked down at the severed head at his feet, his dark grey eyes turning as chilling and emotionless as the deepest, darkest abyss.

In truth, Rhain had been calculating this move the moment Lucius mentioned Seris.

He knew perfectly well that as the Crown Prince of the Solathane Dynasty, Lucius would undoubtedly possess a mountain of life-saving trump cards—passive shields, instantaneous teleportation talismans, or even a soul-bound projection of the Emperor himself.

A direct, physical strike would have instantly triggered a dozen defensive mechanisms, making it nearly impossible to kill him in one blow and potentially endangering his own life in the ensuing battle.

So, he had opted for a silent execution.

Channeling his Heaven-Grade Boundless Sky Wind to the extreme, Rhain had compressed the air currents in the study into invisible blades sharp enough to cut through a cultivator’s defense.

He simply commanded the wind to cleanly sever the Crown Prince’s head off his body.

He hadn’t been entirely sure whether the invisible wind could truly kill a late-stage Core Formation Realm expert—especially the Crown Prince—without him even sensing it.

But unexpectedly, it had worked.

Lucius died just like that, as easily as a mortal pig in a slaughterhouse.

However, just as a flicker of surprise crossed Rhain’s mind...

"He... hehe... Hahahaha!"

The severed head lying on the floor suddenly began to laugh.

The dead muscles twitched unnaturally, and the lifeless amber eyes snapped open, locking directly onto Rhain.

A distorted, unsightly smile stretched across Lucius’s decapitated face.

"Hahahaha! So you chose the path to hell, Rhain Voss," the severed head mocked, its voice carrying an eerie frequency that didn’t sound human at all.

The head continued to laugh, its gaze filled with venomous malice.

"Did you really think it would be that easy to kill me? You arrogant fool... This was merely a clone. You made the worst, and last mistake of your life today. I will soon kill you. I will tear your limbs apart one by one, and force you to watch as I finally get Seris!"

The twisted smile grew wider, thoroughly relishing the vile threat, "And then... I will get Seris. I will chain her beautiful body to my bed. I will tear her apart, break her mind, and play with her every single day. I will make her scream beneath me every single day and night...I will make sure she—"

The words struck Rhain’s heart like a poisoned dagger.

His face twisted into an unrestrained, horrifying fury, and his dark grey eyes instantly turned a red like blood.

Flash!

With a burst of spatial light, a massive, pitch-black hammer materialized in Rhain’s right hand.

It was a peak Epic-Grade weapon.

He raised the heavy hammer high above his head and violently smashed it down onto the severed head.

"... Hahahaha..."

BANG!

The brutal impact instantly stopped Lucius’s mocking laugh.

"If hell is the only way to you..." Rhain vowed, his voice sounding like a demon crawling out of the deepest purgatory.

He raised the hammer again.

BANG—!!!

"...then I will walk through hell..."

BANG—!!!

"...and find you..."

BANG—!!!

"...and make you suffer so much..."

BANG—!!!

"...that neither life..."

BANG—!!!

"...nor death will dare to claim you!"

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Rhain kept smashing the hammer down again and again like a madman, each strike carrying his full, explosive, enraged force.

The impacts were so outrageously powerful that the severed head was entirely pulverized, turning into a gruesome, unrecognizable bloody paste.

Even the indestructible, array-reinforced ground beneath the head completely caved in, spider-webbing with massive cracks that threatened to sink the entire private study.

The splash of gore and blood sprayed wildly, heavily staining Rhain’s pristine white robes and his handsome face.

He could have easily used his essence to block the filth from touching him.

But he didn’t.

Because only the warm blood of this filth could even begin to calm the raging hatred and fury burning within his heart.

------------------

Meanwhile, thousands of miles away.

Inside an incredibly luxurious, beautiful, and fragrant bedchamber, decorated with the intoxicating scent of rose pearls scattered across the bed.

"My lord... ahh... please slow down... I can’t take it..."

A beautiful woman lay on the expansive silk bed, her body slick with sweat, continuously moaning and begging for mercy.

Above her, a man was thrusting in and out with a savage, unrelenting force.

His handsome features, framed by dark hair and glowing amber eyes, would be instantly recognized by anyone in the dynasty as Crown Prince Lucius.

But suddenly, the savage thrusting stopped.

Lucius’s body went completely rigid, and he abruptly sat up on the edge of the bed.

His handsome face, which had just been flushed with lust, had now an extremely ugly, gloomy expression.

The beautiful woman on the bed blinked in confusion.

She hurriedly pulled the silk sheets over her bare chest and sat up beside him, her eyes filled with trepidation.

"My lord? Did... did I do something wrong to displease you?" she asked in a trembling voice.

Lucius took a measured breath, staring blankly at the wall.

"Someone killed my clone," Lucius spoke, his voice chillingly calm.

The woman’s eyes widened in shock.

She gasped, quickly covering her rosy lips with one hand.

Someone dared to kill Crown Prince’s clone, which means... someone dared to kill Crown Prince.

"What???" She shrieked, "Who... who dares to kill the Crown Prince in this dynasty? Are they tired of living?"

Lucius turned his head slowly to look at the beautiful woman.

There was no anger in his eyes, just a serene smile as if everything was under his control.

He reached out, his long fingers softly stroking her cheek.

"Selina," Lucius murmured, his thumb brushing against her lower lip, "There are a few maddened dogs in this world that dare to bite anyone."

He turned his head, and a gleaming golden transmission talisman materialized in his palm.

It was a Mystic grade artifact, linked directly to the three Domain Master Realm powerhouses he had sent to Stormveil City.

He channeled a thread of his essence into the golden surface.

His voice was as cold as a burial vault.

"Put him down."
