Signing-In: The Lazy Moon Goddess

Chapter 941: Wu Yao wakes up

Wu Yao after suffering from the backlash of both the poison and the Life Gu in his body had erupted. In his slumber, he had been experiencing a world of crimson blood sea. Endless sea of blood and that nonstop whispering in his mind as if something was trying to take over his soul and then another voice, cute and adorable, yet so young. But this is the voice that had accompanied him in this mad crimson world trying to turn him into something he didn’t want to.

Just one day, the little one’s voice suddenly sounded sleepy and said, "Master, someone who can save us has finally arrived! I can finally go to sleep. Master will be safe now."

"Little one, wait! What do you mean someone came to save us!?" Wu Yao reached out his hand trying to stop the owner of the adorable baby’s words.

But his surroundings as if something had broken through the domain he is right now, fragmenting the whole place like a glass. The next moment Wu Yao’s line of sight had blurred and the crimson realm was replaced with something bright and white. It took awhile for his sight to return to normal only to realize that he had woken up in reality. In the room, where he had been bedridden for years. He wanted to move around trying to force himself to throw something on the ground but didn’t realize that his sickly self is no longer the same as before.

After all, the Moon Goddess had not only removed the poison in his body, stopping the backlash from his Life Gu but also used Sacred Healing to restore his body’s health to normal. When he had tried to reach out for something he had failed to control himself and destroyed the bed he was in.

Crash~

Before Wu Yao could react he had rolled down his broken bed to the carpeted floor and met the eyes of the puppet maids that were left in the room to watch after him in his sleep. The puppet maids’ dull eyes were looking at him innocently as if asking him ’Master, why are you rolling around on the ground?’.

The puppet maids helped him up to his feet and didn’t say a word. After all, they can only speak if their masters spoke to them or allowed them too. Wu Yao was stunned and confused at the same time. He doesn’t recognize these puppets but his younger brother would not let such things around him unless its owner was someone he can trust. Moreover, his younger brother prefers living servants rather than puppets like this. Only introverted cultivators who dislike stranger’s company would use such a thing.

After standing up, Wu Yao finally realized something was wrong with him. There is no pain, no weakness in his body and he felt completely refreshed. Then he looked at the bed he had broken himself which is now being cleaned and replaced by the puppet maids in the area. He hurriedly looked at the mirror and was surprised to see the version of himself that was completely healthy as if he wasn’t the man who had become skin and bones from being ill for years. He was still looking at his face that looked a few years younger than usual in amazement and disbelief.

"How is this... possible? This is what I look like before I get sick! No! Even younger!"

"What the hell is happening? Was the sickness before me only a dream?!"

Wu Yao started questioning reality when he started talking to himself. Other people would have treated him like a crazy man if they saw him acting like this. He is fortunate that there are only puppet maids in the area and the sleeping Life Gu that looked like a glass, chubby caterpillar hugging a longevity pill as if it was a pillow. It looks so cute and adorable. However, this beauty nap was disturbed by someone and when it opened its round black eyes, it was surprised to see that the madman shout was none other than his silly master.

{Ugh~ idiot master! Stop shouting! Adorable me is still sleeping!}

Wu Yao suddenly heard a familiar voice and looked around. There is no way he would mistake that baby voice from someone else. It was definitely his baby who had accompanied him in that craze, crimson nightmare he had been suffering for years.

"Baobao. Baobao! Where are you? Baobao, talk more. Tell the master where you are!" Wu Yao shouted while looking around for the person and didn’t even know that his baby was actually a sentient Life Gu.

{Silly Master, don’t shout. Baobao’s ears are ringing! Look down. Baoobao is on the side table. Eh? Master, did you get fat? How did you destroy your own bed?}

The chubby, glass caterpillar was now fully awake. Still hugging his longevity pill like a pillow, it stared at the broken bed in shock. It was at this moment that Wu Yao finally saw the source of the voice that had accompanied him in that nightmare. His only hope and only friend within that long suffering. Even though he had expected another human, Wu Yao also didn’t mind that it wasn’t. He crouched down and curled at the corner of the table staring straight at the cute caterpillar inside a round fish bowl decorated with a soft, cotton like mattress, a few pills scattered inside and a few gems that matched the rainbow shade of the glass like caterpillar lying inside.

"Baobao?" Wu Yao softly called with a questioning tone.

{Master, why do you look like you don’t recognize Baobao? Do you not like Baobao?}

The little glass caterpillar inside the fish bowl looked at Wu Yao like it was about to cry. Upon seeing this, Wu Yao panicked. This is the first time he had seen a talking insect, much less one that looked adorable like a baby.

"No! I like it. The master definitely loves Baobao!" Wu Yao said.

This is the scene where the Moon Goddess is welcomed the moment she enters the room. She witnessed her master coaxing his own Life Gu which he might accidentally made to cry. She then looked around the room, especially at the broken bed not far away from the two who didn’t even notice her arrival.

"Master, even if you are awake there is no need for you to destroy your own bed," said Yue Xuexia.

The moment her voice spreads in the room the master and glass caterpillar turned their heads to look at the Goddess of the Moon.

{Fairy Sister, are you going to give Baobao more jelly beans!?}

"Xue’er? Are you Xue’er?!" Wu Yao immediately recognized his only disciple.

The Moon Goddess didn’t wear her veil or her disguise in front of this master of her making it easy for the old man to recognize her. He immediately stood up and hugged his disciple. He never expected that he would be able to see her in this life especially after falling sick a few years ago. At that time, he knew that his life was running out, and his only regret is failing to wait for his disciple to return. The resources in his hand being stolen, he doesn’t care. His position being passed to his younger brother was his last way out. He had never expected that he would survive.

{Master, Fairy Sister is your disciple? No wonder she saved both of us! This is great! I have a sister this powerful! Now that red thing will no longer bully me and master!}

Wu Yao and Yue Xuexia heard the little one say something about a red thing. Both of them had an understanding of what that is yet their comprehension is completely different. Wu Yao only knows that this red thing the little one is talking about was the monster that appeared in his nightmare. He didn’t even know now if that was simply a nightmare or something else. As for the Moon Goddess, she knew that this red thing mentioned was something definitely connected to the Blood Sea where her master’s poison came about.

The Goddess of the Moon approached the glass caterpillar and smiled at it. She had always been kind hearted at people she considered as one of hers.

She said, "Little one, don’t worry about that red thing. Sister will definitely protect you from it. Do you want more sweets? I still have some here. Eat more~."

Yue Xuexia placed two more longevity inside the fish ball for the Life Gu to absorb. Now that it was no longer inside her master’s body to keep it alive it must keep eating things that are capable of extending life. Whether it was herbs or pills, this life guy can absorb it to survive. As for merging with her master again, that can wait after things are finished.

{Thank you, Pretty Sister. Baobao loves these sweets the most!}

On the other hand, Wu Yao’s eyes were wide open. He didn’t notice it before because he was so worried about the little one. Now looking at it closely. He couldn’t believe what he was looking at. That’s a longevity pill. Even in the immortal world that is treasure that can cause wars, but in this room this cute, little glass caterpillar was treating it as a candy and these pills were given by his disciple. He was dumbfounded and speechless in shock.
