Chapter 923: Meeting Elder Kun
The moment the words ’World Tree’ was mentioned everyone’s walking had halted including the two big shots in front, the Moon Goddess and the Immortal Sun Emperor. Well the reason for them to stop isn’t because of the words World Tree instead they were startled by the loud voice of the Grand Elder from the Pill Tower. Such an octave voice echoing in the whole hallway, no one can ignore it.
Grand Elder Su Kan upon seeing the gaze that had fallen on himself, made him shiver. After all, even the Divine Doctress and that Sword Cultivator with extremely dangerous aura were now staring at him. As for the Pill Tower Master and Grand Elder Li, they looked completely helpless. They should have known how unpredictable their youngest brother is. They can only smooth through the conversation pretending Grand Elder Su Kan is speaking nonsense.
However, before they could do so the Immortal Sun Emperor had spoken.
Shen Jueyang said, "Oh not bad. You’ve noticed. But such a thing is useless to you. So don’t ask for a piece for decoration."
After saying his piece, he went towards Yue Xuexia and stood by her side and they resumed their walking.
Yue Xuexia said to the three elders, "You can let the disciples and other elders wait at the alchemy hall. I need to visit the warehouse for a bit."
The Moon Goddess actually wanted to get the legacy left behind by the late divine doctor. After saying her piece, she walks towards the warehouse which is located at the end of the corridor they are in. Once the pair had disappeared, the three elders commanded that rest to prepare the alchemy hall for them and immediately chased after the Divine Doctress and the Immortal Sun Emperor. By the time they had reached the entrance of the warehouse, the blind old man who is usually just sleeping at the side of the door was now standing, lowering his head before the Moon Goddess and the Immortal Sun Emperor.
"This servant is called Kun. This little one greets the Goddess of the Moon and the Immortal Sun Emperor!"
This is what Pill Tower Master Han Siyu, Grand Elder Li Houye and Grand Elder Su Kan had heard and witnessed upon arriving in the area. They already had guesses in their hearts only when it was directly thrown to their faces the reality they can only imagine in their hearts that they were rendered speechless.
The Moon Goddess remained expressionless and calm while the Immortal Sun Emperor frowned a bit and realized that this man truly knows who they are and is not fishing for their identities. He didn’t understand why they were exposed and thought that maybe this old man was a spy from one of his enemies. He was about to make a move but abruptly stopped when Yue Xuexia grabbed his hand to halt his actions. She only needs to stare at him for a few seconds and Shen Jueyang wouldn’t make moves that she doesn’t agree with. Moreover, holding her hand was a better bargain for Shen Jueyang than not holding his temper.
The Immortal Sun Emperor asks, "How did you know who we are?"
"Answering to the emperor, it was all thanks to the jade tokens your majesty’s disciple had with him. Last night, this servant had the honor to meet your majesty’s disciple," the blind old man said.
Upon hearing this, Shen Jueyang had calmed down. Tan Shengyu was indeed wearing their jade token but that isn’t something people would simply recognize unless one is from the Core Haven.
Shen Jueyang asked, "You are from the Core Region?"
"This one is an expelled disciple from the Alchemy Association. When I was dying and crippled the late Divine Doctor had picked me up and saved me. The Master said to protect his legacy until the new Divine Doctor is chosen. This Pill Tower was created only for the Divine Doctor and their future successors," said the blind old man.
The Immortal Sun Emperor said, "Alchemy Association. The one owned by the Yun clan?"
"50 years ago, the Alchemy Association was not under the name of the Yun Clan but was created by my master, the former Divine Doctor. That was... Master’s original home. The Pill Tower was made by me under his orders," said the blind old man.
Yue Xuexia observed the old man in front of her and walked towards him. After stopping a meter away from him, she finally said, "You are not a human and you are about to die."
The moment these words were spoken everyone in the area were startled including the blind old man. Unexpectedly, Senior Kun just smiled at the Moon Goddess.
"It was this servant, Kun’s honor to see the successor before the old man’s life is gone," said the blind old man.
The Goddess of the Moon asked, "What is your wish? This Empress shall fulfill it for you."
"If by chance, the Doctress saw the later Divine Doctor, my master’s remains please bury this servant together with him. This servant had been separated from the master ever since he ordered this servant to create the Pill Tower. Since the Pill Tower had gotten its new owner, this servant’s mission is now complete. I miss my master so much. I wish to be buried with him so that in our next life I can be with him again."
Under everyone’s eyes, the supposed to be blind old man suddenly turned into a drying ginseng which almost looked like twigs. It had countless scratches on its body that looked like countless cuts.
Grand Elder Su Kan and the rest were startled. They had never expected that the blind elder who had been secretly protecting the Pill Tower was a sentient, old and dying ginseng spirit. They were shocked and accepting at the same time. Usually, divine doctors are attracted to plant spirits. Like how the Moo Goddess loves gathering Flower Lotus spirits as her children.
Yue Xuexia pulled a silk handkerchief and covered the dried ginseng with it carefully and a simple yet secure small box to be used as a temporary coffin for the dead ginseng spirit.
The Goddess of the Moon whispered, "Your wish... I will find a way to complete it. For now, sleep. You’ve done a good job." She had held the box in her hands carefully and looked at the door of the warehouse.
Normally only had to push the door open to enter, that’s the normal way to enter the warehouse. But the legacy of the Divine Doctor cannot be awakened in such a way. She brought out the Jade token in which she had gotten from the system after learning everything the Divine Doctor should have. She placed the token in the empty space at the side of the door which was usually hidden by the figure of the blind old man.
The moment the token had been placed, the hidden formation on the door had been activated and the whole Pill Tower had shook. The building that looks like an ancient one with floors and all had disappeared. Instead, It was replaced with a huge tree whose branches replaced the floors and leaves replaced the doors. It was a living tree whose branches served as floors and rooms. Its leaves as doors and its flowers as lighting. The reason this tree had lived until now is because the old ginseng spirit had been using its essence to keep it alive.
It was hidden under the formation that hid its true appearance. This tree is known as the tree of knowledge. It is a sentient Ghost Gum Tree which is at least 200 years old. However, in the Immortal World, this age for trees can only be considered as a sapling.

A young man’s voice echoes in the whole Pill Tower or can now be called the Alchemy Tree Tower. Then a young boy who looks like he is only ten years old materialized before the Moon Goddess wearing only leaves on his body. Yue Xuexia’s eyes soften upon seeing the child. She pulled out some extra clothes she made for her flower spirit children and changed the child’s clothes. Now the leaves were replaced by cute white green ancient clothing, the little boy was delighted when he finally had clothing he could wear.
"I am your new owner. My name is Yue Xuexia and your name shall be Yue Guishu," The Goddess of the Moon said.
The young boy repeated his name and was delighted that someone had finally named him. The old man who had grabbed him when he was only a seed didn’t give him a name and didn’t contract with him saying that he didn’t have much time to live.

The Goddess of the Moon smiled and pats his head gently, "If that’s what you wanted then that I shall become."
