"Ooh, that's amazing. It's getting dark, Kyle."

"Ho, I'm really out of sunlight... It's not even night yet...... This is what happens."

"Yeah, the world is full of strange things. Either the moon here is a little big, or no, it's a matter of distance? The sun is completely hidden."

"What's wrong, Brother Ars?

"No, it's not weird, but I was wondering in me if the sunlight hidden in the moon would leak out and look like a circle. But the sun is completely hidden, so I'm just a little surprised it wasn't what I was thinking."

"Hey, what is it? So, you don't have a problem. Don't surprise me anymore.... Oh, good, you're getting a little brighter"

"That's true. Is this the time for the sun to hide? Well, I think it's gonna be dim for a while now."

The two astronomical phenomena that Kiri anticipated both eclipsed and occurred before appeared in the sky on a calculated date.

Other calendars didn't predict that much, or deviate for days. Yet many didn't seem to mention the brightness of the stars.

In addition, Kiri had also mathematically recalculated various calendars with [automatic arithmetic], which had been named and made available by Kyle.

The result apparently came to the conclusion that Kiri's said ancient calendar is the best.

At least, if we are able to calculate the operation of the stars on a century-to-millennial basis, there is no doubt that we will endure pragmatism.

I've decided to introduce a new calendar.

In the meantime, why don't we even make a calendar?

Make sure to display the year separated by month and day so that the full moon is also marked together for ease of use on a daily basis.

That would also eliminate the inadvertent idea of what month that day was because we could use the full moon, the third moon, or the new moon as a guide.

Then let's make a clock that can accurately display the time based on that calendar.

With that, at least we should be able to share something called time in Fontana territory.

Shall we give the calendar a new name at last?

Even though it was used a long time ago, that calendar has been left on the other side of history and is now largely forgotten.

How about we decide that we've rediscovered something new this time rather than brought it up old?

It is, for one thing, in the magic of Kyle's having [automatic computation] that he succeeded in rediscovering a calendar that seemed to leave little material either.

I wouldn't have even been able to calculate enough in just a few years for Kiri to get certainty without that.

"All right, shall we name Kiri's proposed new calendar the Garrod calendar?"

"The Garrod calendar. You'd be surprised if Lord Garrod grew up and found out his name was used in the calendar."

"Pretty good idea, huh? Then it's settled."

Almost thought of it in my mind, but I decided to make Garrod's name my calendar.

I'm sure Garrod would be happy when he grows up, too, if his name were on the calendar.

Considering that I used Carlos, my predecessor, in the name of booze to Yoisho, I don't even feel like there's a pretty big difference in treatment, but okay.

When Garrod grows big in the future, I also feel like it's an excuse that I wasn't taking Garrod lightly.

And it was when I was thinking that much.

"Hmm..., what?

"Oh, wow, oh, brother Ars, he's shaking. The building is shaking!?

"... no, no. The building isn't shaking. The ground is shaking. It's an earthquake. Kyle, stay close to what's on your head."

Our feet swayed tremendously as we all watched the eclipse on the terrace of the former castle of Carlos in the city of Fontana.

I had no idea.

But this is an earthquake.

Instead of the building, the desk, etc. that was in the room because the ground was shaky, has moved a lot.

And soon after the first glassy shake, another shake happened.

It's a big shake like a dong thrust up from the bottom.

Is it a direct-down earthquake?

"Come on, seriously. You're too poor."

Me protecting Kyle while I grabbed him by the railing on the terrace for a while.

It felt like "that was a pretty big shake" in me.

But that just seemed like my personal feeling.

Kyle, who was by my side, is clattering and shivering in a hug to my body.

That would be so.

I don't recall this earthquake when Kyle was born.

No, that's not all.

Perhaps even your father and Mr. Maddock, who is older than that, don't know that there was an earthquake?

Because it was originally a place around here where I had never even heard of an earthquake.

And that also meant something else.

Land where earthquakes don't happen much originally.

In addition, most of the buildings built on such land are brick houses.

You wouldn't think much about seismic resistance, buildings like flat loaded bricks are vulnerable to earthquakes.

I was made to look different with these eyes.

It was with this eye that we were to witness the collapse of a number of buildings in the city, visible from the terrace of the castle in Fontana.
