"The coalition was a U.N. crowd."
"Good job, Master Ars. This defense was brilliant."
"No, the self-destruct of the opponent will be the firmest thing. [Tornado], the top magic of the Memento family, was a mess, but it turned out to work out. But I think you're lucky you won, too, Lion."
"Sure, that superior magic was very troublesome. Plus, each of the other aristocratic magic was a formidable enemy. but I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad opponent in front of the Ars defensive net."
"Well, I think to myself it worked pretty well. Carmus' defensive wall and transfer stone linkage undoubtedly worked against a large army opponent. I made something nice."
The Doren royal family has issued royal orders to send crusaders against Fontana.
There were actually more than 250,000 of those crusaders who came as coalitions with different nobles out of the army.
That's just too bad a minute to deal with that many.
This one has a maximum troop strength of 40,000, but it wasn't just the eastern route the coalition was coming from, it needed to be ready for the west.
It essentially meant that we needed to deal with 250,000 in just over 20,000 numbers.
There is no winning in a decent fight.
So what I chose was a defense battle.
It would be best if we went out here and set up a match against the coalition and won, but if that's not possible, we'll have to defend ourselves.
Normally, this defense would not be a good way to fight.
Anyway, there will be no reinforcements against Fontana for independence as a kingdom.
Consolidating protection without reinforcements will eventually end in crushing.
but there was the only point for such a fontana to find a winning chance.
That has to do with the position of the Kingdom of Fontana.
Fontana is the northernmost land surrounded by woods behind it.
To the east is the Urk district bordering the Great Snow Mountains, and to the west is the Arborest district with wetlands.
In other words, you can only keep an eye on the south when you consolidate your defense.
Anyway, you don't have to worry about the attack from there because you're surrounded by nature behind you.
And we decided to further reinforce that only advantage.
They built a wall on old Carmus territory a little further south than they did when they confronted the Memento army.
That's not just a wall either.
Long and long connections to the sides created defensive walls that were equivalent to things like the Great Wall of Miles and the Great Wall of Hadrianus.
This was a kind of bet.
What would happen if we built a wall for defense, but it was attacked at the point where it was about to be made?
Perhaps the other side will break through their defenses and vice versa, using their walls by coalition forces to expose them to further attacks.
In that case, no matter how hard you try, there will be no winning element.
But I won the bet.
It succeeded in creating a Great Wall called the "Carmas Defensive Wall" on old Carmas territory, from which it blocked the path leading to Fontana.
but no matter how much there was the magic of Barca's [wall architecture], it was tough in time.
I believe that this succeeded, for one thing, because of the failure of the Doren royal family to prioritize Fuko.
The Doren royal family issued a royal decree to prepare a coalition for the Fontana crusade.
but hit badly there.
Or maybe that was the way it used to be, but the royal family called the coalition to the king's capital once before sending it to Fontana.
Even though Wang Du and Fontana are geographically distant.
Large armies are moving at a slow pace.
Once we gathered our troops, we all walked north, and it took months since the royal fate was issued before we actually came to the Fontana border.
Had it not been for this, the outcome of the battle against the coalition might have been something different.
That temporal respite saved Fontana from me.
Carmus' defensive wall was completed at critical intervals.
[Wall architecture], which is basically 10 meters high, was used to create physical walls on the border.
And its walls make surveillance towers and fortifications at equal intervals to keep an eye on the border.
I have a Reed family person in each of them, so if I have any discoveries, I can deal with them as soon as possible because they will be contacted in [Reading].
but more useful than that was the transfer stone.
In a few fortifications on Carmus' defensive wall, I was building a transfer stone so that each fort could be moved in an instant if it were of the main class.
Coming over time, the coalition has launched an attack on a fort that has been targeted, but when it sees it, those in power at the main level can quickly head to the rescue.
It wasn't just that, it was also so that those in charge could move from fort to fort under attack in an instant to reinforcement from that other fort.
What I've experienced so far is that the top magic used by the main class is basically attack-specific.
Therefore, he did not have to be at the main level to take command of the guard in the fort, and he dared to prepare the main level for the guerrillas attacking the side of the siege from the outside.
I thought from the opponent's point of view that one day there would be a leading rank in the fort I was attacking, and on another day I would have felt like there was a leading rank in the army that was going to play.
Perhaps he was under the illusion that he was dealing with more principals than the actual number here.
And it was the bombing of the pantry by the airship that ultimately became the deciding factor.
Actually, this wasn't my operation.
As far as I'm concerned, I thought it would never pass because it was a method of warfare I showed the Memento Army once.
But Kyle advised me.
He said we should use the airship.
Kyle saw the Allied movement from the fort under attack and said he thought:
The other coalition doesn't seem to be working well with each other.
And that was true.
The coalition, made up of a number of noble armies, had been decided that the purpose was the crusade of Fontana and that it was the Memento army that was under its overall command.
but they didn't share so much information that they wore it slightly.
In other words, the entire coalition wasn't sharing information about the airship attacks previously suffered by the Memento Army.
In fact, the Memento army had taken measures to make the pantry less likely to be burned, but many noble armies never seemed to think that food would be burned from the sky.
I checked with binoculars and the like, but I didn't feel alarmed at all.
To that end, I accepted Kyle's advance and decided to attack the Allied forces with exactly the same methods of warfare.
And that was a brilliant success.
I use my ice flame sword from the sky to shoot off the burning ice and burn the food.
Only then did the coalition virtually cease to function.
It wasn't exactly an immediate retreat, but then some time later the coalition left when it was no longer able to secure food to cover the great army.
Of course, you can't miss such a delicious opportunity.
If we rode the Valkyrie at night and carried out the night raid, as usual, the coalition would have fought back in the dark night and the attack would have struck other noble armies that were allies.
As a result, we seem to have lost a lot of soldiers fighting each other.
Thus, the Kingdom of Fontana succeeded in showcasing its power by brilliantly bouncing back the Doren-led crusaders opposed to independence.
but it was only by this battle that the situation was set to start to move even more dramatically in this area.
