"Evelyn Morgan." Caden Lockwood barely restrained the urge to strangle her, "I’m asking about you now! Are you clean or not?"
"Whether I’m clean or not, it doesn’t matter if you ask," Evelyn Morgan said coldly, "No matter what my answer is, if you don’t believe it, it means nothing."
After a pause, Evelyn Morgan took a deep breath, stepping back before continuing: "I have now realized that you and I are really incompatible; I can’t accept your way of handling things, and you can’t accept mine."
