Listening to Caden Lockwood’s words, Evelyn Morgan’s legs gave out, she couldn’t even stand.

Not... was the diary not sent by Cecilia Lynch?

"Then what can I do?" Evelyn couldn’t help but shout, "Cece is my most important friend, she’s willing to risk her life for me. Now, if I step aside, she can be happy, what right do I have to refuse?"

"This is not a multiple-choice question you’re facing!" Caden Lockwood raised his voice too, "You can rely on me, you can let me help solve it! Julian Keaton would solve it too! Why should you two women worry?"

"But..."

"No buts!" Caden Lockwood directly interrupted Evelyn’s words, "If you keep arguing, I’ll throw you into the car! Do you think after finding you, I’d let you disappear again?"

"Shut up!" Caden Lockwood shouted angrily.

He didn’t want Evelyn to know how miserable his condition was.

"Go away!" Evelyn hurriedly said, "I’m not leaving you because of Cecilia Lynch and Julian Keaton’s happiness; the diary was just an excuse Cecilia made up to help me cover up!"

Seeing Caden’s unbelieving eyes, Evelyn hesitated for a moment, then continued to shout, "I just love Logan Shaw, like it’s written in the diary. For someone who loves another, there’s no need for you to waste your time!"

"So why is it that every time it comes to something about Logan Shaw, I can’t reason myself to trust you?" Caden Lockwood spoke each word deliberately, "Because you can easily say you like him, love him, yet you’ve never said such words to me."
