Chapter 577: Want to Take a Marriage Photo with Caden
Cecilia Lynch looked up and met Evelyn’s gaze, pausing for a moment, then waved at her.
Evelyn’s eyes lit up; at that moment, she was even more excited than when Caden returned.
She immediately ran downstairs, opened the villa’s door, and dashed out, joyfully shouting, "Cece, what brings you here?"
Although the two hadn’t seen each other every day before, they definitely kept in touch via phone and WeChat.
Now, it had been several days without contact, and Cecilia felt a bit awkward.
Especially thinking about what she’d said to Evelyn, Cecilia’s guilt deepened.
"I’m here to apologize to you," Cecilia spoke softly, "That day at the hospital, I was too emotional and said things to you that I shouldn’t have. Evelyn, I’m sorry. I clearly knew you’d keep my secret and couldn’t be the one who leaked it, but I still..."
"I don’t blame you, it was indeed my fault!" Evelyn hurriedly interrupted Cecilia, "I know your secret, so no matter what, I must protect it. Even if it was guessed, it was still my fault!"
"No, it’s not!" Cecilia raised her voice, "I..."
"And besides, the things you said back then, you just wanted to drive me away so I wouldn’t worry about your problems, right?" Evelyn’s eyes curved into a crescent with her smile, "Cece, if you specifically came to apologize, then all those years of our friendship would mean nothing!"
Looking at Evelyn, Cecilia felt an endless sense of emotion.
She always felt life treated her unfairly, but actually, it was quite kind to her!
Life gave her a mother who’d dedicate her life to her, a best friend who selflessly helped her, and a man who loved her deeply.
Having so much already, how could she say life wasn’t good?
Evelyn took Cecilia’s hand and led her into the villa, talking as they walked, "Perfect! Stay for dinner! Where’s Julian? Didn’t he come? Cece, I have so much to tell you!"
"Julian has some things to handle," Cecilia said softly, "My mom’s health has improved a bit, so I came to see you."
Evelyn’s smile grew even brighter, and she pulled Cecilia up to the top floor to sit, and they chatted as if nothing had happened, just like before.
Hearing Cecilia talk about the recent sweetness with Julian, Evelyn was full of envy.
"That’s great!" Evelyn’s eyes sparkled, "You and Julian are taking wedding photos and choosing honeymoon destinations; the whole wedding process is so wonderful! Unlike Caden and me, even our marriage certificate photo is... Photoshopped."
"Aren’t you planning to have a wedding ceremony?" Cecilia asked.
"He doesn’t seem to have that notion," Evelyn shrugged, "You know how he is! Arrogant and aloof, he never pays attention to formalities. He even skips banquets if he can, so how would he agree to have a wedding ceremony?"
"Actually, those things are just tiring and not very meaningful," Cecilia consoled, "Evelyn, living a stable and secure life is the most blissful."
"But you can’t help expecting it!" Evelyn laughed, "I don’t really mind, though! Caden doesn’t even like taking pictures; asking him to do a wedding photoshoot, I bet no photographer would dare! Just thinking of his icy face scares me! Hahaha—"
Though Evelyn complained, Cecilia could hear that she was very happy at this moment.
