Chapter 2205 - 2202: Journey to the Demon Domain
"You scoundrel."
Senior Luoo shouted angrily.
"We, the old folks, have all said that if the sky falls, it will be us who hold it up."
"When did it become your turn..."
Xiao Yi interrupted coldly, "What if you can’t hold it up?"
"That’s a joke." Senior Luoo sneered, "If we can’t hold it up, what could you, a greenhorn, possibly change?"
"Just doing my best." Xiao Yi lowered his head slightly, a faint, inexplicable smile briefly gracing his lips.
It appeared quickly, vanished even quicker.
Anger subtly flickered across Senior Luoo’s face.
He knew that despite Xiao Yi’s words about not being able to change anything, this young man was essentially pushing him to change something.
Moreover, he realized this young man was incredibly stubborn. Once he decided something, nobody could change it.
No, it should be said that while someone might change it, he, as an old man, was not among them.
And this person had, in fact, already altered this young man’s decisions, shaken the young man’s determination.
This person had once helped Xiao Yi suppress a killing intent even he could hardly restrain and thus was likely able to alter his current decision.
"Well, very well, oh Xiao Yi." Senior Luoo left the table once again.
"As for debating, I can’t beat you."
"You’re even more stubborn than I imagined."
"You say you want to spend these remaining times accompanying your maid."
"But..." Senior Luoo paused, chuckled lightly, "Why can’t this time be extended infinitely?"
"You may have more than just half a year left."
"Perhaps time is not limited for anyone."
Xiao Yi smiled lightly, "Senior Luoo suggests calmly surviving this current disaster."
"But, what comes after, who can really say?"
"Even the Holy Moon Sect, such a gigantic establishment, needs to find an escape route in advance and ally with the Hidden Hundred Families to resist."
"Who can confidently claim to be prepared for this day of upheaval?"
"Rather than pinning hopes on the uncertain future, I’d rather do what I want now."
"At least, I can strive my utmost."
Senior Luoo shook his head, "What if I told you there’s indeed confidence?"
"I offer you another choice. Your maid can return to the Holy Moon Sect; she’d be safer there."
"Following you wastes her time, it also disrupts her Martial Arts Dao."
Xiao Yi frowned.
Senior Luoo chuckled softly, "I mentioned earlier that I wanted you to seek out the answer yourself."
"Now, I’ve chosen to tell you."
"Back then, the one who took the second reward from the Ancient Emperor’s Tomb was no one else—your maid’s master, the current Saint Lord."
"That dossier is of no use to the Saint Lord; yet, she prepared it for her Holy Moon Sect, reserving it for whom she considers the most suitable person."
"And that person is your maid, Yiyi."
Xiao Yi squinted, "Senior Luoo’s meaning is..."
Senior Luoo spoke softly, "As the Saint Lord said, if your maid can grow, her potential is limitless."
"Now I am also telling you, your maid possesses limitless possibilities."
Xiao Yi squinted, "What do you mean by limitless possibilities?"
Senior Luoo, arms behind his back, shook his head, "She can change everything."
"Even destiny."
Knock, knock...
Senior Luoo rapped on the table, "Even if she doesn’t have enough time to grow to that level."
"She still will have some power to protect herself when the sky falls."
"No matter how you calculate it, it’s better than following you around."
"Now, the decision is yours."
Xiao Yi squinted, frowning, "Senior Luoo, are you trying to trick me?"
"Would I even bother tricking you?" Senior Luoo chuckled.
"Perhaps." Xiao Yi said in a serious tone, "I can’t see through you; moreover, you’ve cooperated with the Saint Lord before—who knows if you’re playing me again."
"You damn scoundrel." Senior Luoo snapped, "Do you think I’m the type to play tricks?"
Being doubted by one’s successor feels quite unpleasant.
Xiao Yi stroked his chin, putting aside his suspicion, and said softly, "If Senior Luoo hasn’t lied to me, I can make a choice."
Senior Luoo, usually indifferent, suddenly showed a glimmer of cunning in his eyes.
"Alright, I promise, I haven’t lied to you."
"You can’t see through your maid now, but one day you will understand."
"Starting today, send her back to the Holy Moon Sect."
"Afterwards, you can head to the Demon Domain."
"The Demon Domain?" Xiao Yi furrowed his brow.
Sending Yiyi back to the Holy Moon Sect is no problem.
The woman wouldn’t dare harm Yiyi.
Moreover, with his current means, to take Yiyi away would be a matter of ease.
She could make a scene once at the Holy Moon Sect and could do so a second time; the woman wouldn’t have the guts to interfere again.
But, going to the Demon Domain?
Senior Luoo’s expression grew solemn, "I imagine you’ve seen it: Heaven and Earth Rules are increasingly disrupted, and demonic energy is skyrocketing."
"The real storm clouds are drifting in from the west, eventually covering the entire Central Region."
"This upheaval, the real trouble lies in the Demon Domain."
Xiao Yi nodded, "I know, even though I’ve been traveling for the past year and a half, I’ve observed changes in demon beasts."
"Where the troubles lie will surely relate to demon beasts."
"The source of the storm clouds happens to be in the western region."
"The west, is it where the rumored Demon Domain is located?"
"Correct." Senior Luoo nodded, "You’ve traversed the Central Region before but haven’t been to the west."
"Because it’s relatively weak, with fewer dangerous places, and the martial artist powers and influence are far inferior to other regions."
"There are numerous sects there as well, but they generally hold a weaker standard within the Central Region."
"What you don’t know is that beyond this vast region, at the western range’s end is where the Demon Domain is situated."
"Demon Domain?" Xiao Yi furrowed his brow.
It’s a place where even the Eight Palaces cannot intrude.
Someone once said, there’s Eight Palaces wherever there’s this continent.
More accurately, there are Eight Palaces where there are martial artists on this continent.
Senior Luoo continued, "Occupying the western range’s end is the Dongfang Family."
"For countless years, they have been opposing the Demon Domain."
"What’s my purpose in going there?" Xiao Yi asked.
"What do you think?" Senior Luoo glared at him, "This trouble source is in the Demon Domain."
"Though unclear exactly what it is, the Demon Clan lately is certainly planning a significant move."
"A great battle between human martial artists and demon clan is inevitable."
"You go there first, and dampen their spirits."
"Give them a show of dominance?" Xiao Yi widened his eyes in inquiry.
"Exactly." Senior Luoo nodded, "The day of upheaval is near; those old creatures of the Demon Domain won’t act rashly for a while."
"We don’t move; they won’t dare move."
"Other than us older folks, who else can suppress you, this little monster?"
"Your visit to the Demon Domain can be worry-free and serve as your new training."
