Chapter 656: Operation Prometheus IV

Na quietly moved to the auxiliary door. They had already cleared the storage room connected to the artillery bay. "We are in position." Na announced.

"The rest of us are in position by the other doors." Another of the soldiers announced. It was not just the portside and starboard artillery bays they were breaching. It was a coordinated effort with every other area of the ship where they suspected there could be a bomb or hijackers lying in wait. They found support easily enough since just about everyone was trained in combat. But only the external facing parts of the ship had the people in combat armor that was space worthy. The less armored people were at other parts of the ship that were closer to the inside. Like the cargo bays, the other hangar, and the engine and reactor room.

"We go on the commander’s signal." One of the others declared.

"Go, they are already cut off and panicking. The longer we take the longer people are in danger." Jace explained from wherever he was.

Na nodded and then announced. "All units move in." He ordered and then slipped through the door as it barely opened. He was sprinting across the room. A group of the students were being held in a group with the artillery team that had smartly set up and organized themselves around the children.

There were only five of the mercenaries armed and standing around. When they saw Na they reacted initially by aiming their weapons towards him. But then quickly aimed at the doors when they saw several other soldiers more heavily armed moving into the room.

Which was a fatal choice as Na jumped up and jammed the barrel of his pistol under the closest enemy and fired. The laser flashed along with the mercenary’s visor and his limbs went limp as Na bounced off his body.

"The hell-" One of the other mercenaries began screaming before a bullet tore through his head loudly. Causing both his head and the helmet he was wearing to explode as the high velocity armor piercing bullet flew into the distance and embedded itself in a wall.

Na moved toward the next closest enemy as he fired a few red lasers at the other two who were already scattering. Running in different directions towards cover to hide themselves. Not that it would help. The next closest one turned their weapon on Na and fired a burst of orange lasers at close range.

The heat came in a flash and disappeared just as quickly when the blue shielding from his armor covered him and then disappeared. The mercenary did a double take and then prepared to fire again. But Na was already smashing into his legs and taking him down in a flailing tumble of body parts. "Wait! I surrender! I surrender!" He dropped his weapon and started surrendering but Na ignored him as he jammed the barrel of his laser pistol under his chin and then fired.

There was less of an explosion as the mercenary’s head gained a new burning hole through it. It was because Na had changed the setting on his pistol. The first time he overcharged his pistol to cause psychological terror. It was not as important this time.

Na stood up and looked to see the last two mercenaries were being executed. He looked over the children and artillery team that was on duty when this started. "Are you all okay?" Na asked.

"Yes, but they took the Commander’s children somewhere else." One of the artillery team members announced.

Na nodded. "Portside artillery bay is cleared. Commander, your children were here but were moved."

"Starboard artillery bay is cleared." Another voice announced which seemed to be a signal for several other team leaders to announce themselves.

"Armory is cleared."

"Cargo bay one is cleared."

"Hangar bay two is cleared."

"Cargo bay two has some resistance but will be cleared momentarily."

"This is the engine room. We have some explosives hooked up here and a few deceased engineers."

"This is the reactor room. They dropped a large bomb on the reactor but it looks like proximity has melted all the electrical components and set it off. There is a lot of blood that was probably the perpetrators. No engineer bodies."

"Good job, those specialized in defusing bombs, move to the engine room. Move the bodies to the infirmary. Hopefully they can save a few of them." Commander Jace ordered. "I am moving into the bridge now."

—---------------------------

Jace slipped in through a vent that connected the bridge to his office. Which had been tossed and torn apart almost like they were looking for something. He was currently standing on the bridge with his invisibility active. There were seven people here.

Shilla was chained to the grate in the middle of the floor. He was glad he did not enter through there. Then the bridge crew was held at gun point at one side of the bridge. Cho and Jordan were being held at the other end of the bridge.

There were a few cyborg humans. One with an eye was nursing a hand wound which likely connected to why Shilla was grinning with a mouth full of blood. They were all looking at a pair of people who were on computers. "I apologize Isel-"

"It is fine we will just-" The White Resel commander started.

"Fuck that!" The bleeding hand cyborg human grabbed Jordan and pulled her up. "If that monster of a commander shows his face I am blowing this little girls head clean-"

Squelch!

The cyborg human stopped talking mid-sentence as his arms went limp at his sides. They all looked over at him. Jordan scrambled away quickly and ran toward Shilla. Cho’s eyes lit up and she ran across the room to Shilla as well.

The cyborg human was raised into the air. "Arraghahh!" He screamed as blood coughed up out of his mouth. Jace raised him up with a hand firmly gripped around his spine. His gauntlet was already tearing through his skin as he pulled slightly.

He looked around at the other six enemy combatants before slinging the body towards the guards that were holding his adoptive daughters at gunpoint. He yanked the man’s spine out and it came out with the addition of his skull as he sprinted toward the guards that were near the bridge crew. With his current weapon being a human spine and skull.

"The fuck!" One of the mercenaries screamed before the first cyborg human’s skull exploded when it was whipped around at almost sonic speeds. The mercenary’s head exploded as well and coated the nearby area in blood and brain matter. Revealing Jace’s invisible form as he wrapped the spine around another mercenary’s neck and then yanked hard, severing the mercenary’s head. Dealing with the two guards that were near the bridge crew.

He caught the decapitated mercenary head and launched it across the room as he tossed the destroyed spine. The head collided with the guards who were standing up again now that the bloody body was off of them. As he threw it, he also discreetly threw a knife that severed the chain holding Shilla down.

Jace closed the distance quickly and tackled the White Resel commander, Isel. Jace lifted him up and then slammed him down on the ground. He let out a breath of air as he was stunned for a moment as Jace prepared to go after the two mercenaries that were holding weapons on Cho and Jordan. But he was stopped by a panicked scream.

"Wait! We surrender!" One of them announced as they threw their gun down on the ground. The other one was still discombobulated and on the ground. His helmet was dented with a blood splatter covering it.

Jace stopped and looked over at the other two that were by the consoles but they were standing with their weapons drawn. Shilla already covered the distance and cut through one and then the other’s neck with a simple slash.

The bridge crew grabbed what they could and moved to detain the White Resel commander and its two surviving mercenaries. "What should we do to them?"

"Move them to the brig. Separate cells with muffles and blindfolds." Jace ordered. "I will personally handle their interrogation. Get the corpses and remain down to the medbay. Leave the mercenaries to last to be handled by the doctors. Tell them to focus on our people. Captain Shilla, take the girls to my office and clean yourself up."

"What should we do about the kitinol that is likely still closing in on our location?" One of the bridge crew asked.

"Send for the backup bridge crew. I have temporary command of the bridge and I can get us out of the system easily enough." Jace ordered them as he moved to the piloting controls and changed the direction of the lance. He then moved to the navigation console and entered coordinates opposite the direction that they were going.
