Chapter 1193 - 1161: Assault
Chapter 1161: Attack
"Every man wants to taste her, the woman named Xiao. I especially want to have a taste," Robert licked his lips as he stared at Xia Xue’s figure, unable to live without both drugs and women.
Shao Weihua chuckled, a chill flickering in his eyes.
Wang Zhanting scrutinized the No.3 private room. Compared to Shao Weihua, he noticed another scent in the room apart from the smell of blood. He had always been curious about one thing: with Xiao Lin’s possessiveness over Xia Xue, Robert’s coveting could not have gone unnoticed by him. Such forbearance surely had a reason.
The colorless and odorless ’Wu Yue’ would never leave a scent. This faint fragrance was nearly imperceptible in the air, only caught when it clung to fabric. Perhaps it suppressed Xiao Lin’s impulse, or maybe he was just overthinking it, choosing not to act to avoid Xia Xue getting hurt.
However, even with his suspicions, Wang Zhanting could not continue to conjecture. He left the private room alone while Shao Weihua was already walking back to his own room. Just as he was about to catch up, a shadow drifted from overhead, landing silently behind him. A chilly sensation flared up his spine, causing him to suddenly drop to the ground and roll aside. His startled shout stopped a departing group in their tracks, making them look over in surprise.
"Consort Ling, take Xiaoxue away!" Xiao Lin shouted, already dashing toward where Wang Zhanting had fallen. Just as he moved, Consort Ling’s figure appeared beside Xia Xue. ?
Wang Zhanting took shelter behind a wall, unable to see who it was. A ghost-like figure surrounded him, unexpectedly launching a strike before retreating. Sweat dripped from his forehead, his heart pounding. From the corner of his eye, he saw Shao Weihua’s room just to his right. With only four or five steps to escape, he decided quickly, running a few steps left, circling back to where he once stood. A cold wind blew from behind, prompting him to shout and sprint forward.
Had he overestimated his opponent or underestimated himself? While running, no one pursued him from behind. But still, Wang Zhanting dared not relax, taking big strides forward. He was just a step away from the door handle. Suddenly, the shadow that had remained hidden appeared silently in front of him.
"It’s you!" Seeing the shadow clearly, Wang Zhanting stumbled back a step in fright. "You, weren’t you supposed to have gone back?"
The shadow smirked, peach blossom eyes filled with cold indifference. On an even more beautiful face than a woman’s, there was infinite killing intent. Bang! A bullet shot out, hitting the ground by Wang Zhanting’s feet, stopping his escape route.
The gunfire outside startled those inside. Shao Weihua signaled Robert to go see, but when Robert opened the door, a figure flickered past and vanished at the entrance.
"What’s going on?" Shao Weihua asked sternly.
"Wang Zhanting was attacked. Mr. Shao, stay here, don’t come out." With that, Robert headed toward where the figure had disappeared.
Although Wang Zhanting’s existence was a threat, this moment was the perfect chance to eliminate him; naturally, it would not be missed—only the presence behind him...
Gunfire erupted again, coming from above. Robert had apparently run from the second floor to the third, his subordinates surrounding the place. A few people lay on the ground, their hearts pierced by bullets, with precision that astonished Robert.
"Wang Zhantian is already dead!" Wang Zhanting exclaimed as yet another henchman in front of him collapsed. Terrified, he pressed his hands against the wall.
Bullets eventually run out. He tallied the people on the ground, concluding that Hua Qingyi had two bullets left.
Hua Qingyi raised the gun, coldly staring at Wang Zhanting’s pale face, his finger on the trigger! Whoosh! A sound cut through the air. Wang Zhanting yanked a nearby individual in front of him. The bullet pierced the person’s heart and lodged in the wall. Using the opportunity, Wang Zhanting lunged to the right, rolling to Robert’s feet.
"Save me!" Seeing it was Robert, Wang Zhanting exclaimed with joy, grabbing his pant leg and pulling himself up. "It’s Hua Qingyi, quickly find someone to save me."
Just as he finished speaking, another whistling sound arose. Robert hesitated for a moment, collapsing with Wang Zhanting. The person behind, not as quick-footed, had their heart pierced by a bullet.
The last bullet exhausted, Wang Zhanting felt slightly less endangered. As he tried to stand, a sharp pain struck his shoulder, a force pinning him down, his entire arm going numb.
With blood-red eyes wide open, Robert charged forward a step faster than him, engaging in a battle with Hua Qingyi.
Hua Qingyi was bogged down by Robert and his two subordinates. Robert’s prowess was formidable enough, and with these two strong fighters added to the mix, Hua Qingyi found it hard to extricate himself. Watching Wang Zhanting about to escape, he shouted loudly, his palms fluttering, sending countless palm prints pressing towards Robert’s head.
As the number of assailants charging increased, the place was about to be enclosed in a circle, making it increasingly difficult to capture Wang Zhanting.
Just as the malicious gleam in Robert’s eyes intensified with the seeming hope of victory, a sudden roar exploded from behind.
Startled, Robert felt the sudden incoming chill. Without a moment to think, he immediately abandoned Hua Qingyi and swiftly dodged to the side.
Emerging from the side was Xiao Lin, who had no time to indulge in combat with him; he managed to frighten him off with a shout and showed no signs of aggression, swiftly picking up Hua Qingyi and speeding out of the small battle circle, vanishing.
Once rescued, Hua Qingyi shook off Xiao Lin’s arm. As he landed, he spun his right foot, smoothly sliding past Xiao Lin’s left side to the place where Wang Zhanting stood, clawing at his shoulders with both hands.
Seeing this, Robert snorted coldly, snatching a cleaver from one underling’s hand, and with a swift turn, he launched himself in pursuit of Xiao Lin. If not for Shao Weihua holding him back earlier, the fight would have started then. The old man had qualms about this kid, but he had none. Using brains in combat was just never as straightforward as killing someone outright. Damn!
Wang Zhanting saw that Robert and his subordinates had encircled Hua Qingyi and Xiao Lin, then stood up straight and shouted. "Catch them, I want them alive! Alive!! Ah..."
Having pushed forward to the outermost part of the loose circle, Xiao Lin swiftly blew a clear whistle and launched his body skyward, performing a fierce and brutal airborne five-kick combo, sending a rather robust underling flying with a stomp.
Under Xing Ying’s full attention, the hefty blow collapsed the henchman’s chest entirely, killing him instantly without a sound. His corpse became a road-clearing ram, knocking down several men behind him. Pausing momentarily, Xiao Lin snatched a cleaver from the ground, flinging it along with a rolling head and a burst of blood into the air. Grabbing the headless body just before it fell, he hurled it forcefully to the left rear, then dashed towards a small opening from earlier.
"Go!" Xiao Lin shouted at Hua Qingyi behind him, as the number of assailants steadily increased. "Opportunities will present themselves anytime!"
Hua Qingyi glanced at Xiao Lin heading in the opposite direction. Opportunities indeed would arise anytime, but losing this chance would make it far more challenging.
With a rapid forward rush, Hua Qingyi performed a seven-hundred-and-twenty-degree spin on the spot, the corpse in his grasp gaining tremendous speed and force, sweeping the approaching underlings and causing them to tumble.
Leaping forth and upward, Hua Qingyi swiftly landed atop the shoulders of one who had caught the corpse. With a wide-spanning aerial flip, he landed in the midst of the crowd, swinging the knife viciously to the left, slicing into an underling’s pelvis, and swiftly withdrawing it, leading to a pig-like wail of agony.
Xiao Lin helplessly watched Hua Qingyi’s persistence, re-entering the battle circle.
Catching up with Hua Qingyi, Xiao Lin glanced at the swiftly encircling crowd, having no time to say more than sharing a determined look, both simultaneously going all out. Two sharp machetes, driven by eerie body techniques, flared continuously among the increasingly dense crowd, rendering limbs and wails in concert.
Furiously expending energy and violently venting aggression, Xiao Lin’s expression grew solemn. This batch of fighters was far more rapid than anticipated, and although they’d thought breaking through this simple defense would be quick, the surrounding pressure grew ever greater.
If this continued, not only would they fail to capture anyone, but they might genuinely get surrounded. Robert’s subordinates were far more skilled than Xiao Lin imagined, their skills not those of ordinary gangsters, each possessing some foundation.
While desperately pondering a means of escape, Hua Qingyi suddenly felt a fierce and strange wind from behind. Having been in peril’s grasp for years, his heart sank. Abandoning the left-side adversary, he desperately bent forward. At the instant his head lowered, a chilly gleaming machete swept past, narrowly missing his occiput.
Standing beside Hua Qingyi, Xiao Lin swiftly sensed the plight as Hua Qingyi dodged. Without a second thought, he spun, sweeping his leg to drive back the figure attempting to hack downward. This mutual understanding prevented Hua Qingyi from enduring a grave injury!
Without needing to look back, they knew who had come—Robert, who had suddenly vanished among the assailants. Secretly cursing this speed fiend; Hua Qingyi had no time for a duel. As he glimpsed Wang Zhanting’s silhouette from the corner of his eye, his cleaver flickered silver light ahead, and the people at the front fell. Seizing this opportunity, Hua Qingyi was already stepping over corpses towards Wang Zhanting, while Xiao Lin, simultaneously giving full effort, crashed into the crowd, knocking down a number of the interceptors in an instant.
