Chapter 1195 - 1163: Bloodshed in the Parking Garage (Part 1)
Chapter 1163 Bloodshed in the Parking Garage (1)
Consort Ling carried Mr. Su’s heavy body. Though it didn’t hinder her movements, it somewhat limited her peripheral vision, reducing her ability to search. The moment she entered the underground parking, a sense of danger arose, the familiar scent made her hair stand on end.
"What’s wrong?" Having spent even more time with Consort Ling than with Xiao Lin, jokingly speaking, and being almost like a personal bodyguard who could see through private life, Xia Xue was already used to it. After several attack incidents, she deeply understood Xiao Lin’s approach. So when Consort Ling suddenly stopped and was on alert, it was a sign the danger had appeared.
Consort Ling nodded. Lorin and others were following them. The fact that they could maintain such calm in front of such a scene of violence was already impressive. Fortunately, there weren’t too many people coming; two cars would suffice to leave. "Have your friends leave first; follow me," Consort Ling said calmly.
The garage didn’t seem unusual, yet her assassin’s sharp instincts easily discerned the hiding spots of the people, and there were quite a few, with at least two or three experts she could gauge on par within them. Their goal wouldn’t be those behind them; making them leave quickly was to prevent unnecessary harm. This was something she might not have thought of in the past. Completing the task was all that mattered; additional lives could be used when necessary. Now, she didn’t know if she had changed or was influenced by those people, with a touch more caution. But this caution had become chains. It was hard to become cold-blooded and straightforward like before, though this wasn’t entirely bad.
"Are they coming for us?" Xia Xue asked anxiously. She knew the dosage she carried might give her a fighting chance against ordinary thugs, but against professionals, it was like eggs hitting a stone. She glanced back at the elevator they had come down, wishing Xiao Lin’s figure would appear before her. Consort Ling had never had such a grave expression before, usually facing such situations with ease. She didn’t know what kind of opponent they were up against this time.
"Yes!"
Xia Xue took a deep breath, turned to say a few words to Lorin, who showed a shocked expression, then regained composure. "We’ll be careful, and we’ll call the police as soon as we get out." Then she grabbed her boyfriend and ran towards Zone D. Her actions made her other friends feel odd, following along while asking questions.
"Ling, will these people really not attack them?" Xia Xue asked worriedly, watching their retreating figures.
"Yes! As long as we stand here, they’ll be safe." In fact, Consort Ling was deceiving Xia Xue. The reason she had those people leave first was to offer the biggest bait. If the other side wanted to eradicate them all, they would shoot and snipe when they were running. This would give her a chance to eliminate these hidden people in the first moment. Conversely, the result would be that these people would get into their car and escape smoothly.
The underground parking echoed with the sound of high heels clacking on the cement floor. Consort Ling shifted Mr. Su to her left shoulder, pulled out a gun, and handed it to Xia Xue. "You know how to use this, right? I’ve taught you with Miao Shaoqing."
Guns were not unfamiliar to Xia Xue, yet she had only practiced on a range and never truly used one in a life-taking situation. Her hand trembled holding it, unsure where to place it. Seeing Xia Xue’s flustered state, Consort Ling sighed. "Lin can’t spare time for us now. That shadow just now was aiming for Wang Zhanting, from the back it should be Hua Qingyi."
"Qing Yi?" Xia Xue paused, already near her car, with only two to three meters left.
"Yes!" Consort Ling nodded, trying to keep Xia Xue shielded behind her with her own body, blocking any potential ambush from hiding angles while quickly moving her feet. "Lock the door after getting in the car, then just run, understand?"
"And you?"
"I won’t be able to leave for a while!" Consort Ling’s chest heaved as dark shadows pressed in, people emerging from various dark corners wielding all sorts of weapons, their momentum fierce.
"Run! Get in the car!" Consort Ling shouted at Xia Xue, simultaneously moving swiftly, sweeping her blade stick and knocking the first wave of people to the ground, leaving no chance of survival.
Xia Xue screamed, kicking at an oncomer. Though she couldn’t finish them off with a single clean move like Consort Ling, the force was enough to keep them down momentarily. Stepping over them, Xia Xue obediently ran toward her car, only a few steps away. Once in, she could drive away with Consort Ling. These thoughts ran through her mind as she tackled the thugs one by one, reaching the car.
After slashing a few more people, Consort Ling glanced back, seeing Xia Xue already in the car and starting the engine, she exhaled in relief. In a burst of energy, she leaped over to the car, threw Mr. Su into the back seat, closed the door tightly, and knocked on the car door several times before standing firm in front of the car.
"Ling, let’s go together!" Xia Xue opened the car window and yelled to Consort Ling.
At that moment, a gust of wind shot out from the front, Consort Ling’s eyes widened, her blade stick swirled to deflect the incoming projectile with one hand propped on the hood.
"Go!" With that, Consort Ling again raised her blade stick, charging into the oncoming thugs. The real adversary hadn’t appeared yet, and she needed to conserve energy. This mob tactic was infuriating, like dealing with someone’s disgusting schemes.
Amidst the fierce battle, the thugs seemed afraid of Consort Ling’s blade stick, and more terrified of facing her head-on—seeing her not as a person, but an unstoppable specter possessed by the god of war.
The blade stick dragged along the cement ground, casting a long shadow, its sharp sound screeching through the garage, creating a unique resonance.
As Consort Ling advanced, the crowd backpedaled. Suddenly, the screeching sound of brakes shattered the silence, Xia Xue took a sharp turn ahead. She focused intently on Consort Ling and the ferocious crowd, knowing regardless of what she said, Consort Ling wouldn’t leave with her. Staying was its own risk, so she wanted to help Consort Ling one last time.
Slamming the pedal hard, the car rolled forward at high speed. Confident in her driving skills, Xia Xue charged headlong into the crowd of thugs. The impact of flesh against the metal barrier was palpable even inside the car.
Unsure of how many she hit, or if anyone died, Xia Xue relentlessly drove forward. (To be continued. If you like this work, please recommend and vote for it on Qidian. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
