Chapter 1185 Anonymous Email

Shao Weihua was left speechless, staring with wide eyes. How could he not have thought of this problem? With Nicholas’s status, how could he allow an outsider to bully him? "I say, brother, use your brain. Right now, no one can save you, understand?"

"Will the Chairman really let me go if I hand over Robert?" Shao Weihua’s arrogance suddenly deflated.

"That depends on what the Murong Family says. Will you continue to protect Robert, or oppose the Murong Family? It’s your call."

"I really don’t know where Robert is right now. Where do you want me to find him?" Shao Weihua hesitated and sat on the ground.

"Don’t worry about the person; I’ll handle it. I’ll contact you when you need to show up."

"What about Wang Zhanting?"

"The entire incident of Wang Zhantian’s murder was uploaded on video that very night. It was quite fascinating!"

"Impossible!"

"Nothing is impossible. If Chairman Quan hadn’t stepped in, you, the mastermind, would have been deported for trial by now. Killing his brother right in front of Wang Zhanting, what were you thinking? Blood is thicker than water. You weren’t afraid of his revenge and still dared to try keeping such a person by your side. Now, you should be grateful to Hua Qingyi for taking the blame for you."

"Chairman Quan, do you have any other instructions?"

"Not for now, wait for my news. If you want to survive, don’t act rashly, and don’t use your clever tactics. Every word and action of yours is under his watchful eye."

These words carried more weight than he imagined, and Shao Weihua immediately understood their meaning. With Quan Xianglin’s suspicious nature, how could he leave him outside alone? There were countless informants around him; those eliminated were merely part of them.

"Let me see you off."

"No need! It’s best that our relationship doesn’t become known to others, especially Robert." Saying this, Shao Weihua abruptly opened the door. In the corridor, a few guards were patrolling back and forth. Since Hua Qingyi’s last attack, the club’s security had doubled.

Catching a glimpse of a shoe hiding in the shadows, with only the tip visible, Shao Qinyi smirked, put on his hat, and hurried downstairs. A figure emerged quietly, cautiously approaching Shao Weihua’s office, peeking through the door crack. Before long, Shao Weihua grabbed clothes and a hat from the coat rack and walked out, habitually locking the door as he headed towards the back.

"Damn old fool!" The figure resurfaced, unlocked the password lock, and slipped inside. It seemed they mentioned some documents. Where would they be placed? Robert started searching the entire room. The person who had exited was someone he had never seen before, nor had Shao Weihua ever mentioned. It appeared to be an influential character from China. Could this be Shao Weihua’s boss, given how timid and afraid Shao Weihua seemed? Robert became intrigued with the mentioned plan, thinking it might be useful if he found it.

Opening the drawers under the desk, Robert found one that was locked. However, the locks on the desk were easily pried open, and inside, he discovered a blue courier bag with the seal already broken. It was clear Shao Weihua had seen the contents but had no intention of using the plan.

Upon flipping through the materials, his face showed more joy than surprise. "What an idiot, having such valuable items at hand yet not knowing how to use them." After photographing the entire content with his phone, he placed it back, only finding it difficult to restore the pried lock. Indifferently, Robert kicked the cabinet, smashing it to pieces quickly, followed by the desk collapsing instantly, turning the office into a battleground.

As Robert intended to leave the room, he glanced back at the phone dropped on the floor. Walking over, he dialed a number.

Sitting in the glass room basking in the sun, the wooden box sent by the Magician remained untouched on the table. No one had tried to open it. When Xiao Lin was brought back to Black Street by Hua Qingyi and his team, the Black Doctor merely glanced at him before going upstairs to sleep, leaving behind an infuriating statement.

"The bullet can’t be extracted."

Because of this statement, Yelu Shou and Hua Qingyi nearly started a fight, but fortunately, Lao Jiu intervened, preventing any bloodshed. After all, he once managed the underground city’s assassins, skilled at mediating far more smoothly than Yelu Shou.

Following this, Xiao Lin slept for three days straight, without eating or drinking. Yet, that damned miser refused to even use a bag of nutritional liquid, claiming medical resources were scarce and shouldn’t be wasted on unnecessary people. This stirred the anger in them again, and repeatedly Lao Jiu felt powerless until Xiao Lin woke up.

But upon waking, he experienced brief amnesia lasting only two hours. Black Doctor looked at Xiao Lin with a curious expression, several times wanting to speak but holding back. Now, a few of them sat around Xiao Lin, the phone played endlessly annoying games by disconnecting as soon as they were answered.

"Who called?" Lao Jiu asked.

"Shao Weihua, judging by the number, it’s from that place." Xiao Lin rubbed his temples, feeling a buzzing like multiple voices pouring into his ears from all directions but disappearing quickly. He stared blankly at the people before him, their odd expressions leaving him uncertain.

Ding dong, a mail notification appeared on the laptop, an unsigned new email entered the inbox. Xiao Lin’s gaze fell on the similarly unsigned title, moved the cursor, and clicked.

Time! Place! Clearly displayed before him! The signature was also unsigned.

The email moved to the trash and was then deleted, all actions taking place under the watchful eyes of the four others. Xiao Lin still maintained his peculiar expression, unsettling them.

"Are you hiding something from us?" Yelu Shou and Hua Qingyi suddenly asked simultaneously. Based on their understanding of him, both felt he was acting strange.

"Step outside for a moment." The Black Doctor approached Xiao Lin, dropped a senseless remark, and left the glass room. The others stared at his departure. Xiao Lin set down the computer and followed him out. Hua Qingyi was the first to rush to the computer, observing the email interface still displayed on the screen, only with empty content.

"That kid must be hiding something from us." He said angrily. (To be continued. If you enjoyed this work, please visit Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation votes, monthly votes. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
