players.

No, 281. Beasley was still locked up at the police station.

So many people, a massive crowd milling about, as bustling as a marketplace.

DeRozan and his two friends were still huddled together, talking about Beasley’s likely fate, when DeRozan heard someone call his name from behind.

He turned his head and saw a skinny, dark-skinned teenager.

"Holiday!"

DeRozan’s eyes lit up. He went forward and gave the newcomer a hug, then said, "You’re not even in high school yet, are you? I thought everyone here would be freshmen or sophomores."

Holiday grinned. "I was born in ’90, so I’m exactly fourteen, which meets the minimum requirement. Why couldn’t I come? A lot of guys are in the same boat. Maybe the production team thought we were too old for the junior division. Anyway, once summer’s over, we’ll be starting high school."

DeRozan nodded and gave Holiday a light punch on the chest, complaining that since he was in Phoenix, he should have contacted him.

The two had met quite a while ago. When he was thirteen and Holiday was twelve, he had first encountered Holiday during an AAU game in the Los Angeles area.

In that game, Holiday had guarded him personally, and he’d been shut down at least a dozen times.

They had kept in touch ever since.

"Oh, right, I saw Jennings," Holiday added.

"Oh?"

DeRozan’s eyes lit up again.

Brandon Jennings, just like him, was also born in Compton, Los Angeles.

They were the same age. Last year, when it was time to start high school, Jennings went to Domingo High School. DeRozan had originally planned on going there too.

In the United States, while Domingo High School wasn’t a basketball powerhouse on the level of Oak Hill, it had still produced excellent NBA players like Tyson Chandler and Tayshaun Prince.

However, because of an invitation from the assistant coach of the Compton High School team, he ultimately chose Compton High, which was closer to home.

"A lot of guys from Los Angeles came this time. I saw Jerome, Sco, and the Lopez Brothers over there." Holiday pointed into the distance.

DeRozan followed his gaze.

In the crowd far away, there was a pair of twins.

He had a vague memory of them, thinking he’d seen them in the AAU league. One was named Brook Lopez, the other Robin Lopez.

Just as they were talking, a teenager carrying a backpack walked in through the entrance in the distance.

The eyes of many were drawn to him.

Stephen Curry.

He scanned his surroundings, but finding no one he knew, he stood quietly in a corner.

But plenty of eyes were on him.

"You know who that is?" Holiday asked, a hint of envy in his voice.

DeRozan nodded.

Westbrook also stared intently at Curry, his expression complex. "How could I not? The media says Dr. Chen is his godfather. No idea if it’s true."

Ever since Old Curry came to Phoenix, Little Curry had often been seen by Chen Yu’s side.

Whether watching games or during the Suns’ championship celebration, the media had long since noticed the little boy who was always around Chen Yu.

Later, the media reported that Little Curry had been training with Chen Yu all along.

With Old Curry staying in Phoenix and joining Chen Yu’s company, one thing led to another, and the media started spreading the rumor that Chen Yu had become Little Curry’s godfather.

"Probably not true. Dr. Chen isn’t religious," DeRozan said, shaking his head. He then pursed his lips. "Forget it. He’s from a basketball family and started training with Dr. Chen so early. He’s not like us at all."

To kids like them who came from the slums, it felt like he and Curry were from two different worlds.

Holiday’s eyebrow shot up as he retorted, "Demar, are you talking about me? I’m not like him, am I?"

When it came to basketball families, he supposed he barely qualified.

His parents were both college basketball stars, and between their two families, there were many siblings, several of whom also played ball.

As for his generation, he and his two brothers had received basketball training from their father since they were young.

His older brother, Justin Holiday, who was a year older than him, had also been invited today.

You could say his entire family was involved with basketball.

But Curry’s dad was an NBA-level star, which was a step above.

"Speaking of basketball families, I also saw the two Thompson brothers earlier." Holiday craned his neck, searching around for a moment before pointing diagonally behind them.

Through a crowd of people, DeRozan saw three white guys standing together.

Two of them looked very similar.

And standing next to them was a big, heavyset guy.

"Who’s the big guy?" DeRozan asked casually.

He knew the ones who looked alike: the Thompson brothers. The older one was Mitchell Thompson, born in ’88, and then there was Klay Thompson, who was two years younger.

Most importantly, their dad was Michael Thompson, the number one draft pick in ’78, a member of the Showtime Lakers, and a two-time NBA champion with the team.

Holiday pursed his lips. "Kevin Love. His dad was an NBA player too. Their families are neighbors."

After Michael Thompson retired, he chose to settle down in California. Love’s dad, Stan Love, also settled in California after retiring. The two families lived very close, and the three of them had even been on the same baseball team as kids.

At that moment, Chen Yu and his entourage finally appeared.

"Quiet."

Chen Yu clapped his hands, signaling for everyone to be quiet.

DeRozan and the others immediately shut their mouths. The morning’s events had already instilled in them a sense of fear towards Chen Yu.

Accompanying Chen Yu was a large number of staff members.

"Welcome, everyone..."

After a few brief opening remarks, Chen Yu laid out several requirements.

First, they had to follow instructions.

Second, since this was a television show, it couldn’t be considered a regular training camp, so they would have to accommodate the filming schedule.
