Chapter 256: Myraid Beast Chimira
The black rain grew increasingly violent, while the entire sky seemed to be pressing downward. The place where the sixty tombstones had once stood had already transformed into a crater more than a hundred meters wide, and at the center of that crater, an entirely new tombstone was slowly rising.
Badump! Badump!
Zich hearts pounded fiercely as he waited.
The tombstone seemed to take forever as of this moment.
Ten meters.
Fifteen meters.
Twenty meters.
Only when the top of the tombstone pierced into the low hanging black clouds did its ascent finally begin to slow.
The Myriad Beast Origin Core shattered completely, and its final wisp of dark golden light entered the tombstone.
Boom!
The newborn tombstone settled heavily into place.
On its front, a line of distorted, ancient words gradually appeared beneath the streams of black rainwater.
[Here lies the Myriad Beast Chimera]
The next moment, a series of system notifications appeared before Zich.
[Fusion successful.]
[Sixty uncontracted tombstones have been consumed.]
[Special fusion material, Myriad Beast Origin Core, has been consumed.]
[You have created a new permanent summon.]
[Summon: Myriad Beast Chimera]
[Level: 1]
[Grade: Commander]
[Summoning Cost: 120 Mana]
[Maintenance Cost: 20 Mana per second]
[Abilities:
Devour: Capable of devouring corpses, monster cores, and soul energy to repair its damaged body and restore its stamina.
Three Headed Regeneration: Possesses three independent heads. Unless all three heads are destroyed within ten seconds, any destroyed heads will regrow.
Golden Beast Armor: Defensive bone armor formed from black and golden bones, greatly increasing physical and magical defense.
Storm Wings: Grants the Myriad Beast Chimera the ability to fly and allows it to generate powerful air currents by flapping its wings.
Venomous Scorpion Tail: The venom contained within its scorpion tail will gradually cause the target to lose strength and control over its body.]
[Current Tombstone Slots: 11/75]
Sixty tombstones and one Myriad Beast Origin Core had ultimately fused into only a single summon.
However, it had already reached Commander grade the moment it was born.
More importantly, it was currently only level one.
This meant it still possessed enormous room for growth.
Zich’s gaze fell upon its summoning cost and maintenance cost.
An initial summoning cost of one hundred and twenty mana was not low. At the very least, it already surpassed Tiamant’s cost of eighty mana.
Its maintenance cost of twenty mana per second was twice that of Tiamant.
With his current six hundred and seventy mana, even if he only summoned the Myriad Beast Chimera, he could maintain it for a little over twenty seconds after paying the initial summoning cost.
If both it and Tiamant were present simultaneously, his mana would not even last twenty seconds.
However, greater consumption usually meant greater power.
Zich raised his head and looked at the enormous twenty meter tall tombstone before him, the corners of his mouth slowly rising.
"Come out."
Boom!
The words on the front of the tombstone suddenly lit up.
The black soil split open from the center, and a forelimb covered in an enormous bone claw was the first to emerge from the fissure. It was followed by a second forelimb and a gigantic body capable of making ordinary monsters instinctively tremble.
[Ring of the Soul Commander effect triggered.]
[Summoning mana cost reduced by 15%.]
[Actual Summoning Cost: 102 Mana.]
The mana within Zich’s body instantly fell from six hundred and seventy to five hundred and sixty eight.
The next moment, the Myriad Beast Chimera completely emerged from the tombstone.
Its main body was that of a gigantic lion more than twenty meters long. At its center was a lion’s head wrapped in black and golden bone armor, while a ferocious python head grew from either side. Ghostly green soul flames burned within all three heads.
A thick layer of black and golden bone armor covered its entire body. There were no obvious gaps between the plates, and sharp bone spikes extended outward from the joints of its four limbs.
Two enormous Storm Eagle wings slowly unfolded from its back, with visible currents of cyan wind coiling between the wing bones.
Behind it, a scorpion tail longer than its entire body was raised high into the air. Dark green venom continuously dripped from the surface of its stinger. The moment the venom struck the black soil, the ground immediately released acrid white smoke.
Roar!
The central lion head opened its enormous jaws and unleashed a deafening roar.
The python heads on either side also rose simultaneously. Their piercing hisses overlapped with the lion’s roar as a powerful shock wave spread in every direction. Even the nearby black rain was blasted away, briefly creating a ring shaped vacuum.
Not far away, the tombstones belonging to the other summons reacted simultaneously.
Slimy poked its body out from behind its tombstone. Blood Leech pressed itself against the ground. The Silverback Ape Grunt clenched both fists, while Iron had already placed a hand on its weapon.
Deeper within the graveyard, Tiamant’s enormous tombstone trembled slightly.
A wisp of pressure belonging to the ancient bone dragon seeped out from within the tombstone.
All three of the Myriad Beast Chimera’s heads turned in that direction, and its enormous body instinctively tensed. However, it neither retreated nor issued a challenge.
After a brief confrontation, it slowly lowered all three heads.
It then turned around and approached Zich. Its forelimbs bent as its enormous body lowered itself onto the black soil with a thunderous crash.
Zich raised his head and looked at the monster with a satisfaction.
It was perhaps the most versatile summon in his arsenal. It could fly, regenerate, and possessed powerful defenses, deadly venom, and the ability to recover itself through devouring.
It did not possess Tiamant’s almost unreasonable ancient identity or absolute suppressive power, but in an ordinary battle, it was clearly far more versatile than any of his current ordinary summons.
Moreover, its Three Headed Regeneration required an enemy to destroy all three of its heads within ten seconds.
As long as even one head was not destroyed in time, the other two could regrow.
Against an enemy who did not understand its abilities, this characteristic alone would be enough to make them pay an extremely heavy price.
And this was only the state of the Myriad Beast Chimera at level one.
If it continued leveling up and devouring more high level corpses, monster cores, and soul energy, even Zich could not predict how far its body, bone armor, venom, and three heads would eventually grow.
Feeling twenty mana continuously draining from his body every second, Zich did not waste any more time.
"Go back."
All three heads of the Myriad Beast Chimera released low growls simultaneously. Its enormous body transformed into countless black specks of light and returned to the massive tombstone behind it.
The mana consumption immediately stopped.
Tap! tap!
Under the continues downpour, he stood before the Myriad Beast Chimera’s twenty meter tall tombstone and raised a hand to wipe the rainwater from his face, the smile in his eyes growing increasingly obvious.
Tomorrow was the training date he had arranged with Razeil.
That level two hundred angel had said she would make him understand how a true summoner should fight.
Zich had originally been wondering which summons he should bring with him.
Now, he already had his answer.
He wanted to see what kind of expression would appear on Razeil’s eternally calm face when she personally saw this myraid Beast chimira.
