Chapter 62 | Fighting Goblins [2]
’Shit,’ Alicar thought with a grim expression as he saw the Goblin Commander barreling toward him, its massive sword raised high.
He looked at the others for a split second and seeing they were still busy fighting other goblins, he knew he would have to face this alone.
Alicar raised Demon Guard instinctively, and the blade connected with devastating force.
SLASH!
The Goblin Commander’s sword seemed to have been enchanted by the Goblin Shaman as he was even stronger than before, the blade glowing with faint dark energy as it drew a small wound across Alicar’s torso.
He stumbled backward, his hand wiping the blood trickling from his mouth, the pain searing through his body like fire.
"Alicar!" Leon shouted, his voice filled with panic as he tried to break free from the goblins surrounding him.
The Goblin Commander loomed over him, its yellow eyes gleaming with triumph, its sword raised for the killing blow, a cruel smile spreading across its face.
But Alicar’s gaze never wavered, his eyes burning with pure determination as he reached into his storage ring with shaking hands.
He pulled out the healing potion Leon had given him and consumed it in a single gulp, the liquid burning down his throat as it worked its magic.
The E-Rank potion’s effects were immediate, his wound beginning to close, his strength returning as the magic worked through his body, the pain slowly fading.
But that wasn’t enough, he needed more power to defeat this monster, he needed to push himself beyond his limits.
Alicar opened his skill panel, his fingers moving with desperate speed as he navigated to the skill he needed.
[Skill: Six-Elements Affinity]
[Rank: Epic]
[Level: 2 (+)]
[Evolve for 4 Evolution Points?]
"Evolve!" Alicar shouted, his voice raw with determination, the word echoing through the clearing.
[Level 2 → 3]
The power surged through him like a tidal wave, his mana reserves expanding, his control over the elements sharpening to a razor’s edge.

But Alicar didn’t stop there, his mind racing with the need for more power, for any advantage he could get.
He opened his status panel, allocating six of his free attribute points directly into Spirit, feeling the energy surge through his veins like liquid fire.
His mana capacity exploded, the energy crackling around him like a storm, his aura pulsing with raw elemental power that made the air around him shimmer and distort.
The Goblin Commander hesitated, its eyes widening as it sensed the shift in Alicar’s presence, a flicker of uncertainty crossing its scarred face.
The others felt it too, Leon, David, Lena, and Alice all turning to stare at him with shock and awe as the energy radiated from his form, the power palpable even from a distance.
Alicar rose to his feet, his Cinderwood Staff crackling with elemental energy, his eyes locked on the Goblin Commander with unwavering determination.
"Now," he said, his voice cold and steady, carrying the weight of absolute conviction. "Let’s finish this."
The Goblin Commander roared in defiance and charged, its sword swinging in a devastating arc aimed at Alicar’s head.
But this time, Alicar was ready.
He raised his hand, and a wall of water rose from the ground before him, the liquid swirling with incredible speed and forming a dense, shimmering barrier.
The Commander’s sword struck the water wall, the impact sending ripples across its surface, but it held firm, the water absorbing the force of the blow.
Alicar followed up immediately, slamming his staff against the ground and summoning a wall of earth that rose behind the Commander, cutting off its escape route.
The Commander snarled, its yellow eyes burning with rage as it realized it was trapped between the two barriers.
Leon tried to help, charging forward with his Demon Fist blazing, but the Commander was too fast.
It spun and slashed at him with its enchanted sword, forcing Leon to raise Demon Guard and stumble backward, his arms trembling from the force of the attack.
"Damn it!" Leon shouted, retreating to deal with the remaining goblins that were swarming David, Lena, and Alice.
Alicar was on his own. The Commander lunged again, its sword aimed at his chest, but he was already moving.
He summoned a powerful gust of wind that deflected the blade at the last second, the sword whistling past his ear.
Then, with a flick of his wrist, he sent a barrage of ice spikes hurtling toward the Commander, each one aimed at a different vital point.
The Commander was forced to dodge and block, its movements becoming more frantic as Alicar pressed his advantage.
Alicar felt the power coursing through him, the elemental energy responding to his will like never before.
His control was sharper, his attacks more precise, his mana reserves seemingly endless.
He raised his staff, focusing all of his energy into a single, devastating attack.
The air around him began to swirl, a massive blade of wind forming above his head, its edges crackling with lightning.
The Goblin Commander’s eyes widened with caution as it saw the attack forming, recognizing the threat it posed.
It charged forward, hoping to interrupt Alicar before he could finish the spell. But it was too late.
Alicar released the attack, the massive wind blade shooting forward with incredible speed, lightning dancing along its edges.
The Commander raised its sword to block, the enchanted blade meeting the wind blade with a deafening crash.
For a split second, the two forces struggled against each other, sparks flying in all directions.
And then, the wind blade broke through.
The attack struck the Commander square in the chest, sending it crashing backward, its body convulsing as the lightning coursed through its system.
Alicar didn’t give it time to recover.
He summoned massive boulders that rose from the earth and smashed into the Commander’s body.
Then, with another gesture, he sent a volley of ice spears hurtling toward the creature, each one impaling its body with brutal precision.
The Goblin Commander let out one final, pained roar before its body went limp, collapsing to the ground in a heap.
Ding!
[You have killed Lv.20 Goblin Commander]
[You have leveled up to Level 15!]
[You have gained one point in every attribute, and two free attribute points.]
Alicar looked down at the body of the Goblin Commander with a wide grin on his face, his chest heaving with exhaustion.
"I guess I was stronger than I thought," he said, his voice filled with satisfaction.
The others stared at him in stunned silence, their eyes wide with disbelief at what they had just witnessed.
Leon was the first to break the silence, a grin spreading across his face. "That was incredible."
David sheathed his greatsword, shaking his head in amazement. "I don’t believe it. You took down a rare-rank monster by yourself."
Lena and Alice exchanged a look, their expressions a mixture of shock and admiration.
Alicar simply shrugged, his grin widening as he looked at the fallen Commander.
He had faced worse, he had faced the Sun Beast and survived. This was just another step on his journey.
