Chapter 77: Magma Burst
Immediately, a giant tornado of golden flames and lightning rose up around Leon, rapidly expanding outward in every single direction until it threatened to destroy the whole building.
The tornado tore straight through the cracked ceiling, pulverizing the surroundings into fine dust and shaking the grand fortress to its core.
The sheer heat radiating from the spinning storm made the air itself boil, and the intense pressure threatened to vaporize the remaining structure within seconds.
"Nooo!!" Teon shouted at the top of his lungs, dashing towards heart of the raging tempest in a desperate bid to stop the total destruction of the building.
The eight massive arms by his sides moved along with him in perfect sync, the jagged red cracks along their stone surface heating rapidly with intensely boiling magma.
Teon got to the front of the explosion before it could expand any further through the grand reception hall, stretching all eight arms of his wide open towards the blinding vortex.
He poured every single drop of his mana and authority into the summoned arms, using their dense, volcanic properties to forcefully contain and suppress the spreading cataclysm before it consumed the upper floors.
A huge portion of the flames were immediately sucked directly into the giant arms, the jagged red cracks along their thick forearms growing even wider and deeper as more heat were absorbed into them.
The giant limbs groaned and vibrated violently as they absorbed the roaring holy fire, straining under the overwhelming power of Excalibur as they worked to hold back the inferno from obliterating the rest of the building.
He couldn’t focus on containing the furious tornado for very long though, before a massive, blinding crescent slash came flying straight at him from Leon through the center of the storm.
The crackling golden arc of lightning tore through the thick haze at terrifying speed, slicing through the air with a deafening screech as it aimed directly for the guildmaster’s chest.
Teon gnashed his teeth in desperation, his jaw locking tight as he realized he had no time to maneuver his giant hands into position to block the attack.
In a split second, thick blue crystal armor immediately sprouted all around his body, sealing him inside a heavy shell that rapidly closed up over his head with a menacing, fanged helmet.
The crescent slash slammed heavily into the blue crystal armor with a thunderous, violent explosion, immediately sending Teon flying back through the air like a ragdoll.
The sheer force behind Leon’s crescent slash completely bypassed the guildmaster’s massive weight and firm stance, blasting his heavily armored body straight across the ruined hall.
His back was about to slam into the wall, but luckily for him, he made sure to call back two of his Asura arms with him when he was flung.
One of them quickly moved behind him, shielding him from the impact of hitting the wall.
He grunted softly, using the hand as balance to land back on the ground.
However, he wasn’t happy and the expression on his face kept worsening in frustration, as he knew the fight was still far from over.
Meanwhile, the remaining six reddish-brown arms remained behind, steadfastly absorbing the giant tornado of golden flames and lightning until the storm was completely contained and nothing was left of it.
The moment they finished absorbing the lingering golden flames and lightning, the six giant arms dashed towards Leon with terrifying speed.
Aegis materialized in front of Leon before they could reach him, casting a brilliant, radiant green light that formed a shield to protect his body.
However, instead of hitting Aegis and risking another devastating reflection, their massive palms suddenly slammed on the ground directly in front of the shield instead.
The heavy, stone-like hands struck the ruined marble floor with a thunderous crash that shook the entire foundation of the headquarters.
Leon’s eyes widened slightly in surprise, not expecting this strange yet tactical development from his father’s summoned arms.
He had anticipated another direct physical strike that his green shield would effortlessly absorb and bounce back, but Teon’s seasoned combat instincts had started adapting to his shield, finding more ways to attcak him even with Aegis in the way.
The ground beneath him rapidly grew hotter, and the floor directly beneath his feet turned a bright, blinding red, like the mouth of a volcano about to erupt.
The intense thermal energy radiated upward through the cracked stone tiles, distorting the air around his legs and filling the space with suffocating heat.
It felt like he was standing directly on top of a blazing hot electric stove turned up to its maximum.
The thick leather soles of his footwear liquefied into black ash the moment they made contact with the glowing surface, exposing the heat to his feet and threatening to char his skin.
Leon quickly leapt backwards with explosive agility, pushing off the superheated ground to put distance between himself and the glowing trap.
Immediately after his feet left the surface, a powerful, roaring stream of boiling magma burst out of the ground where he had been standing.
The thick, red-hot liquid shot straight up into the air like a geyser of pressurized water, roaring past his rising figure before splashing heavily back down onto the marble floor below.
The intense heat of the liquid rock instantly vaporized the surrounding debris, melting the stone tiles, metal reinforcement beams, and shattered concrete into a pooling lake of glowing liquid.
Leon felt a cold, sharp chill run down his spine as he landed lightly a few meters away, looking back at the smoking, bubbling crater created by the sudden elemental eruption.
He realized that the terrifying magma stream could have hit him directly if he hadn’t dodged backward at the last second.
With his exceptionally large vitality attribute and health points, being hit by the molten stream certainly wouldn’t kill him outright, but it would have burned his skin terribly and hurt more than any pain he had ever experienced in his entire life.
