Chapter 498: knights of Ruin
"You seem pretty angry," Zion said as he walked beside Silva.
"He touched my family," Silva replied.
"I think he is banking on your aggression," Zion said.
"I know that."
"And you are still going in with rage?"
"I do not care, I’m going to rip his face off," Silva replied.
He took his next step forward and something clicked beneath his feet. He pulled his leg back and saw the button on the ground.
"Tch, traps," Silva muttered.
From the walls on the right, a large spike made from the wall extended from the wall right at Silva. He leaned back and evaded the spike, before spinning and moving under the spike fast.
He only took a few steps before another shot out of the ground, he stepped back and evaded it, the spike shot so high it almost hit the ceiling.
Silva looked ahead and saw the end of the hallway, where he had to get through, he leaned forward and bolted extremely fast, his body rocketing ahead like a bullet, but the spikes were ready as well.
Multiple shot out from right and left, Silva weaved left and right, under and above as he dodged every one, he moved around the ones that came from above and below while still keeping his speed.
He cleared the final one and crossed out of the hallway, entering another hallway.
"Seems there is more hallway to go," Zion said while floating above Silva.
"Tch, can you at least find the way out and lead me?" Silva asked.
"Of course, should have asked a long time ago?" Zion said with a wink and then flew ahead casually. Silva waited for a few minutes and then Zion returned.
"Well, there is good news and there is bad news. The good news is that there is a way out, but the bad news is that you are in for one hell of a fight.
Oh, and also, Ragna is no longer on the ship."
"He left the ship? Tch, coward." Silva gritted his teeth, he looked up at Zion. "I’m guessing there are Weeping Angels waiting for me."
"Actually, no, it seems that he left along with all the Weeping Angels, he detached a segment of the ship and left.
What’s here to fight you are some armed knight-looking beings," Zion explained.
"I guess I should have figured that a being like Ragna would not have only Weeping Angels."
Silva said and began walking.
"Well, I have a question. I know the guards might be strong, but is he that sure that they would be able to stop you? I thought he wanted to take you down for certain and use you," Zion asked.
"Yeah, I thought that too, but it seems his plan might be more nuanced than just taking me down in seconds or trying to at least.
I have a feeling that Ragna knows it will not be easy to capture me, even for a being like him, and so he wants to wear me down in every regard.
That’s why he would go after my family and friends," Silva said, he balled his fist as he reached the last part of it.
He made it through the hallways and then he saw them, over 20 knights all standing and waiting for him. Each one stood at seven feet tall, they somehow gave off the same energy as the angels and yet they felt different.
"I’m guessing you are some cosmic-related knights like the angels," Silva said.
The moment he said that, one of the knights in the front pointed his sword up.
"Do not speak of those angels," he sounded angry, "we are the knights of Ruin, an elite force created by Lord Ragna," he spoke in a heavy monotone voice.
"I have the feeling that Ragna simply made you because he needed a substitute force due to the fact that the much stronger angels have a cosmic law in place."
"You know nothing about Lord Ragna, we exist with a cosmic law as well, but the law states that whoever sees us must die, or the knight that is seen dies.
That is the reason we are never shown, because our cosmic law does not allow us to be."
"Ahhh, that makes more sense," Zion said.
Every knight raised their sword simultaneously.
Silva raised his.
"I’m not going easy on any of you," he said, his eyes moving across the formation. "Step aside or I break through you. I’ve already handled multiple Weeping Angels. You are next in line."
The leader looked at him.
"Those were the Angels," he said. "We are nothing like them."
He moved.
The speed was not normal speed. It was the kind that left the air confused about where the body had been, afterimages hanging in the space the leader had occupied as he covered the distance between them and arrived behind Silva before the sentence had fully finished echoing.
The slash came down.
Silva reacted at the last possible moment, spinning and pushing back, the blade catching nothing but air as it continued its arc and hit the ground instead. The explosion that came off the impact filled the hallway with fire and force, the floor cracking outward from the point of contact in every direction.
The other twenty knights moved at the same moment.
They spread fast, each one taking a position around Silva, the formation closing into a ring that left no clean exit in any direction, every blade raised, every eye on him.
Silva looked around the circle.
"I’m not doing this alone," he said.
He summoned the clones.
All ten appeared around him in the same instant, each one holding a sword, and they took in the situation the way they always did, pulling it from Silva’s mind in seconds.
"Another fight," one said.
"Seems like a different kind though," another said, studying the knights.
"Do they stop if we look at them?" a third asked, staring directly at the nearest knight with an expression of genuine curiosity.
"Different cosmic law," Silva said. "These ones you can kill."
The clones understood immediately.
Both sides launched at the same moment.
