Chapter 88: Sweet Revenge
While the lower districts of Norona City turned into a screaming, ash-choked slaughterhouse, Alisa moved through the devastation like an absolute phantom.
Her Ghost-Silk properties rendered her completely untraceable; she moved faster than the eye could track.
Sliding through the shadows left behind by Commander Trojan’s apocalyptic Crimson Calamity and Alpha Brenda’s rampaging beasts.
Every time a heavy Orc warrior turned to ash, or a giant Ogre fell with its throat ripped out, a slender, translucent hand would briefly manifest from the dark.
With mechanical, terrifying precision, Alisa’s phantom veil daggers sliced into the chests of the fallen abominations.
She harvested the valuable, glowing Mana Cores of the slain Orcs, Ogres, Goblins, and Trolls, slipping them into her spatial storage ring before the corpses could even finish sliding into the dirt.
That was the task given to her by Roy.
To the surviving enemy forces, it simply looked like their dead comrades’ chests were spontaneously bursting open in the dark, their mana cores stripped away by an invisible thief.
Deeper into the secret sector, away from the frontline chaos, Captain Eurenia pursued a completely different scent.
Her dense, alloy-fused skeletal structure vibrated with a cold, unshakeable focus as she tracked the surging, volatile leylines leading directly toward the forbidden ritual site.
A squad of elite Troll sentries, wielding massive obsidian halberds, suddenly blocked the narrow stone corridor ahead of her.
"Intruder!" their captain roared.
"Hmph" Eurenia’s eyes shimmered, "For the glory of Lord Varanus" she declared.
Eurenia didn’t even slow down.
Her posture was flawless, a cold, satisfied smile carving through her features.
With a single, fluid step, she closed the distance.
Deep crimson sparks erupted from her fingertips as her newly optimized fiery mana cores.
She executed a series of blinding, high-speed slashes with her blade.
The Troll sentries—despite their legendary natural regeneration—found their flesh instantly cauterized by a dark, unquenchable fire that consumed their cellular structure.
Within three seconds, five elite sentries were reduced to smoking, severed chunks of charcoal.
Eurenia kicked open the heavy iron doors at the end of the corridor, stepping into a massive, subterranean depths lined with glowing, necrotic runes.
Standing at the center of the ritual chamber, surrounded by the faint, pulsing energy of the desert’s core, was her unfinished business.
The Ogre General, Ryokan.
Overnight, the brute had also undergone a violent evolution, his frame expanding to a monstrous four meters in height, his skin turning a dark, rocky slate-grey.
"Hehehe look who we have here" General Ryokan’s laugher boomed. "My little pussy came to daddy"
He radiated the dense, oppressive gravity of a newly ascended Martial General.
In his massive hands, his heavy frost-axe hummed with a permafrost aura that instantly froze the moisture in the air.
"I have come to kill you, Ryokan" Eurenia stepped forward, showing no signs of fear in her eyes.
"You?" Ryokan sneered, his deep, guttural voice echoing off the stone pillars. "The weakling from the gates." he chuckled.
"You may have survived my wrath, you have evolved into a Martial General but It matters not." the air rippled.
"I have ascended. Tonight, I will shatter your bones into dust!"
"You talk too much for a corpse," Eurenia whispered, her dual-colored eyes flashing with absolute malice.
Ryokan roared, leaping across the plaza with physics-defying speed.
His massive frost-axe came down in a brutal, overhead cleave, unleashing a thundering shockwave of absolute-zero ice spears designed to freeze Eurenia’s blood in her veins.
But Eurenia stood her ground.
Her internal mana channels erupted as she unleashed her first newly evolved skill:
Crimson Flame Spirit.
A spectral, multi-armed avatar of pure, condensed black Asura fire materialized around her form.
The intense, divine heat radiating from the spirit didn’t just melt Ryokan’s ice spears—it violently vaporized them into a blinding cloud of scalding steam before they could even get within five meters of her.
Through the white fog, Eurenia blurred forward.
Ryokan swung his axe in a wild, horizontal sweep, but Eurenia activated her secondary, active skill:
Turn Null.
The air around her blade suddenly lost all color, turning a terrifying, absolute void-black.
Turn Null bypassed the physical and magical defenses of the target, treating the space it occupied as absolute zero-point nothingness.
Even disrupting the efficiency of the Ogre General’s skill.
When Ryokan’s legendary frost-axe collided with Eurenia’s void-coated blade, there was no loud clash of metal.
The heavy, enchanted steel head of the Ogre General’s axe was instantly erased from existence upon contact, leaving Ryokan holding a useless wooden stick.
"What?!" Ryokan gasped, his monstrous pupils shrinking in sheer terror.
"My turn," Eurenia smiled.
The heated battle turned into a ruthless, one-sided execution.
Eurenia blurred around the four-meter monster like a crimson hurricane.
The Crimson Flame Spirit pinned Tagar’s massive arms back, its fiery tendrils searing through his slate-grey skin and cooking his muscles from the inside out.
Ryokan shrieked in agony, his Martial General aura violently flaring as he tried to break free, but Eurenia’s dense, alloy-tempered physique easily absorbed the concussive shockwaves of his desperate struggles.
With a cold, precise movement, Eurenia drove her void-coated hand straight through Tagar’s chest armor.
Turn Null effortlessly disintegrated his breastplate, allowing her fingers to lock directly onto his breastbone.
She twisted her wrist.
CRAAACK.
With her monstrous, alloy-reinforced physical strength, she violently ripped Ryokan’s entire sternum outward, exposing his massive, pulsing heart to the ambient heat of the room.
"FUCCCCCKKK THIS BITCH!" the Ogre General roared.
Ryokan choked, a geyser of thick black blood erupting from his maw.
He tried to fight back but....
Eurenia didn’t stop there.
She was faster.
She channeled the full, unbridled output of her Crimson Flame Spirit directly into his open chest cavity.
The dark, volcanic fire poured into his veins, boiling his blood line by line, causing his veins to bulge and glow bright orange beneath his skin.
With a brutal kick to his knee, she shattered his joint, forcing the massive Ogre General to his knees before her.
"It’s not over yet" Eurenia growled.
She grabbed his tusks from behind, pulling his head back sharply, and ran her void-blade directly through his throat, severing his vocal cords before he could even utter a final plea.
With one final, violent heave, she completely decapitated the Ogre General, throwing his smoking, headless torso into the center of the ritual leylines, where it violently burst into ash under the residual heat of her crimson flames.
Eurenia flicked the black blood off her boots, her breath completely stable, her satisfaction absolute.
"Finally" Eurenia moaned softly, beads od tears dripped down her cheeks.
The shame of her past defeat had been thoroughly, gruesomely erased.
She had finally avenged her father!
