Starting Out As The God of Beasts

Chapter 95: Might of Tempest

In the shadows of Norona City.

The massive obsidian doors of the subterranean inner chamber didn’t just open; they were violently thrown back by a heavy, oppressive wave of necrotic mana.

Amidst the grand, world-shaking commotions of the invasion.

The distant, apocalyptic thunder of High Priest Croak’s raging ocean and the cataclysmic kinetic shockwaves of Lord Manuses tearing the upper city apart.

The Troll King, Razarak, walked into the main ritual room.

His colossal, four-meter-tall frame was a terrifying testament to ancient, rotting majesty.

Wrapped in thick, centuries-old ritualistic bandages that oozed a foul, sickly green fluid, his massive shoulders supported a crown forged from the jagged bones of desert behemoths.

"Hmph" Razarak scoffed, "To think the new Tempest City had this much strength huh?"

"But in the end....as long as Lord Damascus descends, all shall be ours" Razarak’s lips curled into a dark grin.

He carried the absolute, heavy density of a sovereign, his skin the color of deep, decaying moss.

His hollow eyes burning with a volatile, necrotic green light that seemed to actively consume the ambient illumination of the room.

But as he took his third step into the chamber, his grand, arrogant stride came to a sudden, absolute halt.

The heavy, rhythmic tapping of his bone-carved scepter stopped.

The necrotic energy radiating from his frame flickered wildly.

Before him, the grand ritual ground was completely quiet.

"What is going on here?" Razarak’s eyebrows furrowed. His frown deepened.

There were no active chants.

There was no pulsing connection to the desert’s core.

Instead, the sacred runic floor was completely littered with the gruesome, defiled remains of his elite line.

All of his high-ranking Troll priests were lying dead on the cold stone ground.

They had been systematically slaughtered without mercy, their long noses smashed, their throats cleanly slit, and their chests hollowed out where their valuable mana cores used to be.

The ancient, sacred architecture was completely drenched in a thick, rapidly cooling pool of their own black-green blood.

The absolute silence of the room was deafening, contrasting sharply with the violent trembling of the city above.

"WHO DID THIS!!?" Razarak roared.

The Troll King’s jaw tightened, his yellowed, jagged tusks grinding together in a wave of sudden, unadulterated fury.

The ancient name he had worked so hard to erase from the Hudeii Desert seemed to echo back to him in the silence of his slaughtered court.

Slowly, deliberately, the massive sovereign turned his head, his glowing green gaze cutting past the mountain of dead priests and staring directly into the deepest, unlit darkness of the western corner of the chamber.

From the heavy, ink-like shadows, the sound of slow, mocking footsteps began to echo.

A figure casually stepped forward into the dim light of the dying torches.

"Greetings Mr. Razarak" a gentle voice echoed through the room.

Roy emerged from the dark, his posture completely relaxed, a blood-stained dagger spinning lazily between his fingers.

His clothes were immaculate, entirely untouched by the chaos of the war outside, and a cold, sharp grin was plastered wide across his lips

.

"Looking for your choir, Your Majesty?" Roy chuckled, his eyes gleaming with absolute malice. "I’m afraid they’ve already sung their final verse."

"Who are you?" Razarak questioned.

"Are you also a Tempest’s Martial Lord or something?" he asked.

"Tempest Martial Lord?" Roy chuckled softly, "I feel honored being seen in such a light but I’m not"

"Oh, you’re not?" the Troll King vanished from his spot, spawning right before Roy.

He swung down his behemoth fist, aiming to crush Roy into meat paste but Roy blocked that punch with a single finger.

"Patience" Roy whispered, "You should waited until I was done speaking..." Roy grinned.

"Huh....??" the Troll King lost his balance without even realizing it, he was swung upside down by Roy’s single finger.

Roy launched a kick, sending the Troll King crashing into a wall.

"I’m beyond the cultivation realm of Martial Lords" Roy exhaled a soft sigh, "You are still an Initial-enlightened stage Martial Lord"

"You won’t win against me, so there’s no need to bother yourself" he added.

"Hmph" the Troll King emerged from the wall he crashed into, he stood completely unscathed. Staring down at Roy like a mountain.

"We haven’t even properly fought, yet you are certain you could defeat me huh?" the Troll King chuckled.

"How bold"

"Who are you?" Razarak asked again.

"It seems you’re really eager to figure out my identity huh?" Roy couldn’t help but smile, "I have no reason not to tell you"

"It’s Jarden Rome"

"Jarden Rome?" Razarak’s eyes narrowed, "the Apostle of Varanus?" he asked.

"So you’ve heard of me huh?" Roy grinned, "I’ve accomplished my task already, we’ll see later"

"Bye" Roy turned to leave, waving at the infamous Troll King.

But this angered Razarak the more, the air rippled and the earth trembled by the frost might of the Troll King.

Roy could feel the moisture in the air freezing.

This is the effect of the Troll King’s active skill.

Frozen Death Star!

"Frozen Death Star?" Roy asked.

"You sure are knowledgeable eh?" the Troll King stepped forward, "You invaded my land, killed hundreds, even thousands of my people"

"Why do you think I’ll let you go so easily?" Razarak questioned.

"Why huh?" Roy giggled, "The reason is simple. I’m stronger than you"

"You know that already....and besides you invaded Tempest twice, why do you think your Norona would remain untouched"

"I will not be killing you today" Roy sighed, "Killing you isn’t the task Lord Varanus gave to me"

"So be prepared"

"You declared war on Tempest right?" Roy’s eyes flickered, the air trembled, "We’ll be invading a second time"

"The next time we come...."

"Norona City will be no more" Roy declared. "Braise yourself for our return"

"I have achieved what I came here to achieve, see ya later" Roy instantly vanished from the scene.

His presence erased by his Divine Essence.

The moment he gave the signal, all cultivators of Tempest City retreated.
