Chapter 301: Lord Vespera Vs. Lord Sky
Thor’s storm-blue eyes instantly widened to the size of saucers, her mouth watering as a boisterous thunderous grin split across her broad face.
"BY THE ANCESTORS!" Thor roared out in unrestrained delight.
Without waiting for silver forks or knives, Thor reached out her bare muscular hands and snatched a massive, four-foot-long roasted wyvern rib straight off the top of the pile.
She opened her jaw wide and bit directly into the thick, steaming meat!
CHOMP! CRUNCH!
Bone and meat shattered between her teeth with a terrifying rhythmic impact.
Thor chewed violently, swallowing half the rib in a single gulp, before reaching out with her other hand to grab an entire roasted wild boar by its hind leg.
GLUB! GLUB! GLUB!
She snatched a gallon jug of chilled dwarf-mead from a butler’s tray, chugging the entire jug down her throat in three seconds flat, letting the golden foam spill over her chin and singlet.
"GWAHAHAHA!" Thor laughed boisterously, wiping her mouth with the back of her forearm, her booming voice echoing off the pavilion walls! "Good! GOOD! Now THIS is a proper feast!"
She pointed a greasy meat-filled bone toward the royal-blue-haired Princess, nodding approvingly.
"I must say, Princess... you are far, far better than that overgrown green weed! That insufferable Druid would have given me a bowl of raw grass and lectured me about nature balance for three hours! You actually feed a warrior real meat!"
The Princess let out another soft, amused laugh, fanning herself gently as she watched the female Thor devour half a mountain of food in less than sixty seconds.
Thor didn’t even slow down.
She tore through roasted hydra legs, swallowed kraken tentacles whole, and smashed through silver platters, yelling out at the bowing butlers between massive mouthfuls.
"HEY! BRING SECOND SERVINGS! BRING THIRD SERVINGS! THIS TINY MOUNTAIN ISN’T GOING TO SATE ME AT ALL! I NEED TEN MORE BOARS AND A BARREL OF DWARF MEAD!"
The butlers bowed in sheer terror, sweating profusely as they ran off to the kitchens at top speed to fulfill her order.
The Princess watched Thor eat with a mixture of awe and playful exasperation, letting out a soft melodic sigh.
"Haah~ If I weren’t the Princess of the Lord World with access to the imperial treasury, and were just a regular person... a single meal with you would have put me into so much debt that I would have seriously considered dying."
Thor stopped eating mid-bite with a massive piece of hydra meat hanging from her jaw. She blinked her storm-blue eyes, processing the Princess’s words, then let out a loud hearty laugh.
"Gwahahaha! Well, I am bloody glad you’re a Princess then!" Thor declared cheerfully, swallowing the hydra meat whole.
DZZZZZT!
Suddenly, the golden holographic display in the center of the suite flashed brightly.
The glowing countdown timer hit zero!
[00:00:00 — BROADCAST LIVE SIGNAL ESTABLISHED!]
The floating screen automatically expanded, maximizing its display to cover the entire far wall of the private dining pavilion...
The live view count on the upper corner instantly exploded past three hundred and fifty million concurrent viewers!
Thor wiped her greasy hands on a silk napkin, leaning forward in her chair as her storm-blue eyes sharpened into those of an ancient battle god.
"Aha..." Thor grinned, her voice dropping into a low rumbling frequency. "The war has finally begun."
[Deep within the Umbral Basin, along the neutral border clearing...]
The morning air was thick with tension.
Over the past week, The Unmovable Wall had shifted its massive, multi-tiered steel treads forward, rolling three miles closer to the boundary of the Blessed Land.
The colossal mobile fortress sat parked on a long, wide, and flat clearing that had been completely leveled by heavy spells... forming a massive open battlefield spanning thousands of yards.
Up ahead, the divine, translucent fog that Eluned had cast to cover the Blessed Land was beginning to recede.
The green-tinted mist pulled back slowly, revealing the terrifying impenetrable perimeter of Silas’s territory.
Rising high above the tree line stood the newly upgraded Steel-Weave Perimeter Walls... reinforced with interlocked pitch-black Obsidian-Slate Stone and reinforced with tempered steel alloy plating that glinted coldly under the sun.
And towering fifty feet above the main gates was the Tier 3 Watchtower...
Stationed atop the high stone battlements were dozens of women... archers holding heavy composite longbows, and mages in arcanist robes with staffs held ready.
Their cold gazes stared straight down at The Unmovable Wall.
In front of his mobile fortress, Lord Sky took a deep, steadying breath.
"Haah~"
He was wearing his full-face, silver-and-black streaming helmet... the spatial disguise artifact forged by Thora’s father that completely concealed her true identity as a young, black-haired woman in a hoodie.
Hovering all around Sky were hundreds of sleek silver Streaming Drones. Every single optical sensor was active, tracking her physical movements, capturing panoramic battlefield angles, and transmitting ultra-high-definition video feeds to over three hundred million viewers watching live across the globe.
Sky was a master content creator... a veteran Classic Lord who knew exactly how to manipulate broadcast tension, farm viewer engagement, and build hype.
This single Lord War stream was going to elevate her career past anything the streaming industry had ever seen.
Sky took ten deliberate, confident steps forward onto the grassy battlefield, raising his gloved hand toward the central hovering drone.
"Welcome, everyone, to the official main event!" Sky announced with his voice amplified by his helmet’s audio transmitter, sounding boisterous and full of energy. "It’s been quite some time since I felt this level of raw excitement in my chest... Two territories, one battlefield and no holding back!"
On his internal HUD display, Sky could see millions of live comments cascading past at light-speed... but with a quick practiced flick of her fingers, Sky disabled the comment overlays on her main screen.
In a high-stakes territory war, distractions were lethal.
Sky turned his masked head back toward the lower gun decks of The Unmovable Wall, his tone dropping into a hard commanding military commander.
"All gun crews to your stations! Man the heavy mana cannons!"
CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!
From the iron gun ports lining the lower hull of the mobile fortress, thirty colossal, heavy-bore Mana Cannons extended their black steel barrels.
The runic artillery arrays hummed violently as high-density mana crystals loaded into the breech chambers.
In the Sovereign Realm, official Lord Wars operated under strict system-enforced victory parameters.
A victory could be achieved by depleting the enemy territory’s Structural Integrity from one hundred percent down to five percent or lower through continuous siege bombardment.
Alternatively, a victory occurred if the opposing Lord was physically captured, slain, or officially tapped out by declaring surrender on their system interface.
Sky stood on the grassy field, looking up at the high stone walls of the Blessed Land.
Behind her helmet, Sky’s sharp black eyes narrowed.
Even though her scouts had been wiped out earlier, her veteran instincts as a Classic Lord remained unshakeable.
’I’m up against a brand-new, unregistered Lord...’ Sky thought with sharp thoughts. ’She has high-tier Heroes, sure, but in terms of territory siege warfare, experience is everything. It’s really not that serious. A couple of heavy artillery salvos will force her barriers open...’
Sky drew his broad steel sword from his belt, pointing the gleaming blade straight toward the Blessed Land’s main gates.
"First Legion... FIRE!" Sky bellowed.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
A deafening earth-shattering roar erupted from the front ten mana cannons.
The shockwave was so immense that the grass beneath the fortress was instantly vaporized into black ash.
Ten colossal spheres of highly compressed, glowing red destructive mana shot through the sky, tearing across the clearing with whistling velocity.
FWOOSH! FWOOSH! FWOOSH!
The explosive cannonballs hurtled directly toward the main gates of the Blessed Land.
Sky fully expected a standard translucent magical barrier or an iron energy shield to manifest over the walls to absorb the impact.
’I can’t wait to see the hit...’
She raised his sword higher, executing a double-salvo tactic to overload the enemy’s energy reserves.
"Second Legion! Third Legion! Continuous fire!" Sky commanded!
BOOOOOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOOOOOM!
Twenty additional heavy mana cannons fired in rapid succession.
Twenty more blazing red-hot energy cannonballs tore through the air, creating a wall of flying explosive destruction heading straight for Silas’s territory.
Thirty heavy artillery rounds in total... enough firepower to flatten a regular mountain stronghold!
...However, just as the first wave of red cannonballs reached within fifty yards of the Blessed Land’s outer perimeter—
STEP!
A single cloaked figure casually stepped up to the very edge of the high stone wall, looking down at the incoming barrage.
It was Eluned.
The SSS-Rank Nature Goddess was wearing a flowing dark-green hooded cloak over her white robes.
Her long emerald hair drifted gently in the wind with her deep green eyes calm, unbothered, and utterly unimpressed by the thirty flying explosive rounds.
Eluned didn’t draw a staff.
She didn’t chant an incantation, hell she didn’t even raise her aura.
She simply raised her delicate, bare right hand... and made a casual, dismissive flick of her fingers.
HUMMM!
In that exact second... the entire front section of the Blessed Land’s Steel-Weave perimeter wall came alive!
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Hundreds of colossal, thick, and impossibly dense Ancient Ironwood Roots erupted violently from the stone masonry.
The thick, thorned roots grew at light-speed, interweaving across the air like a sprawling, beautiful, and impenetrable botanical web.
The thirty blazing red mana cannonballs slammed directly into the dense root web...
...But they didn’t explode!
The moment the high-density mana cannonballs touched the divine nature-infused roots, the ancient flora didn’t absorb the impact.
Instead, the roots curled with fluid, spring-like elasticity, absorbing the momentum... and LAUNCHED ALL THIRTY CANNONBALLS DIRECTLY BACK AT LORD SKY’S TERRITORY!
VWOOSH! VWOOSH! VWOOSH!
The thirty blazing red cannonballs reversed direction instantaneously, flying back across the field toward The Unmovable Wall at double their original speed.
"WHAT?!" Sky gasped out, her composure completely shattering behind her helmet.
What kind of absurd god-tier strength was that?! Reflecting thirty heavy siege artillery rounds with a casual flick of a hand without losing a single point of structural integrity?!
Eluned didn’t even stay to watch the chaos.
She offered a soft, quiet scoff beneath her hood, turned on her heel, and casually slunk back down the battlements into the Keep.
Seeing their own thirty high-density cannonballs screaming back toward their front line...
FLASH!
From the front deck of The Unmovable Wall, one of Sky’s elite Hero combatants stepped forward!
It was a tall woman clad in heavy, pink-tinted tower armor, holding a massive tower shield.
She slammed her shield flat into the ground, unleashing every drop of her physical mana.
"DIVINE AEGIS WALL!" the Hero roared.
SHRRRRR!
A massive, semi-transparent pink barrier expanded across the entire front of Sky’s territory, forming a curved dome over the mobile fortress!
BOOOOOOM! BOOOOM! BOOOOM! BOOOOM!
All thirty reflected cannonballs slammed into the pink barrier simultaneously.
Violent blinding explosions of fire and shockwaves tore through the neutral clearing...
The absurd force of the impacts caused the pink barrier to shake violently, deep spiderweb cracks spreading across its surface as the Hero gasped out in pain with her boots sliding backward through the dirt.
"Haah~"
CRACK! CRACK!
The pink barrier barely held on, shattering into harmless pink spackles as the last explosion cleared.
The Hero collapsed to her knees, panting heavily with her mana reserves completely depleted from blocking her own territory’s reflected artillery.
Sky stood on the field, cold sweat pouring down her neck beneath her disguise helmet.
Before Sky could even process the absurdity of what had just occurred—
CREAK... HEAVE!
The massive reinforced front gates of the Blessed Land slowly swung open.
Through the open gates, a small tactical group stepped out onto the grass... led by Brida and Tamsin!
They weren’t rushing out in a reckless charge... they were casually fanning out across the clearing, establishing wide tactical angles.
Sky’s battle-trained mind instantly recognized the danger.
The high stone Watchtower towering above the gates was equipped with heavy defense turrets and long-range snipers.
If Sky kept her forces clustered together in front of the gate, those turrets would rain down hell upon his clustered troops.
Sky glanced up at the Watchtower.
Standing atop the highest platform of the Watchtower was Fenna... the sniper.
Fenna stood in a wide, stable archer’s stance.
She was holding a massive, four-foot-long composite longbow forged from dark star-iron.
Her sharp hazel eyes were completely calm, locked directly onto Lord Sky’s masked face across a distance of eight hundred yards.
Fenna reached back to her quiver, pulled out a single sleek black arrow, and notched it onto the bowstring.
SHRRRRR!
She drew the bowstring all the way back to her ear.
There was outwardly nothing special or flashy about that single arrow. There was no roaring fire magic, no crackling lightning, no glowing aura.
It appeared to be just a standard well-forged iron arrow.
THWIP!
Fenna released the string.
The single black arrow shot through the air with a soft, whistling whisper but Sky’s spatial senses flared wildly.
