Blake led Amanda a little farther away from the crowd, knowing every eye and ear in the mansion was currently focused on him and anything he might say.

It has been since this morning and knowing how this case could be regarded as something in the public interest, Blake was restricted to even call anyone freely.

And above all, the Ten Petal clans must have already taken some major steps already. So he has to be cautious.

On the other hand, Amanda was naturally worried about him, as well as what he thought about the incident.

She knew how much Blake mattered to Kyle. Under these circumstances, Kyle needed all the support he could get.

So, once they were far enough from the crowd, the first thing she asked was,

"Are you angry at him?"

Blake paused, his brows drawing together before he let out a long breath.

"I am."

Amanda’s heart sank.

"I’m sure he must have had a reason. Won’t you at least give him a chance to explain?"

"Of course I will."

Blake’s frown deepened.

"I’m not blaming him for anything, Amanda. Nor would I ever be so upset with him that I’d stop talking to him."

Amanda finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"I’m glad your father’s death didn’t change how you see Kyle."

She knew Blake had never gotten along with Mathew, but he was still his father by blood. Hearing that Kyle had killed Mathew made her worry that Blake might be shaken by it and allow that blood relation to overshadow the bond he shared with Kyle.

However, Blake’s next words left her stunned.

"He had it coming for a long time now. If Kyle hadn’t done it, I would’ve had that man killed in his sleep one of these days."

His voice was chillingly calm.

Amanda stared at him in surprise.

Both Kyle and Blake had hated that man immensely.

"Brother..."

Amanda hesitated before asking,

"Do you know where he could be? I’ve already checked his apartment and called his cousin and a few friends from university. He hasn’t contacted any of them since last night."

Her concern was still focused on Kyle.

He had completely vanished, ignoring everyone’s calls and leaving no trace of where he had gone.

Amanda hoped Blake might have some clue. But,

"I don’t know either. I’ve already sent Lara to search for him, but she couldn’t get a hold of him either. His phone isn’t with him, that’s for sure. He left it at home."

That only deepened her concern. She lowered her gaze and muttered,

"Is he regretting his decision and too scared to come out? Is he hiding somewhere?"

Blake shook his head.

"I’ve seen the footage, Amanda. He... looked utterly convinced about what he did. He confronted the man, forced him to confess his crimes, and then dealt with him. There was no hesitation, nor did he make any attempt to hide his face, even though he knew exactly where the cameras were in the office."

Kyle had visited that office several times. If he had wanted to conceal his identity, he would never have chosen to confront Mathew there. And even if he had, he wouldn’t have been so blatant about it.

"I fear the worst, Brother."

Amanda’s voice trembled.

"I just want to see him once..."

Bzzz.

Just then, her phone buzzed.

Blake’s phone vibrated at the same time.

Both of them frowned, but before either could reach for their phones, someone suddenly called out,

"Blake! Come here. It’s Kyle!"

A man hurried toward them, his voice filled with urgency.

Amanda moved first, her steps quickening as Blake followed closely behind.

Everyone had gathered around a single man holding a mobile phone in his hand.

Amanda and Blake pushed their way through the crowd before Blake asked,

"What is it?"

The man holding the phone appeared to be a PSC officer. He immediately answered,

"It’s a live feed from one of the Temples. And look..."

Amanda and Blake’s eyes widened as they watched the footage, their expressions frozen in utter shock.

"What in the world..."

....

"Haah... that was intense."

Hannah muttered as she and Clara stepped out of the gravity chamber after an exhausting workout.

Clara remained silent, offering no response.

Hannah sighed.

"Still thinking about Ethan? He must be busy preparing for his mentorship. Why don’t you focus on your training too? Maybe one day, we’ll finally reach his level."

Clara groaned.

"For once, stop talking about training, H-"

"Hey, you two!"

Someone suddenly called out, making them both turn.

An officer waved them over.

"Get over here! It’s Ethan and Kyle! They’re on the live feed!"

Hannah and Clara exchanged a glance before immediately rushing toward the central hall.

Almost every officer had gathered there, huddled before the large screen broadcasting a live feed from a Temple not far away.

Clara’s eyes widened.

"What the fuck..."

The curse slipped quietly from her lips as everyone else stood in utter silence, their attention fixed on the screen.

.....

Veronica was probably breaking every traffic rule in existence just to reach her destination.

She had received a call from the main base moments ago. They had spotted a certain young man heading toward one of the Temples.

She had rushed out of her house as fast as she could, yet she was still nearly half an hour away from her destination.

"But why would Kyle go there?"

Her expression remained troubled as countless possibilities raced through her mind.

Unable to bear the delay any longer, she pulled the car over to the side of the road.

Urgency overruled reason.

In the end, she decided to make the rest of the journey on foot.

"Just stay safe until I get there, Kyle."

Her gaze hardened.

"I can’t lose you."
